Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Gwilt quickly shoulders his bow and draws his scimitar. Following the large knight's lead, he heads towards the trogs fighting the farmers.
He will leave the closer trogs for the others and attempt to engage his first target, a3, or a8.
To Hit, Scimitar [1d20+4] = 12+4 = 16 (hits AC 4)
Damage, Scimitar [1d8+3] = 3+3 = 6

Kaltar drops his pack by the inn and moves up with Gwilt to aid the closest group of farmers.
If he can strike too:

Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Not wishing to risk friendly fire with the battling towns folk, Alordan draws his long sword and looks to assist the friendly folk from the Inn getting pummeled:
Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 1 (THACO=20)
... and still staggering from the nausea, swings his blade horribly....
OOC: should have stuck to the bow... what's my role for a sword critical miss again?

Critical Miss - rolling to hit again:
Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 15 (THACO=20)
Breaking percentage if miss:
[1d100] = 23
Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
I think you're good. When you get a critical miss, you roll another To Hit. If that one hits, then you just fumble your round and mess up your attack. You don't have to roll the breaking percentage chance unless you miss the second To Hit roll. 15 probably got it.... I hope!ravenn4544 wrote: Thanks!

Strom moves forward to engage the nearest Trog, his sword moving slowly as he feels the effect of the stench rob him of his strength.

Round 2
The monsters act quickly, and claim another pair of victims as Searry and Otis quickly fall to the troglodytes they were faced up against. The other two locals, Norian and Theora, manage to escape with simple scrapes and keep fighting on.
The three entangled troglodytes north of the stream all have a javelin remaining, and use these weapons instead of fighting to free themselves. The first (l1) launches its javelin into the melee just north of where it stands stuck and accidentally strikes a fellow troglodyte (a8). The other two (sc1, a10) are close enough where they're able to simply poke at the equally stuck farmers (L4, L5). The locals are no match for the skilled troglodytes; their lifeless bodies collapse into the entangled mess.
Meanwhile, south of the stream, two of the entangled troglodytes remain stuck (a5, a9) while two others (a7, l2) manage to free themselves. "rukuh hakt khuh'" comes a mighty roar from the rooftop of the small farmhouse just south of the snared area. An olive skinned man runs from the lofty height and springs upon the pair of recently freed scaly humanoids (a7, l2), bowling them over, before quickly rolling with great agility into a standing position and drawing a black bladed scimitar to face the surprised troglodytes.
---
"That nice lady's in real trouble." Shannigans says as he fires off a Magic Missile, striking and hurting the unarmed troglodyte flanking Theora (a6).
Gwilt quickly shoulders his bow and draws his scimitar. Following the large knight's lead, he heads towards the trogs fighting the farmers, leaving the closer trogs for the others, before successfully slashing out and hitting the troglodyte hit by friendly fire moments earlier (a8), hurting it badly. Not wishing to risk friendly fire with the battling towns folk, Alordan draws his long sword and looks to assist the group to the north getting pummeled, but staggers from the nausea, missing badly. Ewell rushes to assist Theora, facing off against the sword-wielding troglodyte she's been struggling against. Unfortunately, the stench of the foul creatures proves to be too much of a distraction and the noble warrior is unable to connect. Kaltar drops his pack by the inn and stops short of Gwilt, next to Ewell, and bashes the flanking troglodyte (a6), dropping it. Strom moves forward to engage the nearest trog, but his sword moves more slowly than Kaltar's mace and he finds himself swinging at the space where the fallen troglodyte once stood.
Garth gets out his sling and starts to whack away at the trog closest to the edge of the entangled area (l1), but the stuck beast still manages to evade the strike.
Epsilon, clearly struggling with the affects of the creatures stench, quickly strips off his armor and drops his possessions.

longsword to hit (+3 str bonus): [1d20+3] = 18+3 = 21 , damage1d8 (+4 str bonus): [1d8+4 ] = 3+4 = 7

Kaltar also continues to whack the nearest trog:
Mace Action To Hit [1d20] = 6 Dam [1d6+1] = 5+1 = 6
But the stench proves too much this time and he misses.

Alordan attempts a sword swipe at the nearest Trog:
Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 11 (THACO=20)
Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 4+3 = 7 (5 damage adjusted for strength drain)
Long sword attack (Normal;) [1d20] = 11 (THACO=20)
Long sword (Normal; +3 Str Damage) - damage [1d8+3] = 4+3 = 7 (5 damage adjusted for strength drain)
Re: 07. Attack of the Scaly Things
Shannigans moves south to get a clear shot at a trog not in melee. He settles for an entangled foe that killed a farmer (sc1).
shortbow thac0 21 [1d20] = 9 dmg [1d6] = 1
With the poor placement, the halfling looks at the bow as if something must be wrong with it.

holy cow what has happened to the dice rolls. It will take 10 rounds at this pace (if we live) to finish these guys off.
