Urtesi nods as he hears Egon's warning. He tries to recall white, furry, squeaky things that live underground but comes up with nothing. As Egon heads towards the new corridor, he positions himself so that he is again in front of the rest of the party and behind those who scout ahead. He stands quite still and waits.

Harribal Flatfeet peers towards where Egon was looking "Whats going on? Not another giant spider is it?" he begins breathing heavy as if frightened like a mouse cornered by a cat. Most might realize he is starting to panic a little.

Delsenora

The dark elf knocks an arrow in her borrowed short bow, and remains alert for any fuzzy white animals. She can't think of any animals that are white and fuzzy except maybe a rabbit,

but wouldn't a rabbit be dead down here, meal for the Orcs?

Elanriel

As she brings up the rear and keeps an eye out for the furry white thing that Egon has warned everyone about, Elanriel can't help but find comfort in the quiet chatter from Delsenora, just ahead of her.

"Yeth. Very much," she replies to the Drow in a whisper. "You have my thankth. My wound ith fully healed. I owe you."

She listens some more.

"The taleth that your family told you mutht have been good preparation. I would never have guethed thith wath your firtht time adventuring," she says quietly in her awkward lisp. "I have no idea what I'm doing. I grew up alone and have no family that I know of. I jutht hope I don't meth anything up too badly."

Urtesi waves Harribal to come over, hoping to catch the halfling's attention.

If Harribal does come to him, Urtesi leans closer to the halflings ear and whispers, "You'll be safe here... it's likely nothing." He motions meaningfully towards the intersection that is currently guarded by multiple party members and adds, "Something tries to come from behind it'll be cut to pieces."

Harribal Flatfeet does move over to hear what Urtesi has to say and calms down a little bit "Well thankfully you guys do have better weapons than a knife like me. Was that something about white fur? Rabbits, and Weasels or wild Ferrets maybe. We do have them in the area." he adds to the other conversations going on.

Delsenora

Del listens to Elanriel, eyes frontward, paying attention to both the area the white fuzzy was seen and Elanriel behind her.

She offers her some words of encouragement, still whispering.

"Don't put yourself down, Elanriel. With experience you'll do just fine. I'm no expert, by far. Yes I did have

some good advice from my father and siblings, but nothing beats experience. If at first you have difficulties, don't worry

it will come to you with ease. It can only get easier. I may have made it look easy but I was still nervous."

She looks back and smiles encouragingly at Elanriel before turning her eyes back to the front.

"Well in any case if it's a rabbit" she says in an amused tone "We will eat well this evening."

Elanriel

Elanriel smiles back, at Delsenora's words of encouragement and at her comment about the rabbit. She finds the Drow easy company, something Elanriel is not at all used to. She's not quite sure what to make of it but she feels a strange kinship with her. She wonders if Delsenora feels it too and whether the tides of destiny have brought them together for some purpose. Was that what she sensed in the tavern before they met? Only time would tell, she guesses.

Ferrets?

Egon moves back to the group warns of something with white fur and everyone readies for some sort of battle to come forth. Shortly after they see something with white fur and larger than normal appear in the entrance to the cavern room with the dripping water. A giant white furry head appears and just watches the group with curiosity in it's animal eyes. It's a giant ferret it's about twice the size of a normal wild ferret roughly 3' to 4' long in size. It has a slender body and a long neck. The animal’s head is small and triangular with a pointed snout and a mouth full of needle-sharp teeth. For not the animal merely observes the group.

Delsenora

Del smiles when she sees the Ferret! She explains to the group what bshe knows about them.

"They even make good pets as far as I know. It might be a pair as well, as they do mate. I wouldn't mind having one as a pet. I think

they eat rodents so being in here is a good way for the Orcs to get rid of any rodents that have infested this complex."

The dark elf reaches into a pouch and retrieves some rations, holding them out in her hand in a gesture for the ferret. Dry meat.

She beckons the ferret with her other hand , turning to the others "Give me some space, I do not wish to scare it, but befriend it."

Weston keeps his voice low "What a interesting creature, it would make an excellent animal companion. Shame we don't have the magic to talk with it, it might be able to tell us some useful information, it might have even seen the prisoners."

Delsenora

In a low voce so as not to startle the creature

You are correct Weston.. I wasn't even thinking! IF you guys let me pray 10 mins, I do have a spell I can cast, but it takes an hour. Well worth it if you ask me. It is an Animal Friendship spell. I presume I should be able to gain Eilistraee's favor if I pray , but am unsure as I have not ever cast all my spells in one day.

I've earlier moved to the northern corridor so I missed the cute ferret peeking around the corner, shame :)

Urtesi starts getting restless. What in the hells is going on back there? He hears whispering and shuffling feet but can't quite tell what the commotion is about. However, he keeps waiting for the outcome of Egon's exploration.

Referring to this, I always assumed this means exploring the corridor heading north:

Elanriel

Elanriel gives Delsenora some room, as requested. Though she keeps an eye on what's going on with Delsenora and the ferret, Elanriel turns her attention back down the corridor to the east. Egon and Urtesi are watching north and she considers it her job to ensure no danger threatens from where they have already been.

Delsenora

Feeling she will be granted Eilistraee's favor, Del motions Elanriel, whispering

"I feel I can befriend this Ferret with a spell but unfortunately, this spell is long and shall take one hour. Move on

with the others if you wish, but I feel this is the right thing to do. Having one or two animal friends is beneficial to myself and the

group, if you think about it. Ferrets are fascinating animals and I am sure they will make loyal and trusting friends."

The dark elf grasps her holy symbol and sits cross legged on the floor. Concentrating and humming, she invokes the favor of the

Dancing Lady.. .....

Once she feels her prayer answered, Delsenora holds in her hand some dried meat. Moving her fingers in intricate patterns and mumbling

arcane words, she channels her spell towards the ferret and any other animals nearby. This takes an hour.

Elanriel

Elanriel cocks her head to one side and considers Delsenora's words. She had come into the caverns intent on rescuing the kidnapped priest and an hour seems a lengthy delay with that in mind. Who knows what might happen to him in that time? But things have changed, Elanriel balks at the idea of leaving Delsenora behind. What if something happened to the Drow while she wasn't there and the link between them was broken? No, it was no good, she couldn't take that chance. And besides, who knew, maybe the ferret would help them find the priest more quickly. Fate often took strange turns.

"If you feel it'th the right thing to do, I will trutht in that and thtay too," Elanriel declares resolutely. "Perhapth I can guard the interthection while the otherth check the pathage north? That way I will have both your backth."

Delsenora & the Ferret/The North Hallway

Spends the next hour working the spell and the ferret watches from a distance with interest. As this is going on the rest of the group scopes out a bit more of the northern hallway and guards Delsenora so nothing can disrupt the spell hoping to add an animal companion to the group. Moving up the northern hallway those that decide to scout things out find the two doors about half way up the hallway. Past the doors the hallway stretches on for only another 40 feet then it turns west for 20 feet ending with another door in the west wall at the end of the hallway. When you first reach the first door in the northern hall (located on the east wall) you hear sounds from the other side of the door. Then moving to the next door as quietly as you all can you hear what sounds like someone on the other side of the door and some sort of animal sounds? Tip toeing past those doors you come to the bend in the hallway and move up to the door in the shorter west hallway and can hear sounds as if there again are at least to beings on the other side of the door in the room. Making your way quietly back to Del you wait for the spell to complete which does and you only had to wait for a portion of an hour. Delsenora's spell was a success and she now has a ferret pet/companion. The ferret if it has a mate it was not nearby and was not drawn over by the spell's affects.
