I love that Grenda and Norzak are dealing with a known alcoholic by enabling him. The guy is going to get the shakes and start hallucinating as he DTs on the adventure.

I hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and a Happy Holiday. Now that that the dust is settling, I will be replying tonight. I'd like to see the group on their way by years end.

Paul has 6 large sacks. If you all have some, that'd be good.

Paul is ready to go.

Re: marching order, watch order

Underground, Norzak should be the first.

I thought Fastolf is going to lead the way, so above ground the marching order could be:

(Fastolf)
Cedric
Norzak
Paul
Igneos
Aldredus
Grenda

This would work too:

(Fastolf)
Norzak
Paul
Grenda
Igneos
Aldredus
Cedric

Watch order:

Obviously, Cedric and Norzak should get full shifts. However, we have four spellcasters requiring 8 hours of sleep, how about this:

Grenda (2 hours)
Norzak (3 hours)
Cedric (3 hours)
Paul (2 hours, can pray during this time I guess?)

Total 10 hours rest, but it's winter anyway.

With 4 players on board with alver's suggestion for both marching order and night watch, we'll go with the majority.

I'll be rolling for a random wilderness encounter twice a a day, one for daytime and one for night. Buckle up!

tarlyn, you've listed Norzak as having both a battle axe and a war hammer. Both are two-handed weapons and dwarves cannot use two-handed weapons. Despite the rules, I'll allow a 'Dwarven' hammer and axe, both which requires a dwarf to use both hands and damage is 1d6+1.

Can we declare ourselves awake, or do we need to wait until we are told something has awaken us?

I'll wait for others to reply before posting again.....

Norzak is not the sharpest tool in shed, so to speak.

I'll be posting late tonight as the group moves on into the 2nd day of their journey to the mines. I believe there is a magicuser that used up a spell and won't be able to reacquire another one until the next camp.

Let's take a break for a couple days. I've got a niggling ache in my left chest so I'm going in for a stress test on Tuesday. If all's well and good as I expect it will be I will get back to posting Tuesday night.
