Scythius wants no part in the amulet and remains alert in case the ceremony he just witnessed attracted any unwanted attention. He does, however, allow his curiosity to get the best of him. "What's it like?" he asks of whomever is holding the bauble.

Viktor stands there wide-eyed, white-knuckling his spear in dread during the ceremony. It's obvious he is also expecting certain doom to drop by any moment. He stares at the amulet hypnotically, while it spins and near jumps out of skin when it falls and Minter collapses. "Ahh! What the...!!" <gulp> "Is he... dead?!"
Alethan wrote:Trying to learn what he can, Cillian pays careful attention to what Minter does and says throughout the whole ceremony.

As he finishes the ritual, and the amulet and Minter both fall to the ground, Cillian instinctively runs to... Minter, first. He checks to make sure he is still breathing and comfortable, but does not try to wake him up.

"Harold told me during my training that powerful spells can sap your energy or... worse. Hopefully this is just the former. We should keep him comfortable until he wakes on his own. To do otherwise might cause him harm."

Once he has done that, and if nobody else does first, he will examine the amulet, holding it out for anyone else to examine, as well.
Vik lets out a relieved breath to hear that Minter isn't dead and mouths a silent prayer to some higher power. He looks over when Sergius moves and snaps back to. Following his friend's leader, he begins looking around the inside of the mill for any lurking dangers.

When Cillian holds out the amulet, Vik backs away at full impulse power, raising his finally released free hand in a fearful no-thanks-you-keep-it gesture. "If Minter was right, they'll know we gots that thing fer sure now!"

He looks first to Cillian and then Korec, Talon and the others with a curious look, tinged with a dash of fresh dread. "Well, dammit all! Minter be the only one here can tell us anything, really. We gotta wait fer him ta wake up!!"

Cillian examines the amulet closely for a minute, to see if he can discern anything that needs to be done with it.

Assuming he finds nothing (since I don't see how he would), he looks at everyone else and then shrugs. "I guess... I guess we'll have to wait for Minter to wake up." He shakes his head, "I sure hope this thing didn't suddenly start projecting our location to any of those creatures."

I wonder if that's what they were honing in on, and not the spear, Tub says quietly touching his neck.

It might be. Still, the spear did not seem to be of any more use than a regular spear - actually, more fragile - so there was no point in taking the risk.

"What the..." Scythius mutters under his breath as he grips his spear firmly. Hearing the "thump" before the fire broke out doesn't sit right with Scythius. "Watch Minter," he says before dashing quickly out the door to the south, looking to get an exterior view of the area just outside where the flame is burning.

Do we get a feeling the fire will quickly spread out of control, or is it just a small blaze that doesn't really present much of a threat?

The timber used to build the mill is old and dry and the roof is thatched. the fire is likely to spread quickly.

"Someone's set fire to the mill! But... We're in it!"

Cillian places the locket around his neck and tucks it under his robes.

"Quick, two of you grab Minter. We'll have to make a try through the door or one of the windows. Tub, can you see anyone out there?" He asks, pointing at the windows by the front door.

"Shit! I knew it," exalts Viktor sarcastically under his breath as he moves over to the southern door with his spear at the ready. "Anyone wanna bet it ain't a bloody Death Monger?"

He gets into the ready position and prepares to skewer anything that comes through the portal as he waits intently to hear what Tub and the others see through the windows.

Tub, braving the heat, takes a look out the south westerly window. Next to the front door, but nearest the fire. He'll relay what he sees but, "I'm betting that eastern window is our safest bet out of here. Someone's gotta be waiting for us outside this door. Why does it always have to be us? he adds with a sigh. If there's time Tub sees what he can see out of that eastern window as well by sprinting over there after looking out of this one.
Either out that eastern window, or the biggest of us rush out the southern door all at the same time hoping to take any trap by surprise.

Rushing from one window to the other, and then back again, Tub curses, Crap! It looks like there's nothing closer than 10' to the mill, as far as I can tell. But with the tall grass and dark... he looks from the windows to the party, looks like the sooner we get out of here the better. He takes out his dagger and short sword, and nodding at the door, anyone like to do the honors?

When everyone is ready, he will open the door.

"Gah!" Cillian mutters, as he takes the amulet off and stows it in a pocket.

"That thing kept talking to me, telling me to go east to find what I assume is the nearest temple. It wouldn't stop talking in my head..."

Are you okay?

If he seems to be fine Serg will open the door, keeping his spear ready to face any enemies outside.

As the fire rapidly spreads serg opens the door with talon beside him, only to be met with a hail of crossbow bolts frm the tall grass beyond the mill.

Serg
[1d20] = 16
[1d20] = 16
[1d20] = 3

Talon
[1d20] = 8
[1d20] = 7
[1d20] = 12

Serg is struck by two bolts
[1d6] = 2
[1d6] = 3
Locked
