Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
After Galanthas has learned his lesson, he decides he doesn't want to get close to that room until something changes. He listens attentively to Wes' and Avaala's words.
For Wes, Avaala and Chauncey.
He then he badly tries to conceal their murmuring to the rest of the party: "Oh, yeah, he, he... Surely it must have been a magical rope or something of the sort!"
For Wes, Avaala and Chauncey.

Brother Gilbert
He watches the various little groups exchanging whispers with amusement. He will continue to stand near the room containing Jaxsen and Krystal, guarding the injured.

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim
While the group looks around for a rope and hook to try to fish the items out of the cabinet from the safety of the doorway, Chauncey casts his strange version of a spell to detect for magical auras on the items. Both robes appear to be of normal make. The coil of finely braided rope on the other hand, glows like a long phosphorescent worm wrapped around itself on the wardrobes hook. The creepy looking mage smiles wide as he looks at his friends with his black eyes.
Wes watches as the door protecting Jax and Krystal slowly closes almost all the way, opens about a quarter of the way again, and then closes completely. When he doesn't hear or see anything else in that area, he moves over to the others and begins whispering to the learned members of the party. Brother Gilbert stays put, happy to guard the injured members of the group, even if he cant actually see either of them.
Treasure flits over to the doorway and hovers in the empty opening for a moment. "Uuummmmm. There is some.....one in here. Do you see him? I think he is invisible, but........more than that. He is dressed just like Gilbert. See him? Right there in the corner?" When anyone without the keen sight of the pseudo dragon looks inside, they see only clutter scattered about the room.

Luther
Luther re- enters the room, stopping just inside the door. When the debris starts flying, he catches a random book and throws it out through the doorway, then exits. Does the book continue to fly artound? Or does it drop to the floor?

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Galanthas startled at Chauncey's visage mutters something to him: "W-well... Maybe we could sh-share some spells later when we're back in t-town... Yours seems quite interesting." He then seems to realise something: "Ah, yes! I don't have a grappling hook, but I've got a rope and these earrings and a coil, maybe we could improvise something with it." He kneels, grabs his rucksack, opens it and starts getting it done introducing the open earrings between the rope strings to form a kind of weird hook.
When Treasure mentions that he sees someone dressed like brother Gilbert a sudder stops what he's doing and stares at the cleric, then back at the open door: "How long has this temple been like this? I mean... abandoned?"

Avaala the Grey
"Galanthas,"says Avaala."I think we are thinking the same thing." He looks to Brother Gilbert. "Gilbert, my lad, I believe a long-passed elder of this temple still guards this room. It may be that you could enter it, unaccosted. Feeling game?"

Wes
Seeing the door pop open again, just wide enough to allow a person to slip out, Wes speaks to Treasure.
"Treasure, my friend, is there anybody invisible in this room with us?"

Avaala the Grey
In an aside to Chauncey, Avaala says, in a low voice, "In case you hadn't considered it, that version of the spell might have some powerful intimidation value."

For Galanthas, Wes and Avaala:
Upon the warning from Treasure, Chauncey dips into his pocket and removes a small stone. Placing it up to his sorcerous eye he squints, holding it in like a monocle in order to have his hands free, then peers first around the room they are in, then into the messy one.
"Well, who are you? Speak up!" he says. "It's no use trying to hide, I can see you quite clearly." He says this regardless of whether he can see anyone where the pseudo dragon indicated or not.

Brother Gilbert
To Avaala: I suppose I could try, this is, after all, a temple dedicated to Pelor. If you or Treasure would take my place watching the wounded, I will try.
Br. Gilbert will slowly approach the room, with his holy symbol held in front of him.
To whomever dwells within, peace be with you. I merely wish to discover who you are or were. I follow the god of this temple, Pelor.

Seeking Out The Jungle Priest
Sunday, the 14th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid, Damp, Dim
The whispers from some of the party continue while Monocar remains determined to win his staring contest with the other door.
Luther reenters the room and takes a plate to the groin for his troubles once the debris starts flying again. 1 dam He does manage to get the flying object outside of the room where it no longer shows any signs of self propulsion.
Galanthas rigs up a hooked end on his coil of rope with some earrings he found earlier, waiting for his chance to do a little land fishing from the doorway.
Wes asks Treasure to have a look around the room. The tiny dragon ignores the command until he gets the nod from Avaala before proceeding. Once he looks back towards the druid, Treasure bursts out in squeaky laughter, pointing at the area directly next to the half-elf. Whatever he sees happening there has the dragon in stitches, so much so that he cant even reply right away.
Chauncey takes out his magic seeing gem and peers through it from the safety of the doorway. In the far corner of the room stands the apparition of what must have been a former occupant of this place. At first glance, the ghostly figure looks harmless. But once it recognizes that it is being watched, its demeanor seems to quickly change for the worse, causing the mage to step back to let Gilbert try his luck.
Brother Gilbert attempts to speak with the unseen clerical figure, hoping that their common bond will protect him. As soon as he passes into the room, the debris starts to fly again. (I couldn't tell if that was a turning attempt or not, but if it was, can I get a D20 roll from BG please? Thanks!) If Chauncey continues to look through his gem, he sees that it is indeed this Peloric poltergeist who is throwing the debris around the room wildly anytime someone enters.

Galanthas stands with the improvised rope and grappling hook in his hands. "Has anyone of you good aim?" His words trail off as he sees Avaala's and Brother Gilbert's reaction and just stands there, looking with expectation at whatever is happening and might happen in that room.

Avaala can be seen to struggle with keeping a straight face, even amid all the other things going on. He manages to not laugh, and merely looks at Galanthas and says,"No. No, I do not." and shakes his head mildly.

Re: Quest #23 "Even The Jungle Wanted Them Dead"
Chauncey, undisturbed by the apparition as its power does not seem to extend beyond the borders of the room stands with hands on hips, contemplating for a moment before putting a question to the group: "Who here has knowledge about spirits? Brother Gilbert? Avaala? All I can recall is something about ghosts needing some final task completed before they can move on into the next world. Is that what's going on here?" He sighs, then addresses the poltergëist directly. "Sir. Sir! If I may. You seem perturbed. Moody, even, if I may be so bold. What is it that you require? How may we help you? Is there some final task you must needs see done before skeediddling from this realm of the living to your final reward? Speak if you are able, or give some other sign. We shall assist you to escape your torment if we can... Also, would you be a good fellow and hand me that rope, the one in the wardrobe?"

Avaala the Grey
"No, I'm afraid not, Chauncey," Avaala replies. "Other than the occasional ghost story, it has never really been a study of mine." He then listens with interest at Chauncey's attempt at communication. Given that the spirit responded to Chauncey staring at it, it seems quite logical to him. However, Avaala merely arches his eyebrows at Chauncey's final request of the spirit, wondering if that could possibly work.

Seeing the reaction of the others puzzles Wes for a moment. The he deduces what must be going on and sighs. Speaking over his shoulder, he asks,"Krystal, if you wanted to leave Jaxsen alone, why didn't you just tell me?"

Still startled, Galanthas just negates with the head, although he wasn't asked for any opinion on the matter: "No idea." He says looking intently at what's going at the threshold.
