Molly
As Molly passes the spot where Geoff was, she peers through the fourth wall into the camera but clearly can't see what he was looking at. She shakes her head. Great! The wolf-butcher was obviously bonkers too. Add him to the growing list of screw ups on this rescue mission. Now they had a drunkard elf along for the ride. It got better and better!
I'm coming Penelope.

Re: Ch. 1: Rescue Penelope Primrose!
Alton just stares at Geoff as he talks then replies at the end "What's snow white?" having no clue what Geoff is talking about having spent a fair amount of his life living in alleys and on the streets or in some cases under them. "Lets continue on shall we?" he asks proceeding onward in their journey.

Iliro
Iliro is glad the party doesn't seem to have a problem with him. He readies his spear and falls in next to Cy, in the rear.

Re: Ch. 1: Rescue Penelope Primrose!
Iliro the Elf rides up, adding to the group's ethnic diversity. He turns his horse over to a Nervous Boy, rushes up the stairs to join the rest of you, and apologizes for being late.
The elf, who can read dwarven, translates the faded runes for you: "ENTER, FRIENDS. ENEMIES, BUGGER OFF."
Finn lights his lantern and Grond grabs it from him. Alton lights a torch. You ascend the wide stairs into the mountain. The stairs are smooth with centuries of use, with depressions worn in the middle of each step from thousands upon thousands of feet. But the stairs are also dusty and rubble-strewn, telling of the centuries since this entrance was regularly used. As you climb, you discuss walls, things that lurk in the darkness, and why small people would build large homes.
At the top of the stairs, the 20'-wide passage continues ahead of you, ending in a pair of huge iron-bound wooden doors forty feet away. Arrow slits line the walls. Four rough-looking men in leather armor stand in front of the doors, pointing short bows at you. Daggers are strapped to their belts.
"Yeah, that's as far as yer gonna go," says one of them. "Y'all best run back to yer holes a'fore one of ya gets hurt."
Map:
-----
Status: Finn (½1): 5/5; Grond (F1): 7/7; Alton (T1): 1/1; Twiddle (½1): 4/4; Molly (½1): 3/3; Cy (C1): 5/5; Geoff (T1): 4/4; Iliro (E1): 6/6
Light Sources: Lantern (Grond): 23 turns; Torch (Alton): 5 turns
Effects: None

Re: Ch. 1: Rescue Penelope Primrose!
Alton smirks "I don't have a luxurious hole to go back to just a trash filled alley." he says in a snarky defiance clearly these men don't know him very well. A sign telling him to bugger off and now two men saying he can't come in just makes him want to go in even more so.

Molly
If Molly had the power to read minds she'd note that Alton can't count but she doesn't. Instead, she squints at the four thugs, sizing them up and looking unimpressed. "Bit big for Dwarves ain't you?" she says skeptically. "And you've barely a decent beard between the lot of you. My mum sports more of one. I reckon they're imposters lads. They're just having us on."

Finn
Finn thinks to himself they call me the fleet for a reason I guess and off he goes at a full charge, swinging his shield in front of himself to block the arrows and screaming at the top of his lungs he charges them as fast as his little hairy feet will carry him.
Hand Ax (THAC0 19) [1d20] = 16 to hit [1d6] = 1 damage

Iliro rushes into the fray to join his comrade, not wishing to seem cowardly, and thrusts his spear at one of the bandits.

Re: Ch. 1: Rescue Penelope Primrose!
Alton having only a dagger decides instead to try and stay back out of the way using the others in front of him as shields.

Twiddle was just about to say something very helpful when his companions rush forward. He lets an arrow loose, aimed at the big mouthed brute.
Short Bow: [1d20+1] = 13+1 = 14, dmg [1d6] = 2

Re: Ch. 1: Rescue Penelope Primrose!
Geoff raises his bow and shoots at a quiet bandit, coupled with one of his typical one-liner war cries, "Looks like I'm all out of milk!"
Geoff short bow (ThAC0 19, +1 Dex): [1d20+1] = 3+1 = 4 // Damage: [1d6] = 2

As Finn and Iliro rush forwards, Molly peeps out from behind Alton and fires her short bow at the lead thug.

Cy
As the others charge forward Cy peers ahead into the gloom at the two toughs, looking to see if he recognizes them. He turns to Alton and says, ”This escalated quickly...”
He then moves forward slowly, ready to support the fighters if necessary.

Alton smirks. "I don't have a luxurious hole to go back to just a trash filled alley," he says in snarky defiance.
"Bit big for Dwarves ain't you?" adds Molly.
Twiddle is about to say something very helpful when Finn and Illiro rush into melee. Grond, after hesitating a moment, joins them. The bandits are ready for you, however, and immediately fire their arrows. Three of them fly wide, but the fourth hits Cy in the shoulder (-3 HP).
Geoff, Molly, and Twiddle answer with arrows of their own. Geoff misses, but Molly gets one of the men in the side and Twiddle strikes the big-mouthed brute in the leg.
Finn, Illiro, and Grond engage the enemy. Illiro thrusts his spear at the bandits. At least, that's the theory. In practice, it looks more like a baton routine. Grond swings his big two-handed sword over his head—and over his enemy's head. Finn has a little more success, inflicting a small gash in the loudmouthed ruffian's arm with his axe.
The two bandits in melee drop their bows, draw their daggers, and grin. The other two, standing behind them, reload and prepare to fire another volley.
Actions for round 2!

Edit: Molly's attack hit.

Twiddle launches another arrow, but this time at one of the things still holding a bow. He gives a little fist pump as it thwacks into the too-tall human.

Alton sneaking in behind the meat shields will try and stab a bandit with his dagger.
