Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Re: Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Jason looks back to Roy and the others and motions for them to move up to the door. "Its quiet in there right now, But we need to get in there, so who's gonna cover me?" He looks to the other busters as he grabs the door handle and pulling it open. He tips the end of the neutrona wand inside and waits for go in to the room as a pair, with whoever backs him up.

Re: Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Jacob shot a glance toward Jason and shrugged indifferently in response to the proposed strategy. He was at best a slightly above average shot with the proton capture beam, but there were probably worse candidates to provide cover fire should the ghost suddenly go on the attack.
"Sure, I can do that, but if you're gonna be bait, then maybe I should wear the goggles." he suggested.

Roy trap in hand moves to follow Jason's lead merely shrugging then moving to enter the place.

"Good idea." Jason says to Jacob and makes sure he has the goggles, before stepping into the coffee shop.
Looking around at the mess, tables and chairs strewn around, probably from the patrons as much as the ghost. He pulls out his phone and taps the PKE functionality, and scans the room.

Glaring at Bur, he calls out to the reporter, Make sure your cameraman gets this. Oh, and watch out for more flying cups. Readying his wand, he follows the others into the coffee shop.

Lucky for you I would consider this easy since you are now inside and pretty much know the ghost is here. Good roll!Taaz wrote:"Good idea." Jason says to Jacob and makes sure he has the goggles, before stepping into the coffee shop.

The phone chirps a little then vibrates pulses more loudly as the reading come up on the screen showing a ghost is very close and more or less straight ahead behind the counter. There is a low growling noise and the sounds of heavy breathing... otherwise the chaotic scene is deathly quiet other than the rain coming down outside and another roll of thunder. Luckily the lights were still on and there were plenty of windows though most of those were now knocked out.

Jason stops in his tracks and motions with the phone in his hand at the counter, and slides the phone back into his pocket. He began to move to the end of the counter to see if he could get a visual, and kept his eyes open.
Would you like a cool roll or anything?

The First Call
Cup of Joe
4:20pm
Aug. 8, 2018
Raining, slightly cooler, calming.
As the rookie Ghostbuster moves around he can see the ghost behind the counter rummaging around and making plenty of noise as it does. It was indeed red and glowing like a neon sign. It looked angry as it looked around for something, finally coming up with a canister of sugar which it took over to a full pot of coffee, pouring both the coffee and the sugar into its mouth until both are empty. It then yells loudly, steam shooting out of its ears as it screams before turning and noticing Jason and grinning malevolently.
Sure, give me a straight Cool roll to see if you do in fact, keep your cool. Make it an easy meaning 10+

"I don't like the way hes looking at me...." He thought but thanks to the rain no one could see him sweat staring down an angry little forehead with eyes. "I got incoming."

Jacob quickly donned the ecto goggles, but decided against activating them at present when he realized the interior of the shop was still well-lit. From his training, they were mostly for use in low light environs. At Jason's call out, Jake readied his neutrona wand into firing position and attempted to spot their quarry.
"Back off, or you might get your face burned off, Jason." he retorted.

Roy holds the trap up "Uh do we need this yet?" he asks concerned seeing the ghost but still unsure how far is a safe distance to be to deploy the trap or the best timing for it.
no clue if or when or what rolls are needed.

please, declare action and i will request roll. Then I will give you the results. Also, please roll all dice together other than the ghost dice since we are looking for a rolled total rather than individual success or fail like World of Darkness

"Heads up!" Jason fires at the ghost making its way at him.
I'm firing at the ghost and spending 2 brownie points. Do I get Fire Weapon talent as well?

Weapon ready, Lionel rounds the corner and comes face to face with his first hostile apparition. What...What the hell? That is NOT what I expected! Shaken, he hesitates, neither deploying the trap nor firing his weapon at the ghost.

I misadded a while ago, but looking at this now, your 7+4=11 which means you succeeded in making the 10+ threshold. So you ain't fraid no ghost! The Ghost Dice always adds up as part of your total UNLESS it comes up a Ghost (6) in which case it is a 0 and does nothing to help your score. Still good odds though. Feel free to retcon this how you please, we can say you fell back to a better position or something.Taaz wrote:Cool: [2d6] = 7 Ghost:[1d6] = 4

The medium sized red ghost was in plain sight now and apparently on an angry caffeine high. It clenched a pair of oversized fist and reached out to knock a cash register off the counter.Zeromancer wrote:Jacob quickly donned the ecto goggles, but decided against activating them at present when he realized the interior of the shop was still well-lit. If you want to take a shot, roll moves, which is a total of 4d6 for you... so in this case roll 3d6 (plus another d6 for any Bp you want to spend and 1d6 as a ghost dice. This will be a Moderate difficulty, so threshold of 10
Anything you want to do involving basic moves like firing your proton pack or tossing a trap is moves. You can toss it out now if you want to but remember that you have to get enough beams on it to hold it in place before you can guide it into the trap. This of the steams as lassos and the trap is the pen you are pulling an animal into. I still think this is a perfect IC post for Roy thoughGreyWolfVT wrote:Roy holds the trap up "Uh do we need this yet?" he asks concerned seeing the ghost but still unsure how far is a safe distance to be to deploy the trap or the best timing for it.

Yes. 2d6 for Moves. +3d6 for Fire Weapon. +2d6 for 2Bp. That means your command is M: (10) [6d6] G: [1d6]
Lionel takes aim and is sure he will hit the ghost, but he hears the pack power down and a quick alarm followed by the sounds of a rebooting sequence. Water must have gotten into the neutrino coil and had to be blown out by the safety protocol. Will be able to fire again in the next round!Scott308 wrote:Lionel "Freight Train" Williams

Re: Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Having been waiting for the target to emerge, Jacob was quick on the trigger. He instantly took aim and fired his weapon at the nasty red apparition before it could take a solid swipe at the cash register.
Re: Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Jason dug in his heels, and faced the ghost as it barreled twords him. Teeth clenched and under his breath he gritted "I ain't afraid of no ghost." About this time Jacob had landed a solid hit on the specter. Not to be outdone Jason let fly with a proton stream catching the ghost directly in the face.
M: (10) [6d6] = 19 G: [1d6] = 1
I am using the attack setting on the proton pack at the moment.

Re: Mission 0 - Cup of Joe
Roy holding the trap shrugs "Alright guess I go shooting first then..." taking hint from Jacobs lead swaps the trap for the proton pack and tries to aim at the ghost and fires. "Something about this feels like a carnival game." at first nothing happens then Roy gets an sheepish look "Oh I'm so daft sometimes I forgot to plug it in." he plugs in the pack and lets fire at the ghost.

After clearing the water from his proton pack, Lionel is able to fire a proton beam directly at the ghost. Whoo! Light it up, boys! Roy, deploy the trap!
