Maag quickly loads his crossbow. He waits until he has an angle that won't hit Saracen if it misses the Minotaur, then takes the shot.

Light Crossbow (Dex Bonus:+2 THACO: 18) To Hit: [1d20] = 2 Damage: [1d4] = 3
Chance of being Suprised: 33%

Oh dear...this is not going according to plan. Lerrick drops her side of the rope and brings out her sling, equips a bullet. Once the minotaur is committed to chasing Saracen, she fires

Sling Attack and Damage roll respectively: [1d20] = 16[1d4+1] = 1+1 = 2

Alordan sees the action unfold... torn between seeing his comrades through to safety and attacking a creature from behind.... those listening closely will hear a whispered "I'm sorry..." as he unleashes his bow upon what can only be assumed is his enemy...

Short Bow Attack [1d20+3] = 17+3 = 20 (THACO=18)
Short Bow Attack [1d20+3] = 15+3 = 18 (THACO=18)

Short Bow Damage [1d6] = 2
Short Bow Damage [1d6] = 5

The Search For The Way Out
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Noon, Hot, Humid, Damp


Saracen takes off out of the cave, taunting and stabbing the beast as he passes by. The partially blind minotaur becomes enraged by this, chasing off in the direction of the half-orc.

Filling up the crowded entrance of the cave, the others all open fire at the fleeing monster. Maag shoots a bolt into the side of the cave wall while Gramble throws a hand ax that falls short.

Lerrick hits the monster in its back with her sling stone and Alordan reluctantly fires two arrows into the creatures back as well.

The minotaur takes each shot in stride, sniffing the air as it continues its pursuit of Saracen. Once it thinks it has pinpointed the location of the smelly warrior, it charges, just missing with a vicious goring attack.

Actions?

Saracen will keep his distance, moving away backwards carefully back towards the cave mouth but not closer than 30’, remaining as quiet as he can but keeping his sword at the ready incase it closes the distance. If it does he will lash out at it with his longsword.

The half-orc slings his crossbow over his shoulder and steps as quietly as he can out of the cave. Then he quickly hoists himself up onto the top of the circling rocks.

Climb Walls (90%) [1d100] = 36
Chance of being Suprised: 33%

The cleric stays at the entrance of the cave. Not knowing whether she is in range of the foe she fires another projectile anyway.

To hit and damage rolls respectively: [1d20] = 18[1d4+1] = 3+1 = 4

She then turns around to scan the room to check on the sleepy paladin and to see if anything is approaching from within the cave.

Maag cant get a good shot from the crowded cave entrance, so he decides to stow his crossbow and begins climbing up the ring of rocks again. Gramble looses a dagger next, still unable to hit anything from the close confines of the entryway.

Saracen stays quiet and backtracks towards the cave opening again while the others continue firing. The minotaur gets more enraged by the second, swinging wildly with his ax and grunting as if it were possessed. 2 more arrows and a stone pelt the beast as he howls in blind anger. Hearing the noise from behind him, he turns and charges in that direction next, heading straight back towards the cave mouth, leading with his massive horns.

Lerrick wisely keeps a close eye on the cave behind the group, in case something sneaks up unheard. Crestbrook is still there, and still being uncharacteristically quiet.

Actions?

He will take a swing with his sword as he moves closer to it and then once done will back away quietly once again.

[1d20+3] = 13+3 = 16 : [1d8+4] = 3+4 = 7 : [1d12+4] = 6+4 = 10

Not including any possible bonuses for rear or flank attacks or the minotaurs blindness

With more space and a better view up on the rock, Maag's next shot is much more accurate.

Alordan will try to pull on the net that straddles the cave entrance to trip it up. Time permitting he will slice at it with his sword...

Long Sword Attack [1d20+1] = 10+1 = 11 (THACO=18)
Long Sword Damage(+1 str/+1 weapon) = S/M: [1d8+2] = 7+2 = 9 / L: [1d12+2] = 8+2 = 10

Maag shoots the minotaur as Saracen rushes up from behind it again, hacking away with his sword. Lerrick lets fly another stone while Gramble prepares to swing at it with his ax if it enters the cave.

Alordan drops to his knees and yanks hard on the huge net that was laid out on the ground before the group entered the cave a few hours ago. This move appears to work the best on the blind bullman, as one hoof gets caught up in the thick ropes and trips it up, causing it to slam into the side of the cave entrance.

Once down, Gramble steps up and hacks into its prone body with his huge ax, snuffing the last breath of life out of this minotaur as well.

Looking around the now empty ring of stones, the group is perplexed to find that the bloody chunks that this monster was munching on were the remains of the last minotaur they killed here. :shock:

Gramble hefts his axe and removes the beasts head

you can never be to sure

he will then gather his dagger and hand axe

Alordan, breathing heavy and bloody, will quickly search the remains of the new Minotaur before wrapping up his net and heading out to the boat with the rest of the group.

The cleric breaths a sigh of relief. I'm glad that is over. She then makes a quick search for the sling bullets, gathering them up, then prepares to leave the island with the others. Let's not forget him...although I think several of you would like too, Lerrick states with a warm smile while staring in the direction of the slumbering paladin.
