I'm sorry, I didn't get any e-mails!
please...Please...PLEASE everyone.......do NOT rely on the email notifications for this game!!!

I have seen on multiple occasions that they simply don't work properly on the US.

Since this game has a 48 hour post rate, and I am rarely late with updates once everyone has posted, please just pop on the site and check it manually every couple of days. I am fairly anal about keeping the action rolling along in my games, and I hate to make the normally consistent players wait for updates if that can be easily remedied by everyone simply checking the page out periodically.

I don't mind it if players get busy and cant pop on here for a few days, that is fairly common. But please try to remember to check us out if you can!

THANKS!

Hey, OM. A few questions Future Chauncey, Undisputed Ruler of the Island Realm sent me via a complicated amalgamation of a Wish and a Contact Other Plane spell:

1. Do any of the structures in Captain Bing’s camp have windows? How about multiple doors/exits? (I’m thinking of the barracks here, where the men went for lunch, specifically, but am curious about the other structures, too.)

2. Can the party, moving along the treeline (assuming the others follow Chauncey) hope to get within range of Captain Bing before he departs on the throne boat?

3. Am I correct that we estimate there to be approximately 5 ogres remaining?

For the other members of the Taking Down Captain Bing group - I’m trying to take everyone’s ideas into account, but things are complicated and seem to be coming to a critical juncture. Here’s what I think we know:

1. We must free the slaves somehow without them getting harmed.

2. We must do something about the ogres when we take care of the rest of the mercenaries so they don’t rush us and have our lunch.

3. Waiting ‘til night doesn’t seem like an option re: bugs.

4. We won’t last another night out here.

5. I’d have liked to wait ‘til dinner for the men to gather again in the barracks, but the throne on the boat would imply that Bing is getting ready for a trip downriver. In other words, we must act now-ish?

6. Burning the dank nug barn seems the best distraction and way to gather the mercenaries in a tight group (for fireballing) and prevent Bing from leaving (especially if we have to do it right now) but if Chauncey shoots a fireball from the treeline, they’ll have us visually pegged? - someone would see it? Then we’d have to flee?

Thoughts? If we could have got one person in range for Charming, we could have had them set the barn ablaze, but It kind of seems like plan B time now...

Great ideas and questions!

(This endeavor might take a great deal of planning if everyone is expected to survive it.)

Yes, there are two doors on the barracks, just like it shows on the map.

All of the shack structures have at least one window flap that can be opened by flipping them up and propping it open with a stick.

Moving through the uncleard jungle back to the river will be done at 1/4 speed. You wont be able to make it back there quickly, and moving through any faster will result in making more noise.

5 ogres sounds about right.

Thanks for coordinating CP!

Another suggestion. What if we head back to town and rest and come back with a plan where we ambush the folks on the river? Maybe set up a rope trap that we can trigger that keeps them from floating downstream? A submerged net or something strung across. It may be that we can pick them off a little at a time versus attacking the whole place at once?

Everyone is bringing up good points. I dont think we will get a better chance than this.. OM has set us up pretty well. I say we dump gear here we will not need in a fight and move in light. M and L hit hard in the fields and try to free slaves to start a riot. Someone else try to start a fire in one of the barns so there is more distraction. Everyone else has three objectives, kill Bing, find friends, stay alive.

Also, is Luther is able to lighten up enough to carry Monocar's sword for him, Chauncy can turn him into a giant naked humanoid rampage through the center of camp. Maybe he can go full hulk smash and charge through a barn as a kind of shock and awe. In theory when the spell wares off, Luther could hand off the sword to M and they can commence with the chunky salsa fight while everyone else moves to flank Bing. I really think a loose plan to create as much instant chaos as we can will work better. We certainly cannot risk another night to the bugs and whatever lack of sleep penalties OM has up his sleeve for us if we do. Look at that smug look on his face!

Hm. Naked, giant Monocar, fire in the weed barn, sudden freed slave revolt... Sounds like my kind of chaos! BUT, very sound coordination and crack timing will need be, as well as splitting the party somewhat drastically. This is where the problem could occur, as someone (Besides our vast streaker) will likely be spotted before his piece of the puzzle is set. Chances would grow (Again, like Monocar) if we had a charmed slaver do some of the dirty work. We're testing security measures by burning the barn, gauging reaction time, or some such. Getting from our current position to everyone's respective point B is the first problem.

It’s unlikely a mere charm person spell would get a slaver to sabotage his own slaving network directly. He might open a fire trapped box at a specific place if you told him it was a present and a surprise for his superiors and to keep it quiet until the time of opening to maximise the surprise, but “go and light those barns on fire for me that your pals and you have been working on for months” would absolutely not be followed I think, and might even warrant a new saving throw.

He might become Chauncey’s very best friend, but that doesn’t mean he will like any of the other party members any more than he did before, or his slaver buddies any less.
