Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Travix doesn't want to miss out on the free target practice. He starts lofting darts behind the arrows.
Attack w/ Dart [1d20+2] = 9+2 = 11 Damage [1d4] = 2
Attack w/ Dart [1d20+2] = 8+2 = 10 Damage [1d4] = 2
Attack w/ Dart [1d20+2] = 12+2 = 14 Damage [1d4] = 1
He tries not to look at the dwarf as he fires, hoping to spot where any errant throws land so he can retrieve his missiles.

Give me a couple of more arrow to hit rolls. The creature is still obviously alive. I just need to know how many arrows are used.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Sorry, I missed the flaming arrows bit. That would add enough damage that the last arrow Yulia kills the plant creature. Travix has no need to throw his darts.hammerHead wrote:
With the plant-creatures dispatched, the way is now clear to proceed down the corridor.

Kelsey Those sure were some hardy cave plants!...I’ll do some recon, hopefully there’s nothing waiting for us up ahead!

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Travix jumps the stream and takes a quick look around in the large chamber before advancing. (Chamber 2)
Once he is sure nothing has been missed, he follows the movements of Kelsey closely, trying to make sure that she is ok up ahead all alone.

Using a spear as a walking stick, Palgravadorix keeps a wary eye out for any suspicious looking tendrils. He still seems a bit shaken by his ordeal with the plant creature.
Failure is always an option.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Yulia Carter
Yulia looks around the cavern for any areas hidden in shadow that may require closer inspection.
OOC: The east wall is near limit of torchlight (40') from west of stream and there is an alcove to the north.
OOC: Both Osford and Kelsey are carrying lit torches. Is she going to scout with a torch? Osford's torch has been burning for a while.

Ritbert the Bold
The fighter switches from bow to mighty trident and then crosses the stream.

Kelsey keeps her torch in case she has to use it against other unfriendly fauna.

Osford moves across the area and joins Ritbert.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
There are a lot of areas in the chamber to look. Please be a bit more specific unless you mean he is merely checking the shadows to make sure there is nothing obvious being hidden by them.OGRE MAGE wrote:Travix jumps the stream and takes a quick look around in the large chamber before advancing. Past the area where the two plant creatures where anchored, the walls move in to form a tunnel or more appropriately a channel. The walls of the cavern close in to encompass the water leaving nothing along the sides to walk along. Ahead, you hear the tell-tale sounds of another waterfall but you have difficulty seeing how far ahead it is. The tunnel forms a tube around the water so that the only way to move forward is to enter the water. At the end of your sight, the tunnel shrinks till it is 10 feet across (the width of this moving water) and 2 feet above the water line.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
I don’t remember if anyone has a torch he can borrow, but he will light a candle if he must.
Travix motions for Ulfang to follow him as he moves back along the stream towards the entrance. He walks along the far wall, keeping a distance of about ten feet, moving clockwise around the cavern. He stares into the shadows as he walks around the outside of the walls, not sure what he intends to find. He will eventually meet back up behind the party as they advance through the water.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Where are you starting your search? Back at the waterfall where you came in or just inside this cavern?

If there is time, he will go all the way back. If it is going to hold up the action for everyone else, he will just quickly search the large chamber.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Kelsey lights her torch and heads over to Travix in the large chamber, to offer some needed illumination. Here, take the torch, I’ll stay a few steps behind you.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
As you retrace your steps by going back to the waterfall, you catch a glint of something stuck or wedged in the rocks of the pool of water. Something small, no longer than the length of your forearm.

Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Travix smiles and motions for the others to gather around. He takes a closer look at the item, reaching in to pull it free from the rocks if he can. If it is too far to reach without entering the pool, he will use his staff to poke at it a bit first to see if any trouble arises.
Re: Entering the Pod-Caverns
Using his staff, Travix prods and pokes the item till it breaks free of the rocks and beings to sink further into the pool of water. It appears to be a small casket of wood, about 6 inches across. Wading into the pool, Travix is able to retrieve the casket and show it to the others. The little casket has ab elaborate wooden latch keeping the lid of the box closed.

The mage rings out his robes as best he can, knowing nothing about the waterslide in the next chamber.
He looks over the box carefully, trying to discern if it contains markings of any sort.
Without touching the latch, he hands it over to Kelsey for her to examine for possible dangers.
"Hey guys! Sorry to hold things up, but I think we have found something important here!"
