Off Duty (OOC)
Re: Off Duty (OOC)
I actually wanna do that when I get another bike one day, ectoify it up
Re: Off Duty (OOC)
I am not really sure the etiquette for rolling the dice, I assume to keep it easier to follow, in OOC red? I also am not sure how you want them rolled, I know on other forums you can type /roll or [roll xdy] but i know this has a dice roller thing with macros. so just wanted to see since you will need a brains roll.
Re: Off Duty (OOC)
You can post the link that the dice roller gives you in the IC Thread where it belongs. There isn't exactly an etiquette so to speak, just putting it in the post it is associated with. Some people like to put them in a spoiler box.

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
Ok, so use the roller. Gotcha, now to figure it out
Re: Off Duty (OOC)
You can make a new macro for your character. For Jason, your moves is 2. So what you need to set up would be to paste this command:Taaz wrote:Ok, so use the roller. Gotcha, now to figure it out
Moves(2): [1d6] Ghost: [1d6]
Once this is made and saved you will be able to go back to it any time and roll by just clicking on the gold dice icon. Makes things easier!

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
I added my roll result to my previous post. I got lucky, this time.
Re: Off Duty (OOC)
Don't forget when rolling you can declare before you roll that you are spending a Bp and add an extra dice to your roll.

Yeah i think the roll function wants to be fed. Ive seen dice bots like this, just we graciously welcome our robot overlords.

Maybe the roller is possessed by a ghost or two

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
Okay! So I see this is off to a rocky start and I feel like this is my fault. I was intending Mission 0 to be a kind of step by step, get used to the system type tutorial, but I should have provided more information in the front so my intentions were clear and leave it open to you, the players (and also accomplished GM DMs) to offer feedback. I apologize for that!
So this system is very much a storyteller type system. I will present a senario or address one a character has put themselves into. The narrative more than anything comes both first and last, with a roll(s) in the middle.
What I mean by that is that:
1 typically I will set up a scene such as the coffee shop job.
2 You guys will react to that scene by declaring what it is you hope to do.
3 I will then make a judgement based on the situation of what you would need to roll, such as a Moderate Cool or just outright give it to you as a free action if it seems reasonable or otherwise feel like the action can be pushed forward.
If you are getting ready to roll for something after this step, you simply declare that you want to use some Bp to up your chances at success, so lets say you want to burn 2 Bp, you get 2 more d6. This does stack, so if you have a 3 cool, and a talent that is applicable, you would already be rolling 6d6, and now can roll a total of 8d6. This means your command would be in the case of a Moderate Roll: (10) C: [7d6] G: [1d6]
The (10) is just to keep up with how much you need to beat. 7 of your d6's are normal dice and can only help you, the one dice rolled as a Ghost Dice which hopefully will be anything but a 6 so that it helps you.
In this case, lets say it comes up C: 40 G: 5 then the total is 45 and is WAY over what you needed as a threshold to beat the 10. You are very very very successful.
We are just adding totals to beat that difficulty mark, so it is best to roll most of the dice together rather than individually since it makes it easier to see the result.
I hope this makes things more clear, but please, if I am missing the mark, let me know. I want to be able to answer questions and work out the kinks early. And for the record... I am not mad! I am usually the friendly neighborhood fat-man.
No worries.

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
I just wanted to know if you were ok with using my fore weapon whenever I fired or if you wanted it sometimes to not work, just want to make sure I'm not cheesing too hard lol. So was it ok to just say I'm spending 2 points, like I did? The way I read it looks good.
Whenever I have played PbP we usually would be pretty free to roll and have the target numbers told like you do, and then just keep writing. Like oh I need a 10, got it, <description of my actions> is that ok or wait for you to describe it? I dont wanna take story out of your hands so I wanted to check.

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
That might be something we do later. For now I want to get a better feel for the flow of the game and might go so far as to move to a system like that where everyone assumes Mod unless I pop on and say no, that feels Hard in this instance or whatever.
Concerning the Bp, perfect, yes. All you have to do is say ooc "I spend Xbp" and you will be able to roll that many more d6.
I am about to start resolving everything IC now, might be a bit while i type it all out but I think we have a solid start. For now I am assuming everyone is inside the Coffee shop at the door and Jason lost his cool (hahaha) and ducked back outside. If this is not the case, please let me know. I am also working on a game map that will help for this. My goal is to have it all put together and posted before 10central. (juggling some stuff but will certainly get it up before bed)

He got an 11 and no ghost so he should be good, from what I thought.Bluehorse wrote:For now I am assuming everyone is inside the Coffee shop at the door and Jason lost his cool (hahaha) and ducked back outside. If this is not the case, please let me know.

Re: Off Duty (OOC)
I don't have a problem doing it that way. It's not what I'm necessarily used to, but this game seems to have a different pacing from others I've played. Maybe this works better.
