Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Kaltar dumps his pack again and readies his mace, he will hold his ground for now, awaiting the result of the group's missile fire.

Garth answers ib the affirmative. "Aye, we ought to do it the same way even." Turning to the south, he joins the group.
Dave, just a point. I forgot about the 'Armor' spell last battle, not sure how you want to handle it.

Alordan will stick close to the Inn and the Wine building an await the approaching trogs from the south to come into range. He will position himself left or right to be able have a clear shot at the trogs.
Hope the first day went well!
Hope the first day went well!
Decisions. Decisions.
I'm still not sensing a clear group consensus, so continue to feel free to clarify your actions.
The group is torn on how to proceed regarding the known advancing group to the south and the unknown fire and its cause to the east, with Gwilt and Strom voicing differing opinions:
Noting the smoke, Gwilt shakes his head."What now? A fire? I'd say that's supposed to be a distraction. Lets let the townsfolk take care of the fire; we should take care of the stinky threat to the south." Strom spits on the ground. Another group? Egad, I hope they don't stink as bad as the rest. He looks towards the smoke then back again. Perhaps we should pull back to investigate the fire. It is not good saving a town from attackers if it burns down anyway.
Gwilt also queries the elf: "What was that spell you cast on those orcs the other day? Think you can do that again?" Garth, with the magical energies for the Sleep spell still circling in his head looking for a release, nods affirmatively. "Aye, we ought to do it the same way even." he concurs.
The halfling quickly disappears to the southeast, while Alordan places himself between the Inn and the wine building, awaiting the approaching trogs from the south to come into range.
"Ders too many ta split our own strength ta check yonder fire AND fight. Deys doin der job well!" Grimnail starts eyeing the ground for more dropped javelins and scoops up what he can in a round or two. (This latest group that you quickly dispatched of did not have any javelins, but there were still six remaining from your initial battle. As you're the only one expressing any interest in them, I have no problem assuming you collected them all and are currently in possession of them.) "Gimmie a good sword armed fella or two ta hold 'em off a bit while someone checks dem fires! No sense us fightin an dyin if it's all gonna burn anyhow! Some'un tell dems townfolks dat be hidin ta grab buckets. Dey either fight 'n lizzies er fires!" With troglodyte javelins in hand, Grim will rush to close distance with trogs.
The troglodytes themselves continue to advance (but are still a round away from being in 'long' range of those with ranged attacks).
---
Nuke66, regarding the Armor spell, we will need to assume that it was in affect when the game began and will last until absorbing 9 points of damage (you/it have taken 7). Since it's possible one of the two hits you took may have actually missed (the die roller isn't loading so I can't look it up), I'll give your armor a +3 "bonus" of sorts, so it will withstand 5 more damage before being dispelled. I have updated the Signature to reflect this.

Gwillt sticks to building cover when possible as he takes a flanking position against the approaching trogs.

Kaltar stands with Ewell, having a few practice swings with his trusty mace.

Epsilon will slip off towards the fires trying to use buildings as cover so he isn't just running around in the open.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Strom calls to the group I will see to the fire and return. If there are enemies there I will die before I let them take you from behind. He claps Kaltar on the shoulder and quickly moves toward the fire to investigate.
Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Sometime during Shannigan's sprint to the southeast, he breaks stride just enough to cast one of his cantrips, the changing of his cloak's color to a more abundant grassy green.
Incoming
Grimnail continues his charge and, with his speed, will easily reach his targets with his next action.
Gwillt sneaks forward and positions himself behind the outhouse of the Goat, thinking the smell is only somewhat better than that of the troglodyte he's preparing to face. Alordan remains between the Inn and the wine building, awaiting the approaching trogs from the south to come into range. Garth sneaks up behind the Goat and peers around the corner awaiting the beasts to come into range so he can attempt to put them to sleep.
Ewell holds tight to his sword and prepares for the incoming trogs. "I will hold off these things. But, I agree someone should help the locals with their fire. Just be careful. It could be a trap... Kaltar stands with Ewell, having a few practice swings with his trusty mace.

The large group of advancing troglodytes -- half of them appearing unarmed while the other half are armed with javelins -- close to within striking distance of Grimnail next round.

A few notes:
Epsilon and Strom will need a round or two to reach the fire. I will also need to either build a newer "close-up" map of that area, or use the overall map of the city and describe the how, what, where of the situation... still deciding how to handle that one. Either way, you two will be getting your own thread shortly.
A note to the archers, Grimnail will be a potential target if firing into the group, but given how seriously he is outnumbered, you will have very high odds of hitting him.
From his current position, Garth will not be able to reach the scaly beasts with Sleep unless: A) He advances closer, or 2) Some of the incoming back pass Grimnail and continue on towards the rest of the group.

All players can begin declaring your actions and making rolls for the first round, and I will need a single d10 initiative roll for the group.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Good guys vs. trogs, Take 3:
Initiative [1d10] = 7
(Not that it matters; they seem to go first most every time...)
"Dammit..."Gwillt mutters to himself as the barbarian's headlong rush spoils any chance of the rangers getting any shots off before they engage the trogs in melee.
OOC: Cant speak for anyone else, but Gwillt won't ever fire not a melee if there is a chance of hitting a party member, how ever slight the chance... Just something to keep in mind for future fights, Tooly.
Gwillt shoulders his bow and draws his scimitar, calling out,"Garth... We need that spell..."as he slowly steps out into the open, drawing attention to himself and trying to will some of the trogs to come at him.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
On Kindle and it's not letting me scroll to the bottom of my post in 'edit' mode, so here are two corrections from proofing my post:
1) The archers will have a low chance of hitting Grimnail. Hopefully that was obvious, but I'll clarify just in case.
2) "back" = "pack" in my notes about the Sleep spell.

Re: 08. Another Wave... of Nausea
Alordan is moved by the barbarians bravery at attacking the group of trogs single-handedly. Not so moved, however, that he won't fire into the attacking group to lend him a hand. "Looks like there's plenty of targets to go for to help the guy out..." he thinks.
Alordan will advance as needed to get within range as the barbarian will likely halt the progress of the group to some extent.
Bow Attack - [1d20+4] = 6+4 = 10 (THAC0 = 20)
Bow (Normal) - Damage [1d6] = 2
Bow Attack - [1d20+4] = 20+4 = 24 (THAC0 = 20)
Bow (Normal) - Damage [1d6] = 5 (rolled it, but I think should be max damage at 6)
For natural 20:
Bow Attack - [1d20+4] = 18+4 = 22 (THAC0 = 20)
Bow (Normal) - Damage [1d6] = 2

The halfling continues SE, searching for signs of combatants, but now at a lower, slower and stealthier pace.

oh...and Ewell does not take kindly to anyone trying to take his naturally deserved glory away... So, he progresses toward the scalies sword in one hand, shield in the other. He can't have the half-orc get credit for this victory.
what is the smell/strength situation? Another roll?

With a battle cry loud and long (attempt to intimidate) Grim hurls a javelin at nearest scaly combatant.
Javelin:[1d20+4] = 12+4 = 16 Thac0:20 Damage:[1d8+3] = 5+3 = 8 (strength returned? )
After the throw Grim will turn and bare arse to the trogs then run full speed toward the west "?" Building giving others a chance to flank if the trogs follow. If the trogs don't follow Grim after a round he will turn to fight again.
