Re: Taking The Search To Another Level
Sprig looks at Elitir and puts a finger to his lips, he then grabs a shoe off the nearby shelf and tosses it out the door and across the outer room towards the north wall. He then points to the carpet and mimes them all jumping on and flying to hover over the doorway.

Grossphil the Feeble
It takes straining effort to not gape at the epic flying carpet before him, but Grossphil wants to dart over to the southwest corner by the door to check out the assortment of items there in case anything might be useful. His garlic of extreme light still in hand, he moves to check it out. If he finds nothing super exciting (potions, rings, scrolls, anything he may recognize as something special or giving off a magical aura) then he will join Sprig as quickly as possible by the flying carpet to go for a joy ride. If he does find anything in the parentheses, he'll swipe them and then move to join Sprig.
And the unseen servant is still tasked with attempted disruption of Zemroy's spell casting, fruitless as it may seem.

Burning Down The Next Level
Day 5
Morning?
Grossphil is amazed by all of the eye catching items in this secret room. He rushes over to the corner with the normal wooden door and investigates the sacks there. He finds 2 of them to be filled with coins, and the third filled with small gems of varying color. Lying on top of one of the coin sacks is a rather nice looking amulet in what looks to be a very valuable platinum setting. The trained wizard isn't sure, but he would bet that this thing holds some magical properties.
Elitir kicks Finnigan awake again, going right back to her sling after he begins to rise up off of the floor. Once again her stone proves to be ineffective against the oncoming wizard.
Sprig realizes that the blind mage is able to track the noises they are making, so he decides to try something completely different. Tossing an old shoe through the stinking cloud, he motions for the others to be quiet, miming a suggestion that they should all try to ride out on the hovering carpet in the middle of the room. He rushes over to it and jumps on, with Grossphil right behind him. The thing somehow remains aloft under their meager weight.
Zemroy advances another three steps, apparently undistracted by Sprigs thrown shoe or the unseen mass in front of him. He continues waving his arms and wiggling his fingers, causing a huge dark mass of spider webs to appear from floor to ceiling in an extremely uneven fashion in front of the open door separating the rooms. The gobs of web entrap Finnigan, who was closest to the door, but Elitir is right there to cut him free again. Once the thick strands are anchored in place, Zemroy tries his pleasant charm on the party once again. "You don't all have to die in there! I really just want revenge on the bastard who killed my Tinky! If you separate yourselves from the elf, and let me take him, I will allow the rest of you to leave this place freely. Refusal will end badly for you all."
Then everyone hears what sounds like Zefarrel's voice coming from the other side of the webs. "Frey, Hold this black-hearted soul in place and we will eliminate its evil root!"

Grossphil the Feeble
Grossphil actually gives a bit of a smile, for both the reminder of him being the one to have slain Tinky and because Zemroy unintentionally gave the party some time by blocking his own entry to the room with webs. With that thought in mind, Grossphil is going to hop off the flying carpet and go back to check out the amulet that caught his eye. He wishes to study it a bit, check for any writing (magical or otherwise), engravings, runes, or any clues as to what it may do.

Finnigan quietly thanks Elitir for waking him and then cutting him free of the web.
Are they all pulled back into the secret room now at this point? If not, let's do that. Close the door and heal if we can.

Zefarrel is disappointed her spell failed again, but still determined. She immediately begins another, quicker spell. SLEEP she commands Zemroy.

Elitir
Once Elitir has Finnigan free she starts cutting her way through the webs so Zefarrel can get to them or vice versa.
Trying to distract Zemroy so he doesn't focus on the cleric. "If you think we would give up one of our own to you, you are even stupider than I think Zemroy."

Burning Down The Next Level
Day 5
Morning?
Inside the secret room, Sprig tries to get the floating carpet to....well.....fly, but his methods so far don’t seem to have any effect on the rug. Grossphil hops back off to check out the amulet he found near the wooden door. It is indeed covered in magical glyphs and sigils, and he even recognizes a few of them. He is certain that the symbols of the 4 major elements are there, earth, fire, air, and water. He also spots a few symbols that might represent the outer planes of existence. Unfortunately, much like Sprig and his rug, the elf has no idea whatsoever how to activate the item.
Once Finnigan is free of the webs, he tries to usher everyone away from the door when he remembers that it opened out into the other room and is now trapped in the gobs of webbing. Elitir is having none of that. After hearing her adventuring sister’s voice still trapped by herself in the other room with the obviously demented magic user, the half-orc begins cutting the sticky strands. The horrid stink from the gaseous cloud starts to permeate the webs as she chops away at them, making slow progress.
Zefarrel’s disappointment over her last spell is short lived, allowing her to get the jump on the blind wizards who she now bravely faces all alone. The casters face off in a race to see who gets their spell off first. The 2 Zemroy's point their fingers in the direction of the cleric as she aggressively commands the old men to sleep. A satisfying grin covers the face of the priestess when, as if he hadn't had a decent rest in many months, the 2 graybeard's slowly slink to the floor and fall fast asleep at Zefarrel's feet.

Elitir
Elitir continues to try to clear the webs. "Finnigan, give me a hand. Zemroy is down and we need to finish this quick."

Re: Taking The Search To Another Level
Finnigan helps the half-orc clear a path through the webs so they can finish off the sleeping mage once and for all.

Re: Taking The Search To Another Level
That is incorrect.
There is nothing in the description of that spell that mentions the mage is required to continue concentrating on the mirror images once they appear.
It does state that the images only fade after being struck, so that is what I will go with here.

Huh. Ok. Guess I always assumed that when a MU went unconscious that any spells they had actively going on would end.OGRE MAGE wrote:That is incorrect.

Finnigan goes to the left-most version of the mage to finish him off...

Re: Taking The Search To Another Level
I don't think that is the case, but if you know where that rule is stated in the books, I could be easily swayed to change my mind on that.
And......Finnigan is still trapped in the room behind the webs, so that action will need to wait.

Grossphil the Feeble
The elf glances over and sees the fighters making little progress with the webs so he calls, "Elitir you could use your tinder box to make a little fire to burn through the webs. Might go faster."
Curiosities about the amulet will be put aside for now, and Grossphil will move his attention to the sack of gems. He wishes to see how many there are and attempt to determine if any could have magic properties.

“Forward!” says Sprig in mild frustration. If nothing (probably) happens, he’ll jump down and run over to help cut the webs, drawing his short sword as he goes...

Burning Down The Next Level
Day 5
Mourning?
Grossphil searches through the sacks piled near the wooden door, specifically the one containing the gems. He finds dozens of normal colorful stones, ranging in size and value from a few gold pieces to others of extreme value. None of them appear magical or special in any way. This cache of coin and gems seems like it might have been stored right in this very spot for a specific reason. He starts to wonder if they were left right here as an emergency escape stash of some kind, and that’s why they were placed so close to this door.
Sprig commands the floating rug to move forward, but again nothing happens. His arcane knowledge reminds him that, like his newly found magic fly, many items crafted by others of his profession require a magical command word to operate. He eventually joins the fighters at the webs, helping them cut through the lower strands where he can.
Elitir gruffly dismisses the elf’s suggestion, seemingly very hesitant to use fire here, possibly annoyed by the taste of hot smoke that lingers on her breath from Sprigs potion still burning a hole in her pocket. The homely half-orc finds the task of slashing a doorway through the thick, sticky webs difficult with her normal blade, but Finnigan makes much better progress with his mighty magical ax. After a short time, the trio cuts enough of the webs away to be able to see the stinking vapor cloud that is still partially blocking access to the room. As he continues to hack wildly in hopes of joining Zefarrel in the next room, Finnigan is pretty sure he will finally be through the web wall if he can land a few more well placed slashes.
Smashing her hammer into the head of the left Zemroy, the priestess of Frey feels only hard stone beneath her blow while the image of the sleeping mage suddenly vanishes. When she moves to do the same thing to the only remaining image, Zemroy rolls towards her as he pulls out a small, glass object from his belt pouch. Holding the shot glass sized cone to his mouth, he speaks in the direction of Zefarrel. “This is a very dangerous place child. Leave this room now, and do not return. It is for your own safety!” Save vs. Spells, please. (Failure = Flee)
