Is this for the Empire of the Dragon Throne [BECMI/RC] game?

Regardless of your answer to the above, consider me interested.

DH,

Do you want to retire the game folder and start a new one? It would be easy enough to copy the character sheets into a folder on the new thread. And then we would start populating the Completed Games folder.

Looks like we have three players, I was planning for 2 players, but three (making the total six) would work.

And I don't mind putting the old thread in the "completed" Folder.

I think I will be starting up the next module mid month, after I get back from Kansas from a Job interview.

Distorted Humor will give you access when he gets a chance. IIRC his Internet access has been unkind to him lately.

Have you checked out our die roller?
www.unseenservant.com ?
This is a game about killing things and taking their stuff so you can become more powerful in order to kill bigger things and take even better stuff.
Alethan: I'm good with NOT pressing our luck this time.
mjulius: That's how I know I'm home.
Pulpatoon: The whole point of PbP is to take the scheduling pressure off the game. We're just chatty because we're so eager!
Scott308: ...everyone should be reminded of just how wonderful the people they play games with here can be in real life.
Leitz: Quality and quantity wise, I think US is the best I've seen.
Paladin: I can promise terror, glory, and riches...or a quick and brutal death.
Inferno: Come on! That's was Vicar's Head, a completely different doomed village!
Rex: I can move to the wait list to let someone else into the game.

Well the good news is that my internet should be fixed, and my provider gave me a refund for the last month. My DSL modem was bad, but it would self test as being ok. New modem, no more problems :)

dmw71, learjet22, Bouv you have been added -

You will roll up charicters (4d6 drop the lowest, and you can place them as you see fit, but no adjusting the stats) and give yourself 500 xp and double the normal starting gold. Right now we have a Dwarf, a Halfing, and a wizard as PCs, plus a few NPCs that will be cycled out.

Sorry for the noob question (Well I am a noob.. ) but what does BECMI stand for? I'm still trying to figure out all the acronyms you guys use on here.

Otherwise I'm interested.

Frequently, when people throw around abbreviations, they're referring to the edition of the game or the specific rulebook being referenced.

Common rulebook abbreviations:
PHB: Players Handbook
DMG: Dungeon Masters Guide
MM: Monster Manual (there's also a Monster Manual II)
FF: Fiend Folio
DD: Deities and Demigods

When it comes to editions of the game, there is basic/classic/original D&D and Advanced D&D, or AD&D. The following post illustrates the basic/classic/original editions of the game (of which BECMI is one) and their free, OSRIC alternatives: viewtopic.php?p=12205#p12205

After the games listed in the above post, AD&D has been issued in several editions:

1st Edition (1E)
2nd Edition (2E)
---
3rd Edition (3E) <-- Note: There's also a 3.5 which is simply called 3.5.
4th Edition (4E)
5th Edition (5E) <-- Note: I don't know if this officially released yet, or still in playtest mode, but Wizards of the Coast has (or will) be releasing this latest edition which, I believe, they're labeling D&D Next.

Also see: Editions of Dungeons and Dragons
---

Some will argue there's a big difference between 1E and 2E. Personally, I don't see it. I was always a 1E purist (or the pre-AD&D editions from the link shared above), but discovered 2E after joining the boards here and my feeling is 2E is a cleaner version of 1E. There is really no room for debate, however, that there is a massive shift in the game after you move from 2E to 3E and beyond.

if your still want to play, let me know, though we starting within a week on the 2nd module.

there are many versions of D&D, there is also two verations of D&D for many years, one where nonhuman races where a class (so you where a Elf, and not a elf fighter for example) and one of the most famous examples of this is the BECMI set, which provided rules for levels 1-36.
