Expedition: Fingers/Ghostly Trial - Part II - 23 July 2021
Re: Expedition: Fingers/Ghostly Trial - Part II - 23 July 20
He's a pissed off monster. They usually keep chasing until something prevents them from doing so or you convince them to leave you alone (by, for example, killing them).
If he was going to leave us alone, he wouldn't have come through the wall, right?

Markd will stand to fight as well, then, knowing the others are doomed if they stay without him.
: long sword+1(2undead) (Thac0 16) [1d20+2] = 10+2 = 12; damage [1d8+2] = 7+2 = 9
(with the +2 undead, should hit AC2)
Initiative [1d6] = 5
and again though useless.

Does anyone know where Mark's quarterstaff is? I think the cleric turned it down. So, would he have it on his back, or did the npc cleric borrow it?

Right now, Markd is carrying it across his back.
Allmond is carrying the Staff of Healing, but that isn't a magical weapon.
Markd has also narratively been carrying the lantern and his golden knife. As he drawn his sword (or otherwise), I need to know what he gives up.

It's Markd's lantern, but I thought we had Allmond carrying the lantern for us as a non combatant.

I have no problem with handing it to the NPC. I'll just annotate it below.
Also, per the OOC discussion, Hengist doesn't need to hold the turning, so he can attack, too.
Markd and Bandy both step forward to strike the spectral figure with their swords, but fail to catch it in time. Hengist swings his mace, but it passes straight through the ghost's form without any impact. Fingers steps back to avoid the spectre's threat while Allmond holds the lantern aloft to illuminate the fight.
The ghastly figure flees back through the wall where it emerged. The scrabbling and slamming against the door continues.
Date: 2:21pm, 24 July 2021
Light: Allmond holding Markd's lantern (until 4:30pm)
Effects: Turning
Injuries: None

With nothing handy to assist in blocking the door, Bandy slowly backs away from it, glancing over at Fingers and the other party members. "How long is that door going to hold do you wonder?"

Markd looks around and suggests they look elsewhere for adventure, knowing that door cant hold forever.

"Not long enough," answers Fingers. "And I didn't bring any spikes either. I say we let the might o' Baudh scare 'em back into their coffins. And if that doesn't work...run?"

I am pretty sure I can drive them back, perhaps into their coffins, but I doubt they will stay there long. Still, I can't think of a better plan Hengist readies his holy symbol.

"Okay, here's the plan, says Fingers as the living dead beat at the door. "Hengist and Allmond, you set up with a good view of the door to try to turn the things when they come out. Bandy and Markd, stand just in front of them on either side and protect them from anything that doesn't go running. I'll stand by the door where I can attack from behind when they come rushing out. Sprinkes: stay, and don't get hit."
"Okay?"

The party takes positions and waits while the banging continues.
Is someone stepping up to open the door, or are you waiting for them to break it down?

"Huh," says Fingers after a few moments. "I thought they'd be able to break that thing down. Um...yay?"
"So, should we open the door, turn 'em, and take their stuff? Wait a little longer? Wander away? I kind of want that jerk ghost's stuff now."

Markd looks at Fingers and frowns.
No, I dont think we should. no sense looking for a fight until we have to.

Does the door open towards us, or away?
Re: Expedition: Fingers/Ghostly Trial - Part II - 23 July 20
"I think that door won't hold them for long. Better to be done with them, if possible. Maybe we can control them at the doorway?"
Bandy readies his sword and nods at Fingers to indicate he's ready.
