Thanks! Now you can make an attack for this current round as well. Alordan shakes off the though of Devlin and refocuses his aim:
Short Bow Attack [1d20+3] = 16+3 = 19 (THACO=18)
Short Bow Damage [1d6] = 3
Short Bow Attack [1d20+3] = 11+3 = 14 (THACO=18)
Short Bow Damage [1d6] = 4
OOC: I assume this is at the 2nd ogre approaching not caught in the net. I don't think ranger bonuses to attack giant-types applies to missile fire?

Lerrick grabs a stone from her backpack, places it into her sling, and the slings it at the beast caught in the web. However, her aim was off the mark by a considerable amount. She shakes her head in disgust.

Lightfinger cringes.Luther moves toward the river to draw the second to himself.
No, you fool Bear-Man, don't bring them over here! The Hobbit winces, trying not to be seen. Forcefully pushing away thoughts of the horrid Ogres dining on roasted Ranger, Mage muffins, Tallfellow tots and Priest pudding, he quickly scans the immediate area. He may need to bolt from here quickly! Where might he run to? Why, he'd follow any tracks heading away from the rafts, of course! Where do those tracks lead, he wonders? Somewhere in front of charging Ogres, no doubt. He decides to remain still and (hopefully) not noticed for the time being.

”We’ll need to even up the odds if we’re to survive.” says Chauncey. Turning to face Monocar, he raises his hand with fingers crooked, thumb and index finger held a few inches apart. He lines up his eye so that the image of the big fighter fits between them, then, muttering a few arcane sounding words in Frost Giantese, pulls them apart slightly, causing both the image of the fighter and the real Monocar to grow. ”Let us focus our damage on one ogre at a time! Preferably the very angry looking one running this way,” he shouts.

Ogre strength is +3 to hit and +6 on damage.

Monocar
Looks down at himself and then gets a wild grin on his face and turns towards to oncoming ogres and lets out a mighty battle cry, charging O2 (With +2 for charge?) Then as he is running he turns to Chauncy. You could have made my pants a little bigger! He then turns back and swings at the Ogre!

Re: Quest #15 "Taking Down Captain Bing"
Sorry about the delay here, everyone! I was hoping to hear from Bigtaff before advancing, but since it has been 6 days since his last post, I guess I will NPC Talaris this round.

Ogre Attack: Round 2
Earthday, The 4th of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Hot, Sunny, Very Buggy
Once again confusion seems to take hold of this group as soon as trouble shows itself. Alordan fires his bow off at the approaching monster just as it gets caught in the webs, so his next arrows are aimed over the distant huts at the second ogre. Both hit the mark on the charging brute, causing it to cry out as it advances.
Luther and Monocar step towards the river, hoping to attract the second one to them. They can almost hear the halfling near the water grumbling at this action. Waiting till the third ogre has passed his position, Lightfinger prepares to make his move. The Tallfellow is slightly relieved when he hears no other rustling noises coming from the northern trail. Chauncey casts a spell, not on the ogre but on his large comrade, Monocar. Much to the young mans amazement, the huge fighter magically grows in size until he is even bigger than the ogres. The trio of combatants converge on each other with serious aggression. Luther slashes into the creature as he gets pounded with the big club. 5 dam The size advantage does little to help the monstrous Monocar's attack as he whiffs with his normal sized longsword.
The groups newest two recruits, Talaris and Lerrick, become quite concerned once these beasts get even closer. Lerrick loads her sling with a stone, but it gets caught in the webbing along with the first ogre. Talaris sees this and snaps out of his funk. With no ranged weapon on him, the half-elf eases closer to the wizard and waits for the beast to break free of its sticky restraints. The big bastard continues ripping at the webs, pulling them further away from their anchor points. It wont be long before he rips himself free completely. "You......you can do something about that one......right?" He exclaims to Chauncey nervously.

”Er... well, you see...” begins Chauncey ”...he should be stuck fast for a few moments, at least. Let us go help the others so that they may be freed up to handle his eventual escape. This way! Double time!” He gives the webbed ogre one last alarmed look before scampering over behind Monocar and Luther and, taking a chance, arcing a dart up over Luther’s head at O2. ”Oh! I instantly regret this decision!” he cries as his dart goes floinging randomly into the melee. ”Yes. Perhaps I should stick to magic for now,” he says to no one in particular and begins digging in his component pouch.

Luther swings at the ogre again, but seeing Monocar at 2XL size throws him off, and he misses.

Lightfinger moves.
He pulls his slender blade and charges the 3rd Ogre, it's back wide open. The Thief races in and thrusts, his aim targeting the monster's hamstring!
Hoping the oversized beast will turn around to inspect what stung it, he continues his rapid pace toward the 2nd Ogre.

Ogre Attack: Round 3
Earthday, The 4th of Goodmonth
Mid Afternoon, Hot, Sunny, Very Buggy
Lightfinger leaps the bank and sneaks up behind the passing third ogre. He slashes it across the back of its leg as he scoots by behind it, heading to his next target. The ogre grunts loudly, but doesn't stop its advance on Luther and Monocar, who seem to be having enough trouble of their own. Missing his mark badly, Luther cant get used to seeing an even bigger version of his strange friend. Monocar swings with all his might against the injured ogre, hitting it only by the grace of Lerrick's prayer. The yellow skinned monster cries out again from the painful wound.
Chauncey moves over to the fighters rear flank, waving Talaris along with him. They keep their distance from the fight, but in the excitement of battle, the mage decides to throw another one of his darts away. Alordan sees the first ogre tearing nearly free of the webs so he drops his bow and charges in with his blade. He cuts deep into the big brute and somehow still manages to wrestle his sword free from the sticky substance that the ogre is covered in. Lerrick lets another stone fly, hitting the struggling ogre between its bulbous red eyes with a dull thwacking noise.
Luther and Monocar are both slammed in return by the ogres big clubs as they fight for their lives to put them down. 8 dam/3 dam

Chauncey hesitates a moment, considering his options. His mind flits back to the aquatic troll and the ineffectiveness of his Sleep enchantment against it. These barbaric creatures aren’t quite that imposing. Still...
Finally, deciding against potentially wasting a spell, he reaches down, scoops up a pebble and intones the triggering phrase to Magical Missile, whereupon reality once again reshapes itself to his whim. He flicks the stone which splits into a pair of jagged, deadly projectiles that hurtle towards ogre number 2 with a droning whistle: Upon impact, the air vibrates with a resonant hum.
