Expedition Planning Discussions
Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Ah. Thus trying to get someone else to deal with the orb.
So that's the expedition that's set up as "Clay and the Warden's Tomb?"
Clint had better load up on rations.

Exactly. It's bound to be an interesting, fun, and stressful expedition and I hate to miss out, but...

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Was that the request to go farther north than the Warden's Tomb? Yeah. I responded affirmatively in character.
For some reason the "First Unread Post" button is taking me beyond the first undread post. (Maybe soemthing to do with me not being able to log in for several hours yesterday?) I am going back and looking through the threads to see what I might have missed.

Oh! I must have missed it. I'll go back and re-read.Rusty Tincanne wrote:Was that the request to go farther north than the Warden's Tomb? Yeah. I responded affirmatively in character.

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Are we thinking of doing another expedition with the PCs that just got back, or are we winding these PCs down with the Christmas hiatus or slowdown looming?
Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
You'll hopefully have the Scatha group back soon, too. (The two richest groups of PCs, currently.
)
How about working out what you want to do with coin, titles, etc? If we go with the "one expedition, others in town" option, you need to decide on what/where these guys settle down.

Halfpint needs/wants to go north to look for land near the faeries. If anyone would like to join her for a quick up and back... thinking of a circle past the faeries north to the lumber camp and back down the logging roads by the river. ( She travels light these days.)
Not sure if we can overrun the cyclops cave, or if we really need to.
The idea is to set up a safe zone to follow the river north...

Are the faeries a threat, or possible allies?
Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Bandy or Earc would be interested in that, depending on the party needs...

BTW, there were also those bandits that waylaid us on our trip back from the tower (the ones we scared away by making Olaf big).

The jerk who led them was identifiable as one of Lord Commander Bremen's new Captains.Zhym wrote:BTW, there were also those bandits that waylaid us on our trip back from the tower (the ones we scared away by making Olaf big).

Hoping allies. Halfpint was friends with many in the south and wanted to see if she can bring them into the game on good terms...

I also caught the irony that that jerk almost killed another of my PCs!

I am curious how he got rid of that Continual Light spell on his eyes. Must be why he squints so much now.
Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
It's worse than that. Doesn't Continual Light gradually destroy anything it's cast on? So wouldn't it eventually eat away a target's eyes? Ewww...
Olaf now has an AC of -3, so we should get him out there into combat again.

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Yeah. Preferably in front of Winnie, who has, I believe, an AC of 12.
Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Olaf would like to go southwest to secure one of the other towers. It should be a fairly quick trip, if we wanted to combine that with a trip north.
Having bought new armor and a new shield, he's suddenly in need of that land holding.

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Bump...
I figure if we have any chance of getting a quick trip up and running before the (day or two
) delay, we should go. In order for Halfpint to claim any of the land she wants, she needs to at least identify it somewhat.
Does anyone mind going along with her?

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
Hmmm... that's not really too close to where Earc needs to go, which is west, unless Halfpint wants to make a pretty big loop north and west.
Earc is going to switch Deities to Beith and conscript Beithian Rangers (Rangers of Beith?) as per the Duke's requirements for retaining soldiers. My plan was to head up to the grove and start recruiting rangers and secure the Kobold tower and try and figure out what to do with the nesting cockatrices with the golden eggs...

Re: Expedition Planning Discussions
I'd like to get Olaf on another adventure before he settles down, but I'm not hearing a lot of consensus on what to do. Halfpint wants to go north, Earc wants to go west, Olaf was thinking of going south—there's not a lot of commonality in that list.
The kobold tower isn't all that interesting to me at the moment. Been there, done that, saw a PC get turned to stone. A trip further west might be interesting, though.
