"I just received the drake parts from the tanner two days ago, and have already begun looking for a buyer. I will let you know when they sell."
I've got a private subforum set up with a parallel time tracker where I track stuff like this. I'll let you know when they sell.

Thirdmonth, Twentiethday
Hex 73.47

The adventurers head back out. Around midday they come across the ruins of the "bridge" the goblin had mentioned. It looks to be a continuation of the same aqueduct the companions had seen to the north and were so curious about. At the southern end the upper section is collapsed, creating a sheltered opening. From this opening the adventurers can see a long, stoat-like muzzle protrude, sniffing the air curiously at their approach. Whatever manner of beast it belongs to looks like a weasel, or something similar, but giant. Probably at least the size of a horse.
Adventurers explore subhexes 0406, 0407, 0306. Encounter den of giant weasels in subhex 0407. http://orokos.com/roll/740322: 1d6 4 1d6 3 5d10 30 2d6 8

"If this critter isn't a problem, then I don't see why we don't leave it be. Let me try and talk to it"

He will slowly climb off of his horse and move gradually forward until he is 60 yards away. If nothing untoward happens this far he will cast Speak With Animals
I believe the spell has a 60 yard range outside, twice as far as the clerical version of the spell

Feargus

"Goshawk, dismount and follow with your polearm."

Feargus dismounts and follows a few steps behind Newton, letting him try to talk to the beast. "The thing is huge. If there's more than one and it has any resistance to us being here, we will have to clear the den out.

p. 39 of LL AEC -- which we're using for the time being until I can get my hands on the OSE Advanced Guide -- has the range at 30 yards, but also functions on giant sized versions of normal animals.
The spell takes affect. Newton's words emerge as a series of squeeks and almost chirps. The giant weasel looks at him quizzically, and another head emerges from the darkness, then another, then another, until there are four giant weasels staring at the scout. "What business do you have with the House of Frenata, two-legs?" the first one hisses.

"Greetings, we mean you no harm. Are you Frenata then, and this is your house, and family? We had been told you lived here and wanted to see your fine den as we passed by. Do you get many two-leg visitors?"

Sorry for the confusion. The druid version of the spell is on p47 of LL AEC, referring back to the cleric version, but has the longer range. If we're using the cleric version, then I'm cool with that.

Giant Weasel

"Noooo," hisses the weasel, "not many two-legs, although there were some smaller green ones we slew and ate a few moons ago. And yes, we are the Frenata, the Hunters in the Dark, the Cunning Ones. Our fame must be widespread, then. It is I, Nagarackakra, that caught and slew the pike last winter, when the river was frozen and food was scarce. It was nearly as long as I, with teeth that left this scar," a foreleg emerges from the warren, and there is indeed a ragged section of shiny skin with no hair, "but it was I who was victorious, and dragged it here to feed my family."
Sorry, didn't even flip to the druid page, since I knew it was in the cleric spell list. We'll assume you guys are around 45' away, then.

"Most impressive Nagarackakra, you are clearly a good fighter and provider for your family. I am Newton. We met some of the green two legs a few suns ago, they attacked us, we killed many and their leader told us of you. The green two legs are dangerous. We tall pale two legs call ourselves 'men'. Our home is across the big river." he gestures towards Junction "Some of us men are friends to the creatures of the wilds, but many are not. There are going to be more men traveling the land and it would be best for you and your family to avoid them."
