Sure, Bracers +2, weapon of choice +1 and potion of choice (recommend extra healing since no healing in group yet).

went with battle axe that is a heavy weapon but can it be held 1 handed with a shield in the opposite hand? ignore me re-read your posted weapons says it is heavy two handed for fighter damage but i need something one handed so changed to hand axe +1

Everything is looking good for both of you. I know at least some of you just have the free rules which end at 3rd level so Fighters get an additional +1 to damage at level 4. If you want to buy something not on the list just ask and I will give you a price.

Ed, Encumbrance for Sheamus will be light (chain/shield with 18 Str). Move 24, Initiative 1d6+9 (Dex-3). AC 3 in armor 7 out (bracers). I just realized bracers don't work with armor so if you want to change them that is fine. THAC0 17 Saves: Breath 13, Wand/Touch 11, Gaze 12, Ray/Poison 10 and Spell/Staff 14

alver, Encumbrance for Placeholder :) will be light (chain/shield with 18 Str). Move 24, Initiative 1d6+15 (Dex-3). AC 3, THAC0 17

alver,
Same starting equipment list as ED.

Starting equipment is 3d6x10sp. A set of clothing, mail armor, shield, knife, 3 weapons of your choice, backpack, 2 belt pouches, tinder box & water/wine skin. you have a riding horse (not the best quality, but gets the job done) and basic tack.

Magic item, Spear +1,+3 vs Orcs, Warning (glows red in presence of Orcs), a potion of choice (recommend Extra Healing)

Reminder, the +1 is plus to hit but not damage. The +3 is plus to both to hit and damage (this was a change in the PDF version).

Alright if the bracers don't work with armor then change to magical armor?

Nice spear! I'll take the extra healing potion as well.

I'd like to downgrade my armor to padded, so that encumbrance level is None.

No problem. Padded + shield is AC 5, no encumbrance, move 32, initiative 1d6+18

Playing in the reverse dungeon game has me thinking about lackey's. What do you guys think about maybe running a lackey each? I would make them, using a straight 3d6 method, would think 2nd level at most. With only 3 of you this would give you some extra options. Let me know what you think. I try to involve players in decision making so that everyone is invested.

"Henchmen" sounds good to me. A merc with an assistant or "lackey" sounds about right. ;)

Cool. I posted some info on Orcs in the world thread since everyone would know it and Ingvar has an Orc slayer spear.

Looking forward to finding out more about the world of Hârn - I've always been intrigued, but never had the time to delve into it. Just the article on the orcs has already upset my previous (admittedly baseless) assumptions. :)

Sounds great to me. The lackey could serve as my shield bearer, either due to some bond from my character's past or in exchange for food/military training (something like a squire). Even salary based would work I guess, more incentive to find treasure then. 1st to 2nd level would be fitting, too.

I have a method based on Dr Holmes advice: give them 15 in their prime requisite, and 1d6+6 in everything else. They should be fairly good to take on the risk of adventure, but not so good that they would become adventurers themselves. Just an anecdote. :)
