Re: IC
Feargus laughs out loud and begins loudly telling a joke about Telemachus' mother in a slurred voice. Then in a quieter tone, "This is me getting in character."
He then begins loudly telling the same joke about Newton's mother, only to 'suddenly' remember that he just told it about T's mother and stop in a fit of laughter. He stands up and bows and then stumbles into the wall next to the door. He then says a polite word to the wall and makes his way out the door, beginning a rousing rendition of the famous Junction drinking song, "Darling, You're Stange And I Like It".

Bastion
The Folly
9:15 pm
Feargus staggers, singing, out of the tavern while his companions try to decide who will go invisible. "Er, someone might want to go out there with your friend," says one of the other patrons, "there's some kind of murderer stalking the streets, and the Guard says we shouldn't be out alone. Plus, he's drunk."

Telemachus
"Right, well, best be off to catch him then, eh? Who else wants to help? If we let him get much further, he'll likely disappear."
Telemachus exits the bar and waits for someone to get the reference and join him outside, and he then ducks out of sight and casts Invisibility on the two of them. Then they take off as quietly as possible after Feargus.

Feargus begins wandering aimlessly, alternating between belting out the chorus of drinking songs and singing softly to himself. Generally he avoids totally dark alleys, only because he can't see down there.

Aldus pats Newton on the back. "You're good in the woods, Newton, but city streets are where my talents shine. I'm a shadow! A memory! A whisper in gauze! I'll be so quiet I'll cancel out Telemachus' hoofing racket!"

There is a well-known genre of puppet theatre throughout the Scarlet Principality known as "Gladstone Guards." In it, a group of inept city guards stumble and pratfall their way towards, if not success, at least a stalemate with the criminal underbelly of an imaginary city called Gladstone. What follows could be a new skit for the Gladstone Guards. Firstly, Feargus acts drunk with gusto, staggering from wall to wall and singing bawdy tunes that echo loudly off the crammed, stone streets of Bastion. Secondly, invisible, Newton and Telemachus cannot see each other, and between trying to follow at a discrete distance, not being heard, and not being to see each other they spend a good majority of the beginning running into each other. However, before too long they grab each other's garments in one hand and advance forward.
The rest of the other adventurers tag along at what they hope is an appropriately far distance.
New to town, and unfamiliar with the layout, Feargus wanders for close to an hour, without, apparently, attracting the attention of blood-sucking gribblies. What he does attract, however, is a trio of guardsmen, in their dark red surcoats. "Ho there," exclaims one, "you there, drunk person! I don't recognize you; which means you are new. If you are new you will know that Bastion does not tolerate lawlessness, nor Chaotic behavior! I would also strongly recommend traveling in a group because of recent . . . developments."

Feargus sighs and holds up his hands. "Hello there my good men." He drags himself withing talking distance, hands up and eyes steady. Keeping his voice low he says, "My name is Feargus Fireseed - you may have heard me perform in the inns in Junction? I do apologize for the appearance. I am a part of a local adventuring party passing through town. Would there be a part of the city that I should certainly avoid if I were to get my airs in the evening alone?"
In the unlikely event that the guards give him a tip on where the stalker has been sighted, he will make a round about pass toward that part of Bastion.

"Junction? I think that's to the west, isn't it? But no, I've never heard you sing; some of us must work for a living, and can't afford to go traipsing across the countryside listening to every would-be musician strumming in taverns. I would strongly advise you go out in a group -- sober, for goddesses' sake -- but if you must go out alone you should stick to the well-lit areas and avoid back-streets and alleys."
Re: IC
Aldus, bow and arrow ready, trails the bait and his invisible tail from the distance of a bow's shot, sticking to shadows. Ah, it feels good to get a proper skulk in! How he's missed this—cobblestones under your feet, brick against your back, the cleanly defined shadows of architecture and oil lamps to hide you. This, he thinks to himself, is the life.

Feargus bids farewell to the guards and continues to stumble around town, now frequenting any dark alleys that have a clear way out (as opposed to a dead-end).

Bastion
'Round Midnight
It becomes difficult to judge what time it is; the stars have now been totally obscured by a thick layer of clouds, the temperature drops, and as Feargus wanders, tailed by his invisible compatriots, and further tailed by his *non*-visible companions, a light snow begins to fall, dusting the ground in white. Feargus has a sense of being watched, a tickling at the base of his neck, but he is not attacked. Every so often he encounters a guard patrol, and after a few minutes of questioning is allowed to go on his way. His visible companions are noticed as well, but they are left alone and not bothered.

Feargus jumps a bit a Telemachus' statement. "Forgot you guys were there for a minute. Must have been woolgathering." He begins dragging his feet as suggested and whispers, "How long should we give it? This is starting to feel a bit like fishing in a dry hole."
