Dr. B: Oh, I am afraid I more of a dig about the books historian than a hands-on approach, but Dr. Mulvihill should know something. To be honest, I think I would have been a little better off getting my hands dirty in my younger days as it is, or I wouldn't have found myself in this particular state... she chuckles ruefully and gestures to himself with a little self-deprecating humor.
Roy: Roy is looking about the ultra cluttered office, noting how it appears that some kind of academic bomb went off in here. He notices something, but before he can fully process what he notices, it is immediately dispelled as he hears someone say the word Twinkies! It just so happens that Dr. Burkley smiles. Oh! I have some here! Go ahead, pass them around! he hands out the box he produces from his old desk.
Mac: on the other hand, does notice something. The old professor has a rather interesting looking cane. It is made of dark sturdy wood, lacquered black with a gold topper that is very detailed, appearing to have depictions of saints and small symbols he cannot yet decipher from where he is at, but he knows he has seen it or something somewhat similar before.

Dr. Mulvihill, he is in the next office down. He is the expert on that, being an archaeologist and all. He could give you more information on the Caddo. He works with them and is already working on that site... Let's see... he picks up his phone and dials a couple digits into it. Hello? Hello? Yes, this is Dr. Burkley... I have some gentlemen here that would like to talk to you about the Mound, specifically a Dr. O'Rouke and his team, they are with the Ghostbusting Department. Yes. Alright, I will let them know. hanging up the phone he looks up smiling. He needs a moment but will come get you when he is ready. Nice man Dr. Mulvihill. Very passionate about his work... Re: Jason, Joker, Mac, & Roy: The Frat is Back in Town!
Much appreciated, I will have to see him after we finish up here. Jason says smiling warmly. There have been a few more disturbances since we have been here but nothing as large as that. Mostly we have been trying to get into the history of the town, we toured some historic sites and the Bass Reeves memorial. Got some interesting readings there but nothing..set in stone. He chuckles at his own bad joke, and had a less than stellar welcome from one of the congregations, a ...uh.. Father... Belmont I think? But that has been the exception so far, everyone else has been so helpful. Jason tries to study the mans reaction to Father Belmont's name without showing his cards.

The professor perks up. Oh people have been talking about ghost being seen out there for decades! Actually since the beginning of the first fort itself. Assume all this is real, and mind you I say that as an academic, not a skeptic... I have to keep my personal biases in check after all! he chuckles. Everything from soldiers, and criminals, marshals, civilians from the past... Well, you get the idea. I would say that if you were going to find ghost it would be out there. There have been a lot of events out there, everything from the founding of the City to the hangings... Some people say they have even seen the Judge. Oh! And there is the old Carnegie Library which used to be his home. It is Channel 3 news now... and workers still say they see the Librarian Ghost there! But I am rambling... he waves himself off, apparently aware that he can get off on a tangent of a tangent, of a tangent.Jason wrote:...Mostly we have been trying to get into the history of the town, we toured some historic sites and the Bass Reeves memorial. He leans back a moment. Father Belmont. Now there is a story or two. He is probably one of the eldest living residents, but doesn't look much worse for it, no matter how severe he may be... He is... a difficult man. But he is like most of the residents in the area that has deep roots here, his family has a history here too. Some of it more flattering than the rest. What do you know about the Belmont family?Jason wrote:and ...uh.. Father... Belmont... Jason tries to study the mans reaction to Father Belmont's name without showing his cards.
Mac if you want a closer look, you can either directly ask or roll a combination of hard brains and hard cool to see if you know anything about it or notice anything.

Going with the hard brains/cool roll. Spending 7 BP total to get 6d6 for each.
Cool +4BP [6d6] = 25 Ghost Die [1d6] = 5 Brains +3BP [6d6] = 23 Ghost Die [1d6] = 5

Not a lot honestly, his father started the church I heard? Its a little place outside town, small close congregation. Oh and not a fan of us, showed up and got into a spat with the Mayor at our ribbon cutting.

Roy laughs having seen the twinkie box then at the offer "Well you know I have a hard time passing up a twinkie."

Dusty, Musty, and Messy. too.
Twinkies are passed around and the Professor chuckles.
Mac gets a really good look at the cane and recognizes it from his studies back at the university. The inscriptions on the ornate handle resemble saints, specifically ones important in the Eastern Orthodox Church. They were carried by the nobility but came exclusively as gifts from the church itself. He also notices that this one, like most, has a small hidden cap on the top of the pommel that opens to a small compartment usually for relics, ashes, or other personal family/church keepsakes.
Dr. B Yes, well... that does sound like him, I dare say. His family came here in the early days. That place his father preached is an area now called Moffet, across the river. There isn't a lot out there now, like a lot of the small towns in that part of the state, they are slowly turning into ghost towns, no pun intended. Remarkable bit of history if verging on the melodramatic. You see, the father was a popular preacher, his son, the living Belmont you have witnessed since your arrival was always much more of the fire and brimstone type... his father and he didn't see eye to eye on that... not exactly anyway, but the articles at the time say that his father was prone to alcoholism and burned down the original church while enbibing. Died in the fire. Horrible way to go... But the peculiar part of it is that the cross, the same one in Father Belmont's current church, is said to have survived. Now, I have not personally been there, and any inquiries I have made about The Rood as they call it, have been met with... well... less than cordial words. But no matter... What I am curious about is...
There are suddenly screams outside.
Dr. B Oh my, I wonder what all that ruckus is about...?

Roy holding half a twinkie and chewing the other half moves to look out the window to see if the screaming is coming from outside.

Re: Jason, Joker, Mac, & Roy: The Frat is Back in Town!
All the guys crowd at the window and see students beginning to run away in the same direction which the window is facing. It is Joker, who alternatively chooses to rush out of the office for a look in the other direction, that once outside in the covered courtyard, can see the direction the screams and fleeing students are coming from. His phone pings with a PKE notification!
More telling are the sounds of inhuman laughter from the same direction the screaming is coming from.
A moment later they other teammates inside Dr. B's office get pings of the reading via the network.
Dr. B What's going on? What do you see?
Actions?

Roy finishes his twinkie and looks to the professor "To be continued. Looks like work is never done." and he heads out the door looking for Joker.

Jason nods along to the professors story, We had heard the legend about the cross, definitely interesting. He says as the shouting cuts him off.
Looking out at the courtyard and feeling the PKE alert he pulls out his phone and studies it.
I hope Mac is back from his run, time to put in work.

Nice out but getting more humid.
As they guys hurry out the door into the grounds they quickly see what direction to run to, because it is where the students are all running from. Joker easily follows a strong signal. Despite the number of people running away, there seems to be more and more screaming and chaos, as well as what the team has come to recognize as ghost laughter. As they round the corner towards the Clock Tower, the see students pouring out of various buildings. Then the ghost chase out the last of the students from the surrounding buildings to come together in the middle of the courtyard, laughing and high fiving each other.
