Campaign so far

#1 Post by wolfpack »

Just wanted everyones input.

How do you feel about the campaign so far? In paticular dave who has just jumped in.

it has been flowing like a campaign storyline, but if that isn't what you guys want you can do whatever you want.

there are events that will continue to evolve and the outcome depends on if you are involved or not, but it is your choice.

I will say I think that this has been a great game. It is nice having a group of experienced players who all work together.

I'm glad you agreed to resume the game, I felt bad for not being able to contribute more back when we started. It's nice to pick a character again after a few years.

For me all is good. :)

+1 I'm having a great time with it as well, Wolf! :)

I like the storyline. It progresses as we're struggling through completing our tasks but we all know that other things are happening and in play as well, which gives a great sense of urgency and import to our successes.

Plus it certainly doesn't hurt that we have a party of pretty darn good vet players here either! :D
Yosef Travathas: High Elf Fighter4/Magic-User3 (rredmond's Pacesetter Games "Legacy of the Unknown" OSRIC Playtest)
Brok Sterling: Human Assassin3 (ToniXX's Incursion into Newiron OSRIC Playtest)
Tanik Tremwoodak: Dwarf Cleric3 (Dave's 1e Skype Game)

DM: home-brew OSRIC "A New Hope to the West" campaign

Fireball... good!!

"What's it gonna take?"
"Everything."

I'm good. I'm only playing in two games right now, DMing three takes a lot more time that I think. :)

The bonus in this game too is I know all these guys pretty well. Heck some of us have even done some SKYPE gaming... though that's died down a bit :( , egads I feel like I've known Rodrigo forever from the internets. This game feels good, and was easy jumping back into. I like it.
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

+1 While not my first here, still one of my favorites! I really like how we started out and everyone's role-playing a bunch of childhood friends has been nothing short of Top Drawer. Playing Viktor has been an absolute blast. I very much like WP's resource materials and setting stuff he's put out over at DF and even ran HM1 The Disappearance of Harold the Hedge Mage as a pickup game at DunDraCon a few years back. Good times! 8-)

Btw, the multiclass-type classes for humans that we're using here is brilliant (From the Dragon Footprints e-zine, Vol 2 over at DF). It gives playing a human character much more range and depth. I love the Brigand class and thinks it a great alternative versus meeting the harsh requirements of the dual class character.

Heck ya it does! I was stoked when Recklessfireball decided to run his Star Frontiers game here. I had wanted to start one for a long time and would still love to do a 1E Metamorphosis Alpha or 1E Gamma World game as well some day...

But yeah, it's that time/availability thing. I wouldn't feel it fair to my current players in either of my groups, since I've struggled with my commitments to them for like months now. Not until I could get some more time to better manage things there and still have some free time to add another!

Thank goodness playing takes much less time! :P

Always down for another Skype or G+ session any time, Ron! ;)

While I did not get a chance to read the full history of the game, and I typically feel uncomfortable taking over characters previously run by other players, I have been having fun running Scythius so far.

Look at your emails from April 2008. I don't recognize all the folks there just by the e-mail address but I guess most are DFers so you might know who they are.
