OOC and Q&A
Re: OOC and Q&A
I guess I made an unnecessary initiative roll, but just to be sure: do we roll initiative once per encounter or once per round?
Re: OOC and Q&A
I prefer just once and then keep it. In the rules you don't roll at all, it is based solely on Dex (so it very rarely changes).
Re: OOC and Q&A
I will try to get an update up latter tonight, been crazy busy the last couple of days.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Ack! Sorry about all that extra repeated info in my post! I put it there for reference so I didn't have to keep switching tabs meant to delete it before posting.

Re: OOC and Q&A
No problem. I mess stuff up all the time.
Re: OOC and Q&A
I was hoping we can figure out IC what everyone thinks we should do. I vote for visiting Martin.Rex wrote:Actions? If there was anything you wanted to do before Sir Kathel returns slip it in and we will play it out before Sir Kathels return.
I also had some other ideas but after seeing Rodbert's action these can wait.
Re: OOC and Q&A
I think you are right, Martin is someone we should speak with. I didn't want to miss the opportunity to speak with one person who thinks something is wrong with the way things are being run.
I don't want Rodbert to be seen as a rogue player (that's his follower -
). I'm just following along with what I envision his character to be doing.
That being said.... the premise that we have adventured before would indicate that our characters know something about each other and know some of their quirks. But, I don't think we, as players, have really established that. Might it be a good thing for us to give some sort of background for each other that helps us understand why certain actions are being done?

I rely quite heavily on the Ljarl, which is the belief/ethics system of Ivinians, when deciding the actions of the characters, escpecially with Solvi. I had a clear concept for my main character, so I know more about his personality and he is a bit more of an independent thinker. That being said.... the premise that we have adventured before would indicate that our characters know something about each other and know some of their quirks. IMHO it would be fine if the characters do what they do and if there is some friction, they can surely patch this up somehow. And if they don't, we the players can force it OOC

Re: OOC and Q&A
I'm also interested in going to see Martin, maybe also starting up a hunting party for the orcs or trying to seek out the Taelda, although that could be a bad idea.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Sorry for the delay everyone, it has been super busy lately. I will try to get a post up latter today.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Okay, looks like Martin is going to get some visitors soon then.
Ingvar would also be quite enthusiastic about going orc hunting, if anybody suggested it. I agree that it is probably wiser not to try to seek out the Taelda for now.

Re: OOC and Q&A
I expected a bit of resistance, even coming off as an unwelcomed advance (how we define the #MeToo movement in this setting remains to be seen). Rodbert is a team player.... when the team's actions meets his ends. He's strong-headed and tries to prove things, even if it means causing friction at times, which he may or may not care about. She would have to physically threaten him for him to not pull that stunt again (a bit thick at times).alver wrote:My character would support Rodbert's action hereAnyway, I get the roleplaying thing and I'm totally guilty of having my follower react in a way to Rodbert's healing that is definitely not useful for party cohesion.

Hopefully it doesn't come to that. These characters have a mission and with the basic info we have now, only a really stubborn and willfully ignorant type would cause a major divide that ruins the chances of the group to accomplish the mission. Who knows what consequences could come down from the Sheriff (or higher) if it was shown that one's actions caused greater harm?alver wrote:IMHO it would be fine if the characters do what they do and if there is some friction, they can surely patch this up somehow. Re: OOC and Q&A
Poor Everard
He probably doesn't have a clue.
My impression is that at least 4 of the 7 attacks were during the daytime. That is from what the miners and Odell said. Only the last attack, Hakon, is confirmed to have happened during the night.

Re: OOC and Q&A
Correct on timing. Everard is a serf, trying to do a difficult job and keep his family from starving. I feel the fact that he was willing to risk his mercurial lords wraith shows that he has both balls and how desperate the serfs feel things have become.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Am I missing something here though?
I feel like if they don't harvest the crops, they're going to end up even worse when the winter comes. Dead or begging on the streets of Olokand (the lucky ones). The bogeyman should be the smaller of their problems compared to no food for the winter.

Re: OOC and Q&A
You are correct, but the boogeyman is an irrational fear that drives irrational acts.
Re: OOC and Q&A
I thought most of these happenings were towards the evening and night, times where shadows were a bit more plentiful. Easier to hide things.

Re: OOC and Q&A
About 50/50 as far as night and day. it doesn't seem to matter.
Re: OOC and Q&A
Here goes my speech. Risky, yes. Stupid, possibly. It just felt like the right thing to do...
