Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Quinn gasps loudly as he starts breathing once again. His color instantly improves and he sits up slowly. He's not sure what hurts more, the wounds or the headache.Dumnbunny wrote:Razluki kneels down beside the fallen Quinn, lays hands on his poisoned wounds, and mutters the words Trithereon taught him to neutralize poison.
Quinn will be weak and unsteady on his feet for the next 3 turns.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Since he knows his present location is safe Quinn will sit and wait until he starts to feel better.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Now that Tixs is down on the floor and can see the pits, he will maneuver around to the side of the painted door he was looking at while he was on top of the box to have a closer look at the "door." Of course avoiding the pits and being careful to check for any more on his way there.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Tix safely moves around the pit with the dead elf in it. Upon closer examination of the door painting you can see that something is indeed concealed under the plaster of the wall. Fine cracks can be seen in the wall surface exactly along the edges of the painted door.sparkles wrote:Now that Tixs is down on the floor and can see the pits, he will maneuver around to the side of the painted door he was looking at while he was on top of the box to have a closer look at the "door." Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle continues his zig zag journey down the hall while Quinn is recovering. The monk makes it safely to the end of the hall. His use of a staff to probe the floor ahead paid off revealing 2 more pits. He holds his lantern high to have a look at the area. The red tile path splits here. One branch leads to the great leering green devil face. It's mouth a perfect o of blackness. The other branch of the path leads to a stone archway. A veil of swirling mists fills the arch blocking any view of what lies beyond.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle walks within about 8 feet of the swirling mist and slowly pokes his stick into the mist. If anything starts to suck or pull him in any other direction he will do everything he can to fight his way into the misty arch.
"If the wall is to be believed I think we need to step into this arch and avoid that green devil face.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Seeing that Quinn is being cared for, Skarlos will move to join Bindle, being very careful to avoid the pits. He will stand ready to grap him if Bindle is dragged towards the arch.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
"Go back to the 'tormentor' or though the arch...?", McCloud is not sure which is the better of two evils..."any clues Quinn, did you see any bright lights at the end of the tunnel or did we pull you back too early?"
McCloud will assist Tics in exploring the fresco. I'm sure we can both stand on the edges of the pit and reach across to chip away the plaster. Does the fresco scene picture any creature I may recognise.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Tix will carefully use his dagger to pry a little bit of the plaster away. Enough to have a look at what is beneath. He will be checking for any traps and he covers his mouth as to not inhale anything.
Aye boys, I think we have something under the plaster here!

Skiiratch carefully makes his way down the hallway, around the trapped pits.
"Doesn't the riddle make it sound like there is something IN the pits that we need to know before we move on?"

By request I have copied Acererak's message (what you have so far) to a new thread for easy reference.
Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
The staff enters the mist with no resistance and no ill effect. The green devil face does not try to suck you in, but the inky blackness of the mouth is sort of hypnotic. You can't help but stare at it and wonder what's on the other side. The temptation to reach a hand into the opening; just to break the darkness, touch it, feel if it's real; is tangible. Skarlos can confirm that he feels the very same temptation.AQuebman wrote:Bindle walks within about 8 feet of the swirling mist and slowly pokes his stick into the mist. Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Tix and McCloud work at opposite sides of the door. The plaster flakes away with little effort and you both very quickly reveal what appears to be the edge of a wooden door concealed under the plaster and mural. The hinge side is on the north near McCloud.
McCloud does not recognize the creature gripping the bars of the window in the painting. It is humanoid with, scaled hide, clawed hands and malevolent eyes.

Using his MageLite, Skiiratch checks the walls of the various pit traps for more writing or imagery or... clues.

Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Bindle grips at his head trying to fight the urge. He backs up along the path trying to avoid looking at or thinking about the green demon.
"Do any of you have rope we can use? I think we need to check the walls of all of the pits the writing on the wall seems to indicate keys in the walls perhaps in the pits is where these keys could be found? I'm willing to be tied to a rope and check it out if you guys will hold onto the other end."

McCloud will set about hacking the plaster and the freso with some gusto..(the creature gripping the bars of the window in the painting. It is humanoid with, scaled hide, clawed hands and malevolent eyes)....."it reminds me of the mother-in-law, bless her scaly hide!", McCloud will offer has he stabs out the eyes

"I have some rope in my backpack. I am still feeling a little off but you are free to borrow it." Quinn removes the length of rope from his backpack and offers it to Bindle.AQuebman wrote:"Do any of you have rope we can use? Re: Finally Inside the Tomb
Ironbeard suddenly stops stuffing his rope into his pack and glowers at Bindle under his bushy eyebrows. A deep sigh can be heard. He pulls it back out and strolls over to the Monk. Ya clambern zis time. Ae'll hold d'rope."Do any of you have rope we can use?
