Tanner is quiet, still poking through his gear.

Xale reads from the scroll, restoring some of Tanner's health (+12 HP).

Rool examines the door and its frame. The door is firmly barred shut, but it is not airtight. He drinks his potion of gaseous form and passes through the cracks to the other side.

It is pitch black. He is likely to be inhaled by a grue.

Tanner pulls a stone out of his pack, and looks around, trying to guess-timate the size of the room and the height to the ceiling.

The room is 30x30, with a 10' ceiling.

Tanner shakes his head again and replaces the stone. He closes his pack and prepares for what comes next.

Is there enough light coming through cracks so Gaseous Rool can maintain his bearing?

Tanner has closed his pack and is waiting for the door to be opened- or for Rool to rush back, screaming for help.

My apologies—Norjax sent me an action in his private forum that I didn't see. For the rest of you, please tell me if there's anything your PCs will do in the next 4-7 turns, or if you're content to wait that long for Rool (with whatever dice rolling that entails).

The pair in the hall continue to wait. Their tolerance for boredom is impressive, what with their spending over an hour now just standing around doing nothing.

In the room, everyone waits for gassy Rool to do whatever he's doing on the other side of the door. The minutes pass uneventfully, until they don't. Pass uneventfully, that is.

A monster appears in the open aft doorway. It is vaguely man-shaped, about 6' tall. Its muscular body is completely naked, revealing its pearly dark gray skin. Its mouth is a vertical hole in the shape of a permanent scream or howl.

Tanner brings his Frostbrand sword up in a defensive motion.

Pelor's Balls! What the hells is this?

Hallagad flinches at Tanner's blasphemy, but he will deal with that later. He's heard tales of these types of creatures. He wads any spare clothing (ripping off a shred of his own if necessary) and attempts to plug his ears before drawing his sword.

Odilo "What in the blazes is that?" the spell caster says with surprise and a bit of wonder in his voice.

Upon seeing his friend try to plug his ears Xale figures it is best to follow suit. Casts Silence 15' radius on a coin in his belt pouch.
