He'll hand the short sword and scabbard absently to Eletir and then stock up on whatever portable foodstuffs he can comfortably carry.

Now wondering if staying in this room all day might be a bad idea, the group seems to be leaning towards trying their luck elsewhere. Packing up several days worth of fresh foodstuffs, Sprig suggests going back through the eastern portal, the same one you arrived through last night.

Elitir packs up as much as she can carry (including the thief's armor and gear). "Lets go through the same door then. Me first?"

Grossphil the Feeble

Grossphil makes no move to pick up anything because he can already barely keep himself standing on his weak, pathetic legs. There's no way he's going to lug food around. But at Elitir's proposal of her going first, he agrees wholeheartedly, "After careful consideration, I have come to agree that you should go first my dear half-orc. I think perhaps Finnigan should join you and we can go in three rows of two. Elitir and Finnigan in the front, myself and Mac in the middle, and Sprig and Zefarrel taking up the rear."

"Are you ready Finn?"

Mac

Mesmerized by the pebble, Mac is slow to react. He eventually puts it in his pouch, and engages the party. "Yes, yes. Quite right. The eastern portal looks good. Maybe we will find our lost companion."

Mac moves to pack some food and drink, then follows some large fighty type through the portal.

[Alethan]

Eager to be a part of any action that takes place, Finnigan nods once at the half-orc and steps through the portal, with his axe at the ready.

Zefarrel: Very well, I will bring up the rear. Maybe we will be able to bring closure on what happened to Pumfrey.
With staff in hand, she stands ready for her turn, glancing at the other 2 portals as she waits.

Elitir readies her weapons and steps through the portal.

First Morning Inside

With their bags and packs overstuffed with the dead Joblo's possessions and weeks worth of normal foodstuffs, the group decides to press on. Sprig pockets the thieves tools and Mac stows the green pebble away in his robe as the group assembles in front of the eastern portal. Two by two, the party walks through the black void. Again, the complete darkness lasts but a second, and though the experience of doing so still feels a bit strange, all six of you enter another room with no deleterious effects.

This room is really more of a hallway, with 4 more of the black portals and 2 normal doors along its walls. The height of the ceiling here is 15', as it was in the other rooms you've investigated so far, and soft light emanates from more of the brass fixtures above. From the very moment you arrive, you are accosted from the east. (your left)

A still whimpering Doblin stands directly in front of the easternmost portal in the hall, his bow trained on Elitir. He fires two arrows into your group before you have a chance to react. One of them hits the half-orc in her thick thigh. 3 dam The other flies over your heads and shatters against the far wall. The man calls out to your group as you get your bearings.

"I know these magic doorways like the back of my hand! And I will use them to hunt you down and kill every last one of you!"

To your horror, you see an unmoving humanoid shape lying at the crying humans feet. You cant tell who it is as his head is covered with some kind of sack, but the size of the body looks disturbingly similar to Pumfrey's. His tiny hands are bound behind his back and there is a length of rope secured around his ankles as well. Doblin kicks at the form as he knocks another arrow.

"You killed my brother, so I will kill your little friend here! But hopefully not until after I have killed all of you first!"

Instead of firing at you again, he reaches down and grabs ahold of his unmoving prisoner.

Elitir will bring her shield up and advance at her fastest pace.
She will be careful to avoid getting pushed or run through another doorway. Her goal is to get to Pumfrey and grab him.

Zefarrel: Cursing under her breath that she didn't ready a 2nd hold person spell... If the others move out of the way, she will charge the thief with her staff. If not, she will draw her hammer and keep an eye on the portals to the party's back.

[Alethan]

Finnigan curses that he doesn't have his bow ready. Seeing the half-orc charge forward, though, he does the same thing. His goal is to cut the man in half at the waist.

Grossphil the Feeble

Pleased to finally find Pumfrey, albeit in the clutches of death, Grossphil isn't about to let the thief drag Pumfrey though another portal. The sickly elf casts magic missile at Doblin, appearing as he does so.

Magic Missile [2d4 +2] = 5+2 = 7

"You and your brother aren't the only ones who use invisibility you scoundrel!" Grossphil proudly calls after he appears and his missiles hit.

Mac

Having learned about the dangers of spell casting and range limitations, Mac holds back. He starts moving to the west, towards the normal doors. "It doesn't have to be this way Doblin. We can still all make it out of here."

First Morning Inside

Elitir, Finnigan, and Zefarrel charge towards the whimpering thief who continues to hoist the unmoving form. He steps backwards nervously when he sees Grosphil suddenly appear out of the blue with a spell on his lips. He ignores the mage's comment but decides to respond to Mac.

"Oh ya? Who's we? Are you including Joblo too? You son of a bitch!" He decides to press his luck with one last comment directed at the cursing fighters racing towards him.

"That's it, step right this way fuckers! Its time for me to show you some pain!" He seems to be tempting your group to follow him, but as he shouts out, two tiny darts of pure energy sizzle from the fingers of the frail elf. They whizz past the heads of the others and hit Doblin square in his chest. He doesn't go down, but he does let out a cry of pain when they make contact.

Now stumbling backwards with the small form of what might be Pumfrey in one arm, he nervously disappears through the black portal right at the moment the fighters are about to attack. And just like that, he is gone again.
