Big Shiny Island (could use some fresh meat)

#1 Post by OGRE MAGE »

Hey folks!

I have a few openings in a solid AD&D 1E sandbox that has been running for a little over 2 years on here now.

This is a high fantasy, mysterious jungle romp on an uncharted and unexplored island. Though the game is already well afoot, that shouldn't dissuade you from joining. So far, after 2 years of playing, the highest level any character has attained is 4th. If you are worried about "catching up" with the others, don't. This game is designed for any initiated characters to gain XP quickly.

Posting rate is every 2-3 days. Over a dozen "missions" have already been successfully completed with minimal character deaths. You don't need to worry about reading through 10,000 posts to get acquainted with the game, since virtually none of the major plot points have been revealed yet. I will give any new players a bit of background and you will be off and running right away. The current players in this game are all great!!!! Every one of them is willing to help out a newcomer and there is absolutely ZERO conflict, whining, or any other in-game issues whatsoever.

So, if you like fast moving old-school D&D, and are interested in a long running game that isn't going away anytime soon, give us a look. We love fresh meat players, and new recruits are being shipped to the island all the time. Please feel free to take a closer look and let me know if you are interested. Feel free to post any questions you might have. Thanks!

Big Shiny Island Awaits..... :D

Great!

The first to respond avoids the physical and drug screening. ;)

Take a look at the character generation thread.

There is a group ready to leave town shortly, so you will be up and "rolling" as soon as you can get a character ready.

I've been in this game for some time now, and I highly recommend it. Even the loss of a character couldn't keep me away. The story is extremely engaging, the writing is very well done, and the NPC's are varied and interesting. No kidding at all, I've been gaming 1st Edition since 1978, and this is one of the better games I've ever been in.

Been playing this game since day 1 when I was invited directly over by OM after coming into one of his other games which had wrapped up. It has been one of my all time favorite games so far in over 25 years of gaming. He does a great job. All you need to do is make a character and bring Monocar Sandwiches, and everything will be awesome from there on out!

You can also take a look at the character generation thread to see how things work.

At the top of every page, on the right hand side, is something called the US Dice Roller.

Click on that and create a profile. (as far as I know, it can be the same log-in info as your Forum profile)

Once you get in there, you will see all the nifty ways we roll dice and make characters and stuff. :D

I am happy to help you through the process if you get stuck. If you have any questions, just ask.

Looks like you just started a new mission. I just joined Unseen Servant and would love to get in on the next mission if you are still looking for players whenever that is. Don't know 1E AD&D though. I started on 2E AD&D back in the 90's. Will that be an issue?

Welcome to the US, KP. :D

1E.....2E.......what's the difference? (that was rhetorical) I like good, creative players in my games. If you know 2E, you're good to go.

Get a character started and we will see where this goes. :D

Warning: I am currently on vacation till next week and won't have a lot of time till then to review this stuff. You can send me a sheet or any questions in a PM, but I might not be able to respond immediately.

I'm going to be on vacation from the 12th to the 19th, if you're still looking for players after that I would be very interested!
