Re: IC
Aldus: "Agreed! Lay in a store of oil for the future, Madame Fleur. And now, let's return to our cheery little blot on the landscape."
Upon meeting up with Wulfka, Aldus notes how well the young woman continues to adapt to the adventuring life. She gains in confidence and fortitude with each passing day.

The Door at the Lake
11:00 am
The adventurers return to the door at the lake. From a brief examnination standing outside the door it doesn't look like anyone -- or anything -- has entered since they were last here.

The Door at the Lake
Entrance Hall
The adventurers enter the complex again. It does not look as though anything has been disturbed in the entrance hall since their last visit. The unopened door looks unchanged; twisted and warped in the jamb. It, too, looks like it will require either brute force or magics to open.

Feargus
Keeping his voice low, Feargus says, "I'm glad a kid didn't come stumbling through here. Of course what is opened up should be safe."

Re: IC
Aldus nods. "If we're going to be a while at this, we should call up the mercenaries and have them make camp outside. They can act as both guard and support. But I'm hopeful that we'll be done by nightfall."
Re: IC
Gardo
"So, let's go. Cast the spell and let's get some light behind me so I can enter. Or whoever had the 10 foot pole may want to go first or right beside me? Actually, after I go in and make sure no enemy is immediately upon us."

It's hard to explain puns to kleptomaniacs because they always take things literally.

The Door By the Lake
1/2 turn elapsed
The spell is cast and there is a pronounced groaning sound as the warped and swollen wood twists and loosens. The door opens at a touch, revealing a stone chamber flooded in water up to the knees, line with shelves. A smell of rot and mildew assails the nose, but it seems as if the cause is evident: the shelves are lined with books and scrolls, most if not all of them in an advanced state of decay. The room is approximately twenty feet to a side; there is a short flight of steps leading out of the water on the east wall that terminates in a closed stone door. At a glance the room appears to be devoid of threats.

Gardo
"Seems like something more for the learned folks here. Follow me." Gardo will enter into the room, shield up and sword down in the water, probing before each step and sweeping to see if there are any hidden objects under the water. He will slowly advance towards the stone door but stop at the stairs to it.
