Though the mysterious robot may outclass each crewmember individually, the tables are swiftly turned when its trapped in a room and outnumbered. Taking up a defensive position either side of the control room's main entrance, Benedict and Silas both draw their laser pistols with frightening speed, and each pop out of cover just long enough to draw a bead on the approaching machine. Two sharp snaps sound off in synch with each other, and the robot takes a bolt to the left ocular and one to the embedded laser rifle in its arm, causing its own burst of laser fire to harmlessly pepper the control room bulkheads to the east of the doorway. As the rest of the team ready their own weapons and prepare to flank, the fight seems to be all but over already.

Odo creeps up to the doorway to the right, ready to shoot at anything that moves.

Using the bulkhead as cover, Benedict will fire off another shot from his laser pistol.
Laser Pistol: [1d20+1] = 19+1 = 20 Damage: [1d6] = 6

Re: [001] - A Spot of Gardening
Glancing uneasily at the charred doorway and at Odo behind him, Silas crouches to lower the chances of getting shot by his allies.
"Thanks for the save, pops, but watch where you're aiming that thing!"
He leans back into the room and fires off another shot before retreating again.
Laser Pistol: Attack [1d20+3] = 7+3 = 10, damage on hit [1d6+2] = 3+2 = 5, damage on miss [1d4] = 4

Damian remains at the rear with Skunk, his laser pistol still trained on the doorway, ready to fire if the robot comes into view.
Pistol (+0) [1d20] = 5[1d6] = 4
... it's a shame to wast last round's rolls.

Already heavily damaged from the rapid precision of Silas and Benedict's combined assault, the robot falls to the floor smoking after their second barrage; a cautious assessment of the lifeless scrap-metal reveals that the control room is now secure. Skunk follows you into the room once it's safe, his eyes fixated on the disabled robot as he shuffles towards it, then kicks the remains with surprising force. "Fucker..." he mutters to himself, before noticing the laser-ridden corpse of the former comms operator. "Sig didn't... deserve this shit... None of us did... not really..." After composing himself for a few seconds, the young Freeman nods to the western control panel. "That's the one... if you want comms and shit... Not sure how to work it myself but... I bet you could figure it out no problem..." he says, winking at Anghar.

Damian looks relieved, holstering his laser pistol without having had to actually fire it. Grateful for some terminals, he approaches one to pull up some information (once Benedict has shut down the security protocols, of course). He pulls up engineering schematics of the floor above, looking for what to expect. He also pulls up the station records for the docked pirate ships... for curiousity, of course.
"Hey, Pilfer... can you tell what is going on behind the locked door across the hall? Should we check it before going up, or leave it at our backs?"

Agnahr Roulos (HP: 8/8, AC: 15)
After spending some time warily awaiting an opportunity to rush the robot, the firefight is suddenly over. Agnahr is clearly disappointed at his own contribution to the firefight. He sheaths his sword and commends Odo, "That was quick thinking! Great work pulling our man clear."
Then to the others, he acknowledges their prowess, "Good shooting, gang."
As Skunk suggests that he should get on the comms, Agnahr once again finds himself behind P1lF3R. He pulls out his knife and indicates the control panel. He asks the hacker, "Would you like some help with that?"

Re: [001] - A Spot of Gardening
Benedict holsters his sidearm and brings out his mini computer once again. As he gets started, he hears Agnahr's question and sees the presented knife. Aaaah... not in that manner, no. He hacks into the system and takes control of the station's electronics. The next thing is to bring up any cameras the station has and see what there is to be seen on all the floors if possible.
Re: [001] - A Spot of Gardening
Odo holsters his own weapon as well; perhaps not as smoothly as Benedict, but it slides in quite nicely on the second try, thank you. (He does quickly pull it back out to check that the safety was properly engaged before re-holstering it, but that's just good gun safety.)
Once he's convinced that the sidearm will stay where it is (and not blow his foot off), he scampers up behind Benedict, squinting and staring over the man's shoulder at the terminal. "Oh! I say, you did get into that quickly. Well done!" He claps Benedict rather familiarly on the shoulder.

With full control over the Flowerbed's surveillance systems, Benedict is able to disable the emergency alarms and bring up a visual on the hitherto unseen areas of the station. The upper floors containing the extensive hydroponics gardens and the preparation laboratories are all void of people, alive or dead, but a camera in the Staging Area shows a different scene altogether, and one that brings a smile to Skunk's face. Just less than a dozen people are stood alert, all of them in vaccsuits and the majority of them armed with las pistols and breaching shotguns. They all face the metasteel blast-door, as if waiting for some kind of signal. Besides the immediately apparent compliment of spacemen, you notice a few other things about the room; some kind of make-shift sleeping quarters have been constructed in on half of the room with sheets and benches, and you notice a few remains of ration packs scattered about in places. You would estimate that the people in this room have been here a while, from roughly around when Skunk said the previous hull breach alarm sounded.
"That's them..!" Skunk exclaims happily, breathing a sigh. "The Captain... I knew she wouldn't just leave... or die that easily..." The boy's tone is a curious blend of relief and trepidation. "She should be happy to... see you..."

The merchant taps Benedict on the shoulder. "Is there any way to communicate with them? Have Skunk say hello, perhaps? They seem a mite...twitchy.

Re: [001] - A Spot of Gardening
Silas puts away his pistol after making sure the smoldering pile of metal stopped moving before turning to Odo, a large smile on his face.
"That was quite something, hawk-eye! How you saw the robot before the doors even fully opened! Eyes like those, makes me surprised you hadn't smoked him immediately! Must be the nerves, eh?"
He pats the old man on the back overly enthusiastically.
"Tell you what, when we get back, drinks are on me."
---
After Benedict pulls up the camera feeds from the rest of the station onto the screen, the footage seems to indicate a welcome lack of operational killer robots on the station.
Silas takes a look at the mechanical remains while the hacker does his work, seeing if he can't figure out where the thing came from.

Damian Stavros (HP: 1/1, AC: 14)
Damian watches the screens warily, without the sense of relief the others share. Something about the neatly aligned formation of humans bothers him. The mind is programmable, after all. Perhaps the robot's command syntax lives on.
He echoes Odo's request. "Yeah... Can you open a comm channel? Let them know the robot is gone, see if they stand down?"
Shaking off his sense of pervasive dread, he goes with Silas to help look at the robot, investigating its components for both origin and salvage... after making sure its CPU and memory are completely powered off, of course. Just because its housing crumpled doesn't mean its gone. There's that dread again...
Investigate robot (Int+fix+2, best 2 of 3) [1d6] = 3[1d6] = 4[1d6] = 6 (+2)

Benedict's fingers are already moving as the team ask Skunk to break the ice with the Captain, his finger soon hovering over the OPEN COMMS command as the others nod to the young Freeman. After returning the gesture, Skunk picks up the directional mic and clears his throat. "Er... Captain? It's Skunk. Can you hear me?" A visual of the staging area shows each of its vaccsuited occupants turning their heads in surprise, indicating that they can indeed hear the lad speak. The one at the front of the group, unmistakably the Captain, calmly turns to face the security camera then brings a hand to the side of her head, tapping the side of her helmet where her ear would be. Skunk covers the mic to talk to the control room. "Ah, right... no way for her to respond. Guess I'll just try and... explain?" He clears his throat again, and resumes his announcement into the mic. "We'll have you out of there soon, Captain... everyone... I'm with some people that rescued me... well, all of us... We didn't all make it... but, well... I'll let them explain the details... Just know we're all going to be OK... OK?"
The Captain listens to all this impassively, then when Skunk is done speaking, she stabs a finger twice towards the locked blastdoor. Skunk laughs nervously, before turning to the team with a questioning tone. "I guess they want to get out..?" Anticipating your question, he follows up. "But you don't have to worry... the Captain won't just open fire... After all, you've all been useful to her, done your jobs and all that... unlike me..." He laughs nervously again.
During this time, Silas assists Damian who crouches over the smoking remains of the robot and attempts to delve into its memory banks, searching for a clue to its origin or purpose. The first thing the mage's sixth sense notices is the strange composition of the chassis' alloy; it is unlike anything he has yet encountered within either the Unified Systems, including items originating from Empire space. The next thing observes is its impeccable construction, the seamless joinery perfect to the micrometre. Even the finest Lorinan shipyards would struggle to produce a work this flawless, and such workmanship would not be wasted on a mere soldier android. Knowing these two facts, Damian concludes that this robot is pre-Scream, a rare example of machine technology from the height of human expertise. Other than this, the robot's internals are too damaged for a deeper field examination. Perhaps more information could be extracted with a well-equipped workshop and some more time, but the party was rather effective in their attempts to put the robot out of action.

As the crew responds... Well, like humans... Damian lets out a sigh of relief. "Best make introductions, then captain," he nods to Odo. "If there all alive, we can get the delivery and move on. Before we do, though, we need to ask about where they got this 'egg.'". He trails off, turning his attention back fully to the pre-Scream artifact which he and Silas are examining.

Odo nods in agreement and leans forward to speak into the microphone. "Captain? My name is Captain Vyrner Odo. We were sent by Kal Kasima to help. I know you can't respond, but I want to assure you we mean you no harm. We're going to open the door now. Nod if that's acceptable."
Assuming she does nod or otherwise signal agreement, Odo will nod for Benedict to open the door.
