Gardo

"They are certainly tough but I can damage them! I'll try to get around one as I can." Gardo will continue to attack the same creature, maybe allowing the others an opportunity to move away.

Telemachus

Casfrea retreats out of the room.

EDIT: Telemachus shouts "If we get them out of the water, we can use flaming oil!" The mage puts down his oil flask and lights a torch.

Aldus trades out his bow for his enchanted sword. He slows backs his way towards the exit, ready to hack at any mummies that come in his range. "I... I've never been terribly confident in my ability with a sword. Perhaps, when we get to the door, someone else would like to borrow Spindel for a while?"

The mage suggests that Casfrea may be equal to the task.

Round Two

Again, the creatures move with speed that belies their emaciated appearance. They seem to realize that only a few of the adventurers can hurt them, and turn towards Gardo and Newton. Both are able to avoid the blows, however.
Initiative, PCs first:: 2#1d6 2 5
The mummies are going to attack those who hurt them, as opposed to the ones who obviously can't hurt them:Attacking Gardo, then Newton:: 2#1d20+5 14 9 2#1d12 4 10
Well, that's lucky. Let me know how you guys want to handle this. It's probably better that you lost initiative, because now you've got the option to do a fighting withdrawal. However, note that in OSE movement happens prior to melee, so if you want to withdraw you're not going to be able to attack in the same round. Also, if you're going to retreat and use the door as a chokepoint let me know who will be in the front line.

Aldus continues his fighting withdrawal. With his enchanted sword in front of him he waves the others out the door ahead of him. He calls into the other room, "Miss Casfrea? Would you care to do some work with my Spindel? Wulfka? Would you bring your shield to help block the door and defend Casfrea? And perhaps those with spells or polearms might stand behind them."

Gardo

Gardo will take advantage of the monsters inability to hit him and move towards the door. "Everyone get out of the room and make way for us with weapons that can damage these creatures."

He will be at the front where he can do the most damage.

Telemachus

Casfrea moves up and takes Aldus' blade, then moves to the door entrance, ready to hold the line and attack from that chokepoint.

The mage holds off on throwing any oil at the mummies, not wanting to hurt his friends in the process.

Round Two, cont.

The adventurers disengage from their enemy and retreat slowly to the door, creating a bottleneck where with Feargus and Gardo holding the front line. As they position themselves, and weapons exchange hands, there's a terrible scraping sound as the lid of the sarcophagus is pushed aside and a figure emerges from within, indistinct in the dim light!
Intentions for Round Three, please.

Newton casts Faerie Fire on the creature from the sarcophagus and the mummies.
I think the spell has enough of an area to effect the mummies as well, but if not his main focus is the sarcophagus creature

Telemachus

The mage stands ready in Room 1, looking for an opportunity to toss an oil flask at an opponent if it's clear of melee.

Casfrea stands at the doorway on the Room 1 side, and attacks if there's room next to Feargus and Gardo.

Aldus slips towards the back of the group, to stay out the way of those who can do some damage. "Wulfka, pass Thimble to Casfrea! Where's that religious boy? Mr. Meri? Think your divinities might have some input on a situation such as this?"

Feargus

Feargus backs completely out of the room with the sarcophagus and yells at Goshawk, "Run up to 'Lefty' (Feargus' packhorse) and get my pack of holy water. Anybody else have a weapon that can hurt these things that I can borrow?"

He watches carefully if Casfrea grabs Aldus' sword and takes a place blocking the door. Feargus will take a place blocking the doorway if there is any room even though he can't hurt the mummies right now.

Newton has already offered his axe to Feargus, and I think TK has assumed it's been handed over:

Round Three

The adventurers reform and redistribute their weaponry. Newton casts a spell that outlines the trio in an otherworldly green glow, bringing their forms in to sharp focus in the dim room. The companions can see that the creature emerging from the sarcophagus is another mummy, with the same peat-dark hide. This creature is wearing a funerary mask of some sort, fashioned to resemble a porcine human face! Telemachus, before the line closes, tosses a flask of oil towards the shambling monsters; it hits one and douses it in oil, which a quick thinking Casfrea then sets ablaze with a torch. The creatures close. Both Feargus and Gardo strike the mummy that is ablaze; it looks severely wounded but remains on its feet. Casfrea is, unfortunately, unable to get in close enough to strike a blow. Goshawk, upon hearing the shout for holy water, jumps and runs out the door!

The two creatures swing with murderous intent but both warriors are able to jump and jive out of the way. The figure wearing the funerary mask climbs out of the sarcophagus and shambles towards the party, but finds the two other unead blocking its path!
Let me know if you want to do anything different; otherwise I'll just go ahead and roll out multiple rounds of combat.Initiative, PCs first:: 2#1d6 6 4
Mummy: 17, 25-3-7-9, 40
Finally, PCs go first! Everyone gets a +2 bonus to hit from faerie fire.
Telemachus: Dexterity check to throw oil, must roll a 9 or under:: 3d6 9 Which mummy: http://orokos.com/roll/743395: 1d2 2 That hits and coats mummy #2: http://orokos.com/roll/743396: 1d8 5
Gardo: http://orokos.com/roll/743397: 1d20+9 24 1d8+4 9
Feargus: http://orokos.com/roll/743398: 1d20+8 23 1d8+6 10
http://orokos.com/roll/743399: 2#1d2 2 2

Actually, you know what, I'm going to say that rather than doing half damage on a target the mummy's reduce damage by 2 for each successful attack against them. Otherwise, I could see this combat draggggggggging out.
Mummies attack: First attack against Feargus, second against Gardo:: 2#1d20+5 10 12 2#1d12 3 6

Telemachus

Telemachus grabs another oil flask and throws it at another mummy.

Casfrea attacks if there's room; if not, she grabs another torch from Telemachus' pack and lights it.
Future rounds: Telemachus tosses oil, Casfrea either joins melee or helps with lighting mummies on fire.

Future rounds: assisting in oil attacks (with Nald) if space allows. Can he detect any magic on the mummy with the funerary mask?

Oh, yes. The mask is glowing, and there's a glow coming from the sarcophagus, as well.

Gardo

Eyes widening with delight as the creatures are surrounded by a glow, Gardo encourages his companions. "Whoever did that, don't let it stop! They want a fight and I am to give them one! Feargus, let's show them why the living still have the upper hand. That new one is really going to be fun when he gets here! I can't wait to see what he's got."

(Years of having to fight his brothers have warped his mind about what is fun and not.)
