Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters"
Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
The rush of battle upon him Gramble rushes to the newest threat
Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
What the hell is that? Lookout behind you! the fighter roars out loud to the thief while charging across the log over the pit filled with slime (successfully this time ) to come to the thief's aid.
roll for moving across the log [2d6] = 8
occ: If Judson is allowed to attack this round here are the rolls. To hit and damage [1d20+2] = 11+2 = 13 [2d8+4] = 12+4 = 16

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
Inside The Wooden Structure
What The Hell Is That!?!?
Freeday, 5th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid
The dogs begin barking like crazy again as chaos sprouts up all around them. Avaala gets Rollo settled down a bit, but Feightus continues to roar, looking up at the ceiling with the sheer desire to kill in his eyes. The mage, along with Brother Gilbert, draw their daggers in case they need to cut away any web strands. Avaala starts forward towards Judson's position.
Storm scurries across the log again, with Gramble and Maag waiting for their turn right behind him. (If you would rather cross the log 2 people at a time, just let me know.
) Jaxsen investigates the alcove further, finding nothing else of interest other than the metal lever.
Judson sidesteps the strand of web as it begins to fall from the ceiling. Saracen draws closer, his bow at the ready. He cant see a damn thing up above the branches and vines that hang over his head. The young fighter calls out to Eawad to watch out behind him, clearly seeing something that the rest of the party cannot. He starts racing back across the bundle of cut saplings stretched over the slime pit as quickly and safely as possible, hoping to lend aid to the newcomer thief. He makes it across in time to watch his friend slump over, the horrible creature now dragging him backwards, towards the open copper gate. Judson continues to give chase with the others right on his tail. (Sorry, no attack is allowed this round since you had to move a bit more cautiously than normal.)

Jaxsen Reiter
Jax calls to everyone on this side of the slime pit, "Go! Go help! There is nothing left here. Just the switch for the gate!" He then gets in line behind Gramble and Maag, waiting to cross the web pit. He still keeps his halberd ready in case something drops down to attack.

Avaala the Grey
Avaala, afraid of blocking the path over the slime, keeps out of the way as the fighters go to aid Judson and Eawad. He also continues to keep Rollo in check, but mindful of where the dog looks and reacts.

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
Storm scuttles around the corner and attempts to follow the slow half-orc over the slime pit log.
Come on come on, you slow poke. Move your metal hide so everyone doesn’t die whilst we wait on you!! It’s a good job the sun is a holy symbol to the Druids and it give light, or we could truly just not be friends at all. Will you MOVE!” he says his voice reusing.
Once the half-orc is eventually over the Druid scampers accords easily and dodges around the holy champion to see what’s occurring, scimitar at the ready.

Brother Gilbert
He steps aside, near Avaala and Rollo, staying out of the fighters' way. It appears that his skills as a healer will shortly be necessary. He also keeps watching the branches overhead.

Gramble rushes the creature (I assume a spider) axe at the fore giving orders to Feightus
Feightus Epíthesi!
he will try to split the thing in half
I am at work and can't use the roller right now

Inside The Wooden Structure
What The Hell Is That!?!?
Freeday, 5th of Goodmonth
Mid Morning, Hot, Humid
Gramble crosses the log next, still using his huge ax to balance himself as he tries to hurry back into some action. Magg deftly crosses right behind with a smart comment. Jaxsen is content that nothing was missed in the alcove. He prepares to cross the long log next.
Brother Gilbert knows that his skills will be needed very soon, so he allows the fighters to pass his position before moving closer to the groups mage. Avaala keeps Rollo in check as the others pass, his group keeps a close eye on the branches overhead, but see nothing threatening there. Gramble and Feightus race past them and prepare to cross the slime pit bridge next, the dog seems to be in a wild frenzy of rage.
Judson takes off after the monster dragging Eawad away, stabbing the thing with his sword when he gets close enough. The hideous beast lets out a loud cry of pain, but the wound does not stop his attempt to escape the battle. Saracen continues the chase, as does little Storm, once they round the next corner, they too spot the cause of the commotion. A 6 foot humanoid monstrosity appears to be pulling the unconscious form of Eawad down the passage with the now open copper gate. The ugly creature does not counter Judson's attack, instead attempting to flee into the next passage. As he crosses the area at the end of the hall, still carrying the thief along with him, Judson moves along with them, ready to strike again. The fighter then hears a telltale click of a triggered tripwire at his feet, the monster seems to smile wickedly as he continues to slip ahead of the fight. Suddenly a stringy net of webs falls down, hanging from the ceiling, covering Judson in its sticky strands and stopping him in his tracks as Saracen approaches his position. The beast seems to be snickering as it darts across the hall towards what appears to be a doorway covered entirely with spider webs.
Actions!
A successful Hard [4d6] STR check will get Judson out of the webs in one round. The net is quite large and it covers the entire 10 foot width of the passage, so anyone wishing to pass through the area will also need to make a Hard STR check to avoid being stuck themselves. (unless you can think of a way to bypass the webs, of course) The web net can be cut away in one full round by anyone who isn't currently stuck in its strands.

As soon as Maag crosses, Jaxsen immediately follows across the web pit. He speeds along the corridor and once again finds himself waiting as others cross the slime pit. He notes that Avaala and Brother Gilbert are allowing combatants to cross first, and he does so.

Hmmmm, I seem to be missing a post. Let's try that again.
Avaala the Grey
As the physical combatants pass across the slime pit, Avaala prepares to follow. "OK, boy," he says to Rollo. "I've got a plan. Follow me."
Once Jaxsen crosses, so do Avaala and Rollo (one at a time).
Second OOC: Do the webs the Ettercap dropped fill the entire passage, or just lie there on the floor? In other words, can they be jumped over? Only seems to be 5' wide.

Re: Quest #14 "Hidden Fortress of the Poison Spider Monsters
The strands they have been shooting through the ceiling gaps are no more than thick rope. They are laying in a small pile on the ground where they missed their marks, easily bypassed. The "net" of webs that got Judson is hanging down from the ceiling like a veil that crosses the entire width of the passage.SirOwen wrote:Do the webs the Ettercap dropped fill the entire passage, or just lie there on the floor?
