Sir Crestbrook the Mighty

After jerking back the touch from Maag the paladin can't help but notice the condition of the tunnel walls. Comrades...I've never seen walls of caverns so clean. Waving those around him to come closer. There are no rocks or debris anywhere. This is incredibly strange. Be cautious everyone. Good thing I am here with my blade to offer protection.

Lerrick

The cleric slides her hand against the wall for a few feet, then inspects her hand. He's telling the truth about the walls everyone. Strange indeed.

It’s almost as if something large, or lots of small somethings, picked them clean. Whatever it is that fears down here I hope we don’t meet it. the orange robed half-orc says earnestly.

He holds his sword and shield tightly as he continues in his spot in the marching order n

Welcome, To The Cave, On Minotaur Island
Freeday, 12th of Goodmonth
Early Morning, Warm, Humid, Damp

Maag presses Saracen to continue straight in order to avoid the strange fragrance they detected from the southern tunnels. After a few more steps, the group comes out into a wider portion of the tunnel with 2 more tunnels branching off from it. Here they find yet another statue of a minotaur, looking very much the same as all of the others they have encountered so far. This one has a very angry and disgruntled look upon its face. This room is immaculately clean, just like the tunnels they have been through so far.

Saracen hands Maag the piton again and indicates the wall near the sealing for another arrow etching, to indicate where the way out is to be found.

Either these minotaurs have all been turned to stone magic of this sculptor is a genius. Any tracks other than ours you can see here Alordan? the half-orc asks hopefully, looking around himself as well

I don't like any of this, do we have anyone who is skilled at looking for traps ahead of us?

Maag

Maag scrapes the ceiling again with the piton and also makes his charcoal mark near the base of the wall.

Hearing Saracen's comments about the statues, he adds his own remarks. "Yeah, i'm finkin' it's got to do wiv magic meself. I mean, where would der bloke find der time to make dem all, if it's not magic?"

"But dey might be useful if we get lost in 'ere. Somebody make a note of wot order dey are in. Like, 'dis one is der first one at der entrance, den dis one, den der next one' "

When he hears somebody talk about being at the front finding traps, he looks around guiltily. "Well, me legs a bit knackered from jumpin' down on dat minotaur before. I'd be slowin' us all down yer see? Anybody want to borrow me big pole?" He holds out his 10' bamboo staff.

Sir Crestbrook the Mighty

The paladin jumps at Maag's offer, valiantly walking over and accepting the pole from him. Follow me all! He hands the touch to the cleric, who looks at him as if to say "why'd you hand me this?" Not waiting for a reply the paladin heads towards the path to the north. Come everyone. Lerrick hold the torch close or give it to someone who can fight. Sir Crestbrook holds his sword in his right hand and the pole in the other. He takes a deep breath and bravely moves forward, tapping the pole on the ground ahead of him and the sides of the walls.

Lerrick

The cleric desperately looks for someone else to hold the torch. Any takers?

Saracen and Maag take the time to mark the top and bottom of the wall again in this larger area. They comment on how many of these statues, that probably aren't really statues at all, there are, and on how they each look a little different. Alordan looks at the floor here and finds it just as clean as the walls. He doesn't spot a track anywhere along the hard stone floor.

Gramble doesn't like the looks of this place, asking why the thief isn't in front, looking for any nasty traps as they move deeper in. Maag respectfully declines, on account of his bum ankle. This is all the Mighty Sir Crestbrook needs to hear. He bravely takes Maags pole and heads right up to the front, handing his torch to Lerrick and proceeding north, tapping the floor with the big bamboo as he does so. Lerrick looks around at the others, hoping someone else wants to hold the groups only light source.

The brave paladin finds only more intersections in the passages and yet another stoned minotaur carefully positioned in a natural alcove in the wall.

Maag

Maag sees Lerrick's unease with carrying the torch. "I'll carry dat if yer like", he offers. "Yer'll 'ave to wait a mo' though. Looks like I'm gonna 'ave to climb up an' scratch anuvver arrow in der roof".

He waits to see what happens when the party reaches the intersection, and assumes they will continue to follow the obviously less dangerous path of moving left.

Maag watches Sir Crestbrook's reckless march through the dangerous tunnels with concern. It took Maag a while to find and cut down that bamboo pole and he doesn't want Sir Crestbrook to fall into a trap and break it.

Sir Crestbrook the Mighty

The paladin take a quick check behind him before he proceeds. Stay alert everyone He moves slowly, tapping the long pole in front of him, then on the sides of the cave walls and ceiling, before taking a step forward. He proceeds, barring any discovery or triggering of a trap from the pole, to the intersection and looks to the right and left at the T intersection.

Lerrick

As the cleric passes the statue to her left, she quickly pokes it with her staff checking for any movement. Ya never know she whispers to those around her who question her action.

After marking the tunnel wall again, the more experienced members of the party seem certain that something isn't right in here with all these weird statues around. Lerrick pokes at the nearest one with her staff as she passes. It feels pretty stoney to her. She just shrugs.

Maag fears for his pole as Crestbrook moves up all of 10 feet to the next intersection. There he sees only more of the clean stone passages branching off into darkness in both directions. No light, sound, or smell come from either tunnel. Maag jerks his head towards the left passage as he takes the torch from the groups cleric.

Maybe that is the case with the passage to the right. The one to the left branches off to two different directions. With that said the paladin moves slowly to the right poking the ground in front of him and the walls and ceiling before moving a couple more steps

Maag

Maag holds his tongue when the group decides to go to the right. He reasons that if Sir Crestbrook does set off some kind of trap, his bloodcurdling screams will at least be an improvement over his usual shouting.
