Okay; I was gonna put up the next post right about now; but lo and behold; it seems we have a volunteer to take over the role of Terra; welcome aboard Jedi Sklyer!

I'll give Jedi a day or two to get caught up and make a post if desired; and then I'll update the action tonight/tomorrow.

Welcome to the action Jedi....you're just in time for a shoot-out in a smoke-filled machinery shop on board a mortally-wounded Star Destroyer between 5 Rebel prisoner escapees (including 2 wounded) and 3 Stormtroopers....nice timing! :)

*twirls blaster into holster*

Thanks for the welcome...and I'm fresh out of gum. ;)

I'll look over the last few pages so I can make a post soon; I'll see about catching up on more of the story later as I have time.

Alright; next post is up...the action is ON!

With 4 active players again; I'm going to attempt to slightly speed up the flow of the game....hoping for 2-3 posts a week...though I of course understand that real-life may sometimes make this goal unattainable (and will surely be guilty of this myself sometimes!). In the meantime.....let the a$$kicking and bubble-gum chewing commence!

I spoke a little too soon...this week has been much busier than I thought; sorry! :(

Anyway; I should be able to update the game tonight/tomorrow.....probably tomorrow....AND we may be gaining yet another player: grey_starr

The only real way I can see bringing his character into the party is to say that he has been an undercover Rebel operative who has discovered that the ship is about to go "BOOM"; and that there are fellow Alliance members running around and has decided to hook up with them in an attempt to get off the doomed ship.

grey_starr; if all of this sounds cool with you; either PM me and/or use this thread to discuss the character you'd like to run and we'll get him/her statted out and into the game as soon as possible. In the meanwhile; please read up on the threads here to see the "story thus far"; and let me know if you have any questions/concerns. If all of this doesn't sound like your cup of tea; that's cool too; just let me know.

p.s. I guess the obvious question I should have asked was....have you ever played any RPGs? Any West End d6 RPGs in particular?

Either way....welcome aboard! (unless of course you decide otherwise! :) )

I have never had the opportunity to play Star Wars anything - even though I did buy the stuff for it :geek: like the D6, D20, Mini's, Cards, etc etc etc... I have played LOTS of AD&D 2E!

I have PM'd you several options to consider... from your choice I'll Doctor it into shape and go!

What are those "character points" that Grey Starr has?

Character points are used in advancement... Here is what I have learned of playing them in D6 Star Wars:

All characters start with a single Force Point and 5 Character Points, which may not be spent until after the first session. They may however, be used during the course of play to add temporary bonuses to actions. Force Sensitive characters begin play with an additional Force Point.

Also, they can be used during combat for enhancement... Characters may spend both Character Points, and Force Points to increase their ability to perform certain actions.

During adventuring you earn Character points. These can be spent to increase skills, attributes, and movement using these character points. Any time that you advance a skill, attribute or specialization, you may only increase it one pip at a time after an adventure.

Improving Skills: Character Point cost is equal to the number before the D of your skill. If your skill is 3D+1 then it costs three Character Points to move it to 3D+2 (raising 1 pip). The Character Point cost of specializations is one-half of the number before the D, rounded up. If improving a specialization from 5D+2 to 6D, the cost is 3 Character Points (five divided by two is 2.5, which rounds up to three).

Improving attributes: Attempting to improve an attribute costs 10 times the number of D before the attribute. So, to attempt to increase an attribute from 2D+2 to 3D, you must first spend 20 Character Points.
The risk: Because characters can only become so strong or so dexterous, there is a limit imposed on attributes. After spending the training time and Character Point cost, you must roll to determine whether or not you actually improve. You roll your current attribute die code (2D+1 for example). The gamemaster rolls your species maximum for the attribute (4D for humans). If your result is equal to or less than the gamemaster’s result, your attribute increases. If your result is greater, your character does not improve, and you receive half of the Character Points back.

(naturally, since I am a rookie - these may be 2E rules)

Grey Starr: Please check out the "House Rules/Modifications" thread; you'll see that I don't use Character Points or Skill Specializations or several others things from 2nd Edition (this game is mostly 1st Edition with a few changes).

Skill Points are used to advance skills; there are no points to improves rolls except Force Points: which increase all stats/skills by 3D for 1 round (house rule to tone down the "Double EVERYTHING" rule per the book).

I have adjusted your character to meet my rules; please check it out and see if it's all good with you. You are of course; welcome to make changes based on the new rules in the thread you find! :)

Also; please note that your character would currently be wearing a generic Imperial 'Grey' uniform with ISC insignia and would have a blaster pistol (Damage: 4D+2; Range: 30/60/120 meters)

Any questions?

*facepalms*

Hopefully you DO realize, the PLAYER is not a female...when they had no interest in anyone taking over Terra, I grudgingly took her on. It's my first time playing a female character.

In my first post - I am thinking most of my actions fall under my Knowledge 3D+1 (having been there to learn the systems) and Bureaucracy 4D+1 (getting past Imps without issue).

Okay; next post is up!

Jedi: Don't worry; you can make a new character if you like after this adventure is over. Basically; I didn't want to bump-off another of the original characters...and the only pilot in the group to boot! I've never had any problems playing female characters....probably a third or so of the characters I've created over the years have been ladies. To each their own though; sorry if it's really a problem!

grey starr: I mentioned this in the game post too; actually most actual USING Technology is gonna fall under MECH (flying ships, shooting X-wing lasers, etc.) or TECH (hacking into computers, tricking out Security programs, etc.).....KNOW will give you the 'background info' on it all; but not the practical application of it; if that makes sense? Like KNOWING what all the parts of a Car Engine are called and how they work together; and actually being able to work on a car engine.....if that helps...
