Did anyone do anything beside stick a pole or weapon through the mist? Like try to check for a floor on the other side? Could just be another bloody pit!
OOC: No one checked for a floor. Bindle only stuck his jo through the mist with no ill effect.

Once Bindle has completed checking the pits he will oblige using his stick to verify there is a floor at least five feet into the mist. He will reach as far in as he can making sure not to let his hand touch any of the mist.

Your stick hits solid ground. Again you withdraw it it with no harm.

A makeshift platform is made from the lids of crates salvaged from the campsite. Bits of plaster fall from the door as Tix cracks it open to have a peek. On the other side is a short hall with an iron bound oak door at the other end. Dust coasts the floor and the smell of musty old air drifts from the corridor.

OOC: I need a count of who is using a light source and what type. I lost track.

Being careful to avoid the open pit traps, and using the butt of his spear to search the ground in front of him, Quinn will walk down the hallway, towards the arch, and try to find the rest of the words to the poem inscribed on the floor.

Skiiratch is using his MageLite contraption (a small rod with a Continual Light spell cast on it secured inside a black scroll case).

I must be out of it. I forgot to mention an important detail for Bindle twice now.
When you came close enough to the archway to poke your staff through the mist, both times the base stones and the keystone glowed orange, yellow and blue.

"ACERERAK
CONGRATULATES YOU ON YOUR POWERS OF OBSERVATION.
SO MAKE OF THIS WHATEVER YOU WISH, FOR YOU WILL BE
MINE IN THE END NO MATTER WHAT!
Go back to the tormentor or through the arch,
ond the second great hall you'll discover.
Shun green if you con. but night's good color
is for those of great valor.
If shades of red stand for blood the wise
will not need sacrifice aught but a loop of
magical metal - you're well along your march.
Two pits along the way will be found to lead
to a fortuitous fall, so check the wall.
These keys and those are most important of all,
and beware of trembling hands and what will maul.
If you find the false you find the true
and into the columned hall you'll come,
and there the throne that's key and keyed.
The iron men of visage grim do more than
meets the viewers eye.
You've left and left and found my Tomb
and now your soul will die."

Urdak lit a torch on page 2

The Dwarf will stand just off of the makeshift platform, fearing adding his weight may cause it to become unstable. What ya seen in there, Halfnling Tex?

McCloud, having covered the green face and hopefully any of its' detrimental (certainly mental!) effects, he went to the misty archway and took some time to check for traps, moving stonework and the like (without entering into it yet)....

did he set off this glowing light on the stones? How do they work...? McCloud will, if the glowing colours do no ill effects, make some experiments with the stones and floor tiles around...do they glow when you are near? how near, what colours react with which floor tile etc. Is there any noise associated with the colours?

Quinn proceeds slowly down the hallway to the iron bound door. Before taking ecah step he prods the area in front of him with the butt of his spear, checking for any traps or pressure plates. Upon reaching the door he presses his ear to the wood and listens intently for any sounds. After spending a substantial amount of time listening he begins to serach the door from top to bottome looking for any traps.

Is it just me or does the riddle seem to mention the colors next to the misty door. The color of night definitely fits the blue at least.

"Aye," Skiiratch agrees, as he repeats the phrases, "Shun green if you can. but night's good color is for those of great valor. If shades of red stand for blood the wise will not need sacrifice aught but a loop of magical metal - you're well along your march."

He thinks for a minute.

"Well, assuming we even follow the words to begin with (naturally, we're going to listen to the words of the mad Arch Lich whose tomb we're trying to rob), we have three colors - green, blue (or black), and red. Don't go with green, naturally. It sounds to me if we go with night's good color, then we're in for a fight. And the red... 'aught but a loop of magical metal'... I hope they don't mean someone would have to give up a magical ring. But maybe there is something there that we'll understand once we see it."

He shrugs, "Unfortunately,"and points at the stones around the archway, "the colors we have to deal with are orange, yellow, and blue. That doesn't seem to match..."

"Unless..."he begins, again, "the 'green' is referring to the demon's face and 'night's good color' is referring to the dark, foggy archway and..." he looks behind him, "the doorway back there is... referring to the red? Hey!" he calls out, "What color was that door before you boys peeled off the fresco?"

The glow fades if the is no one within 5 feet of the arch. The keystone is blue, left base yellow, and right base stone orange. The floor tiles seem to have no effect on the glow or colors.

After a thorough search you find no signs of traps and hear no noise on the other side.

It was black and gray, rendered to appear like iron.
