Re: OOC Chat
All equipped and ready to go, though I'm open to discussion for outfitting our party because Parson Paul Paulson is carrying 87lbs (moving at 10').
He has 14 days of food, 6 large sacks, a lantern, 10 flasks of oil. He's wearing chain mail and has a flail, sling, and 1 flask of holy water.
Do any of your characters have rope, spikes, more oil, holy water, paper, ink and quill for mapping, etc?

Re: OOC Chat
I have map-making supplies.
I'm saving up some money in the hopes of hiring some retainers to tag along. Although it's regularly touted as a key feature of old school play, I don't think I've ever been in a first level party that used any.
That said, we definitely need rope and climbing gear. If no one else has any, let me know, and I'll buy that before hirelings.

Re: OOC Chat
I could also go for cheaper armor. Because I've got no issue with hirelings absorbing damage on our behalf.
Re: OOC Chat
I've saved a lot of money to hire NPCs too.
Rusty, IMHO you can drop half of those rations, that would put you in the next encumbrance category.
I have 50 feet of rope.

What are we missing the most? Several thief skills are covered by demihumans, but I guess you could convince me to swap in my backup character who is a thief.spanningtree wrote:We need a thief....

Re: OOC Chat
I was thinking we'd be down in the dungeon for a long enough time that we'd want to have 2 weeks of rations.
Mr. GM, sir, what should we be expecting?

I'd keep the armor. Armor seems to be the area where the beginning character can do the most to increase their odds of survival.Rusty Tincanne wrote:I could also go for cheaper armor. Because I've got no issue with hirelings absorbing damage on our behalf.
Or maybe I'm just wistful for armor, since all my character has on is a thin robe with a nice floral motif.
Re: OOC Chat
I have gold leftover but never thought of hiring tbh lol
As for food I am about the same as you guys I got for ten days worth.

Re: OOC Chat
Does everyone agree that 10 days is a good amount to stock for? Does anybody need help paying for sufficient rations? Perhaps we should communally provision, once we've met and prepared to delve.

Sounds good to me.Pulpatoon wrote:Does everyone agree that 10 days is a good amount to stock for?
Let's get started though, you never know, could be one of these "you wake up naked and weaponless in a dungeon" things

I'd be surprised if we spend more that three days down under. But, I increased my holdings to 10 days just in case.

Please keep in mind that I will be watching how you will be handling the transport of treasure and whatnot as it relates to encumbrance (as well as it relates to mass and size).

Dwarven ones? I can see that. Ponies come in different breeds and sizes (in real life). I certainly can see smaller ponies used by dwarves for mining/general haulage. They would be a stocky sturdy animal. I will allow it, if that is your wish, but they cost the same.rossik wrote:DM, do dwarven poney exist? wink wink
Re: OOC Chat
the question came as a joke, but i would love to have one. mthe "joke" part came from a Tim Kask story about how in their game, someone invented the dwarven poney, a ferarless mini horse with high morale. Soon, all tables had one, and they were the main power house in the games. So, the Bulette was created, a horse devouring beastTamerlaine wrote:Dwarven ones? I can see that.
