B S (III)
Re: B S (III)
so are we staying in the hidden spider fortress or are we heading home? We need to rest I think whatever we decide, and not resting in the Fortress seems like a good plan with the ettercap and god’s and goddesses know what else lurking around in the webs. Finding a secure place to make a camp
could be our best play right now. What do you all think?

Greys Campaign.
Re: B S (III)
If we are going to rest in the jungle, we need some kind of secure shelter to keep from being eaten by the insects.
We killed the ettercap's big buddy, so I doubt he'll want another piece of us soon. The pits can actually be used by us as defensible spots. So I don't think staying is completely out of the question.
I don't believe we have been here very long, so we might be wasting a lot of time heading back and then returning. As long as we can arrange to let the spell casters rest and re-charge.

The dirty human in black with the big guy going to investigate the sound is who we understand (from Waes’ description I assume) to be the evil magic user, right?

Re: Spider fortress
We may as well get some rest in/near the structure before either returning or exploring. At least there will be fewer insects to chew on us.

I guess Wes forgot to mention that big group of native women he ran across in the jungle when he was escaping from the smugglers.....
Don't worry. I'm pretty sure that was the only thing he didn't mention. Yup, pretty sure.

Looks like Wes will have all the converts he can handle- if he wants such a thing....

Yeah, he's been heading down that road. Not for the fame and glory of course...he just wants people & animals to live in harmony. That and the fact he seems to have found a way to get free drinks at the tavern.

Re: B S (III)
The workers are congregating at the barracks for evening chow... Does this include the slaves?
Re: B S (III)
BTW: I've been thinking of the assault on the slavers as a way to clear a BIG patch of land for the town to relocate to, almost since we started it.

The slaves do NOT eat with the crew, or with the ogres.
In fact, you haven't seen the slaves eat or drink anything since you have been watching over this clearing.
With no obvious sleeping area, it could be surmised that they must be forced to sleep in the fields.
I know it sounds like horrible conditions, but these are clearly some really BAD people you are dealing with.

Re: B S (III)
So just to be clear in my mind, once the boom stick sets off, what's our escape plan? I figure we'll be chased. So are we planning on wiping everyone out then freeing the slaves or are we starting some fires and hoping for the best?
If we are to escape, going through the jungle at night may be a bad idea (lost, bugs, monsters, or worse). That could leave the trail down the river. If Alordan or anyone with a bow is going to cover random enemies running around, they may have to move to the right (of the parties location at the red X) to be within better range of those buildings (but would be too far away to help with any ogres that were roaming around).
Thoughts?

Re: B S (III)
Or we might consider using the river. There are still rafts waiting, yes? Confusion and chaos make good escape pals.

Re: B S (III)
I will start a list...
Signal to begin the attack: Fireball?
Designated place of retreat/regroup: River/Trail?
Individual Plan of Attack:
Lightfinger: Sneaking out towards the location of the slaves to free them during the commotion.
Luther: Sticking with Chauncey at the onset of the attack and waiting to see where he can do the most damage.
Monocar: Charging the ogres with nothing on but a longsword after being Enlarged by Chauncey.
Lerrick: Sticking close to the group, casting a Bless spell before everyone moves out.
Talaris: NPC’d
Chauncey: Trying to sneak up to the shacks behind the barracks.
Alordan: Cover Fire and traps?
Fill in the location and timing details wherever you see fit and we can get this rolling as soon as everyone is ready.
