Quinn steps back into the main hallway to address the group, "If the poem is to believed and is actually written in chronological order then its mention of colors does not apply until we reach the second great hall. Before that we must go through the arch or back to the tormentor. I belive that the arch is the misty passage at the end. Perhaps this hallway is the tormentor? Either way I feel more comfortable going through a normal door then messing with magical mists."

The murals surrounding the door are of a torture chamber.

McCloud notices how the glowing stones light up when he approaches the archway. he is still unnerved by the continual mist and not being able to see beyond it though Bindle has confirmed there is some floor at least one step into the corridor,

"how safe that is with all these pits around Bindle is anybodys' guess?". with that in mind McCloud will take a few minutes to examine each stone block that glows, dealing with the one on the left first then the keystone above and then the one on the right, all the time keeping one hand on his cutlass ready to strike any foe that appears.

Friends, I am an old man and I fully expect this may be the last place I see. That being said i've never been one to sit back on my hands and if I live a good drink is in my future. Im going through the mist

Bindle will slowly slip through the mist at first just a single finger and then barring injury he will continue to press through completely.

"wait old man", McCloud cries out, trying to grab hold of the hem of Bindles flowing robes, "fools rush in where angels fear to tread...!"

Skiiratch watches on with idle curiosity as the monk walks through the misty portal.

Only after he is part way through does the elf think to ask if he'd like to leave his special personal belongings behind for the rest of the party...

But, alas, it is too late. All he can manage is a quiet, "Damn..."

"Its got to be better to try where you can see before where you cant surely?" offers the holy man. He walks to join the others looking into the passageway through the now-revealed door.

McCloud examines the stones of the arch. He discovers that if you touch one of the 3 glowing stones it stops glowing for a few seconds.

Bindle reaches in the mist. It's cool and damp to the touch but causes no harm. He steps through and disappears from view.
AQuebman, look for a PM. Bindle steps through without harm, but the rest of the group can not know where you are. ;)

McCloud is guessing that old age impulsiveness (don't we all know some grumpy old men..?), got the better of Bindle and he stepped into the mist before McCloud could finish checking these stones in turn. He is thinking each colour represents something and checks the stones: He thinks aloud, hoping Bindle will echo some answer from the other side of the mist "yellow...amber light..proceed with caution, banana skin, vat of custard ahead.., blue stone....sky, freedom, water, electrical charge, orange stone....fire flames, light of eternal glory, vitamin C, torchlight, saffron robes of wraithly monk...Bindle, Bindle...?"

Each stone stops glowing as it is touched. Yellow, Blue, Orange...a few seconds pass and the stones glow again. There is no change in the mists or archway.

"Perhaps the stones need to be pressed in a certain sequence?"

OOC: Assuming the sequence requires all three colors (with no repeats) then there are only 6 possible combinations. Start going through all of those and see what happens. If that doesn't do anything I say we go through the door.

I think they are:

"Certainly looks like it Quinn?". McCloud, determined not to be beaten by some diabolical colour challenge, and possibly displaying his OCD nature, will stand at the archway playing 'glowing stone wack-a-mole' in various patterns and sequences; manically jumping about, arms flailing, kilt flashing until either Bindle re-appears, the mist evaporates or, most likely...someone finally taps him on the shoulder and says, "errr McCloud....I think we're going to try the door!".

Quinn watches intently as McCloud tries out the different stone sequences hoping that one of them will alter the appearance of the doorway or mist. Or give some other indication that they have worked.

Skarlos watches through the door in case any opposition appears. He casts frequent glances both back to the entrance of the tunnel and the group by the arch in case anything occurs.

McCloud tries each of the combinations and fails over and over again until he finally tries orange, blue, then yellow. The mists fade and reveal a long 10' wide hall stretching off into the darkness. The red tile path continues winding down this hall as well.

"Bugger..." Skiiratch mutters as the fog clears.

"Any sign of our friend there?"

"Ah ah!" exclaims McCloud who will do a 'victory' highland jig. "Tis orange, blue yellow...".

"well guys, whats behind your door up there? does it offer a better option...no sign of Bindle down here", McCloud will just check around the door for signs of footsteps from Bindle in the dust and for traps again, starting with the familiar red tile path, if the party decide to come this way then he will take point and move down the hallway.
