OOC and Q&A
Re: OOC and Q&A
My apologies. I thought we were already heading on, from the looks of Ingvar's actions, to where the creature came out of the water. Aside from a snide comment or two, Rodbert really had nothing more. As for directions, I'm torn. Tracking the thing hasn't been easy but following the tracks seems a better thing to make sure the thing is heading to the rock instead of going near there and waiting for us to show up just to surprise us.

I will get a post up tonight when I get home from work.
Re: OOC and Q&A
That's Demon Rock? Wow, it was so much smaller in my mind. Somehow, I was thinking some tall neolithic type stone standing upright with a pit next to it. A small mountain was not expected.
Do we want to go in there as darkness falls or try and rest (which may not work very well)?

Re: OOC and Q&A
I'd prefer to go in right now. We just have to make sure we can get back out again.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Honestly the pit looks like a death trap even without the demon. I am not sure about the swimming skills of the party, especially in metal armor. Even the small tunnel seems super dangerous, considering that you cannot turn around and its slope could change unexpectedly.
Unless... there is another way in.

Re: OOC and Q&A
I am assuming everyone is at least a crude swimmer. Swimming in armor isn't a good idea if you can help it. It is fall and the cold might be the worst thing of all once you are in the water.

Re: OOC and Q&A
Whats the plan moving forward?
Re: OOC and Q&A
I'd prefer to follow Rodbert's suggestion - down the hill towards east, look for signs of cave openings. Then continue along the base of the hill. Let's say starting towards southwest, or in clockwise direction.

Re: OOC and Q&A

Re: OOC and Q&A
Sorry for a delay, been sick since Thursday and just now becoming interested in anything besides sleep. Only thing I would add would be at the base of the rock to start the search heading around the base towards the direction that we would have come from (which is probably what Alver said but my mind is still cottony right now).
GreyWolf - was that supposed to say "no alternative plan"? My brain is a bit befuddled at the moment.

I have to be in to work early today so no time now, but I will get a post up tonight.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Dang, Tito. We dropping like flies around here.
I need two things, please. 1 - Tactical map of the current layout of everyone. 2 - How does any spellcasting work? A few moments of incantation or more instantaneous?

Re: OOC and Q&A
First the map.
I will post it in the IC thread.
Spell casting is instantaneous, but happens on its turn during initiative.
Recall that initiative is Dex + 1d6 - armor penalty
Also Rodbert is currently restraining Sheamus from reaching the pit. He will have to let go to spell cast.

Re: OOC and Q&A
How about a talent? What restrictions do we have there?

Re: OOC and Q&A
They work just like a spell.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Okay, even if it is an innate item, we are still treating it as a spell and the same conditions needed to cast a spell. Is that correct? I was hoping to get the light spell off without having to release Sheamus first.

Re: OOC and Q&A
I will rule you can get it off without releasing Sheamus but you can't use it to target the demon (blind it by casting it right in front of his eye). I consider that more difficult to do and impossible well rolling around with Sheamus. You can just cast it more or less in its general direction and let the dice determine how close you get, if that is what you are trying to do.
Re: OOC and Q&A
You read my mind. It's a difficult choice and this thing gives me the feeling that one screw up and many of us are toast.
I'll post something in the morning to get things moving.
