Ok I have to ask since i don't know what is SWN:Revised?Faanku wrote:Would anyone be interested in playing SWN:Revised? The game I was in has been unfortunately stalled indefinitely, so I thought I might pick up the mantle myself.
I have DMing experience but not in PbP, so you may have to bear with me.

Stars Without Number is an OSR sci-fi sandbox set in the year 3200, after humanity has colonised the stars and then lost most of the tech that allowed them to do so due to a cataclysmic event known as The Scream.GreyWolfVT wrote:Ok I have to ask since i don't know what is SWN:Revised?
It's an extremely malleable system but the "default" setting portrays the players as a rag-tag group of starfarers taking odd jobs, running the interstellar trade lanes and exploring forgotten corners of the galaxy to hopefully make ends meet and keep their bird flying. Think something between Firefly, Star Trek and Cowboy Bebop and you won't go far wrong.
The sytem is incredibly simple and intuitive, but there are plenty of ways to customise your character, equipment and starship.

Interesting. Also the references all work i have watched all three shows. I'd have no problem playing the game just I'd be a complete newbie.Faanku wrote:Stars Without Number is an OSR sci-fi sandbox set in the year 3200, after humanity has colonised the stars and then lost most of the tech that allowed them to do so due to a cataclysmic event known as The Scream.GreyWolfVT wrote:Ok I have to ask since i don't know what is SWN:Revised?

If I remember correctly it is based on OD&D or some earlyish edition of D&D. So likely not too scary for you to pick up on Ed.

This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.

Its essentially BX D&D with a skill system integrated into it. Great system.rredmond wrote:If I remember correctly it is based on OD&D or some earlyish edition of D&D. So likely not too scary for you to pick up on Ed.

I'm interested. I planned on joining the original game but RL interfered.

I'm interested too! Is there a campaign pitch yet? I'm curious about things like if you're looking at a pre-defined campaign arc vs. sandbox, how involved Factions will be, etc.

It would be a delight to be included in this game. Please, may I also be delighted?Faanku wrote:Would anyone be interested in playing SWN:Revised? The game I was in has been unfortunately stalled indefinitely, so I thought I might pick up the mantle myself.

Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
That's more people than expected. I'll have a forum set up where I'll post some background info on the state of the sector, then we can figure out who plays.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
I'd be interested but since a lot of folks are interested I'd be ok with being on the waitlist
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Has anyone ever attempted to run or played Legend of the 5 Rings? I have the 1e rulebook yet I've never had an opportunity to run/play the game.
Re: What would you like to play/run? (Interest Catch-all)
Is there any interest in playing a more crunchy style game say, Rolemaster? I think with PbP it would be easier to run such a game.

I would certainly be up for that. RMC by preference, though I do have RMSS, just not a fan of the system bloat.

It will be Rolemaster Classic.Stormraven wrote:I would certainly be up for that. RMC by preference, though I do have RMSS, just not a fan of the system bloat.

Plus I would be using a newly discovered continent for the players to explore. They would meet elves for the first time, come across many monsters that man had yet to see for the first time, discover ancient ruins and diabolical races.Golem wrote:Is there any interest in playing a more crunchy style game say, Rolemaster? That would definitely have my interest, then.
