Raif and Friends
Raif ignores any threats leveled against him, and simply waits, his steely glare shifting from one opponent to the next. The rapidly approaching sound of reinforcements is heard coming from behind him, so he steps forward, his grin growing ever more confident. The second door is thrown open and in stream Raif's companions.

As each new member, all wearing crimson cloaks, of his crew emerges, without turning around, Raif introduces them as if they have a well-practiced order and formation. "Allow me to introduce Elowen, and Dorick, and Craimmar, and, in the back, is Yara."

Elowen is donning a suit of leather armor and carries a warhammer:

Junius introduces himself to the rest of the gang members.

It is a pleasure to meet you. Now, can someone please tell me what is going on here? We were asked to kill some wicked goblins, but really no nothing of this part of the countryside. I take it that is your mission, too, then? Perhaps, once my colleagues here stop their idle boasts, we can help each other accomplish that feat?

Seeing two women entering the room, Vernon awkwardly brushes his hair to the side and smiles. Hi. I'm Vernon. I like your cloaks. He looks around the group and suggests they should get matching cloaks too. These guys look very professional, don't you think?

Crimson Brotherhood
Juinus moves to introduce himself to the newly arrived members of the Crimson Brotherhood, but his efforts are spurned. "The time for talk has passed dwarf," Raif snaps, clearly put off by the interactions to this point, and the emphasis placed on Junius' race seemingly hinting at a dislike there. The warrior raises his two-handed sword and levels it in Junius' direction.

Dorick is seen bringing a glass bottle to his lips and prepares to drink its contents.

Yara slinks into the room, places her back against the far wall, crouches down and attempts to hide, but her form can still be detected if actively looking in her area.

Craimmar continues to twirl his pair of short swords as he heads directly at Keebler.

Elowen raises a holy symbol attached to a chain worn around her neck and begins to recite the words from a familiar prayer.

Vernon draws his bow string back, expecting more of the same. His shot flies true, right at Dorick. YESSS!!! he shouts in surprise and glee.

AdaRue, once again, finds her armor binding on her sling arm, her rock flying wide of her intended mark, Raif.

Short Bow (THAC0 19): [1d20] = 16, dmg [1d6] = 5
Sling [1d20] = 2, dmg [1d4] = 4
I know it is only coincidence, but AdaRue has only made one successful sling shot since buying that damned armor in the last town, and several of those were 1's.

Based on the room layout, that should be an attack from behind. Hopefully.

Since nothing is left but suicide, Sacro fires a brighton tip arrow at , well, the wall apparently.

Junius stabs his scimitar into the dirt in front of Raif.

Round 1
The Brotherhood acts slightly faster than the party does.

Raif brings his massive blade around, looking to slice Junius in half, but the dwarf is able to hop back and out of harm's way as the warrior's blade ends up slicing nothing except air in front of him.

Dorick sips the contents from the glass bottle be brought to his lips and disappears!

Yara still under the impression she is hidden, creeps along the outer wall and comes to rest at a section of the rock outer wall that juts inward.

Craimmar approaches Keebler still twirling his pair of short swords. He picks his spot, then lunges at the elf with one of his blades, but jabs wildly.

Her holy symbol still in her hand, Elowen completes her prayer. An instant later, a bright burst of light flashes directly in front of AdaRue's face. Elowen yelps as she gets struck by Canun's sling stone moments after getting her spell off. She turns to face the cleric and stares angrily.

A flash of flight directly in front of her eyes distracts AdaRue enough to cause her projected sling stone to sail harmlessly over Raif's head.

Vernon takes aim a Dorick and just as he lets loose his arrow, his target completely disappears! His air must have been true, however, as his arrow stops in mid air as it hit its mark! Dorick's body "appears" to fall forward, the arrow still stuck in his chest falling with him. It stops as it hits the floor and a solid thudding sound is heard. Horatio, who snarks about not being best friends, also sends an arrow towards Dorick's back, who turned invisible moments earlier. Unlike Vernon's arrow, the thief's projectile doesn't stop in mid air and sails harmlessly through the air and crashes into the far wall. Sacro's arrow, too, sails wide and the Brightontip arrow shatters as it hits the far wall.

Junius, intent on avoiding the harmful effects of a two-handed sword being swung in his direction errors in his attempt to slice Raif with his scimitar.

Combating taking place all around him, Keebler centers his 'Sleep' spell in such a way as to capture as many opponents as possible -- and his spell is successful. The elf watches as Elowen and Craimmar collapse into a nice slumber, but Vernon, Sacro, and AdaRue also find themselves in the area of the spell's effects and they tumble to the floor as well.

Raif, Yara, and Canun escape its effects.

Rusty Tincanne, please make a saving throw versus 'spells' (15+) for AdaRue. Success means she is able to closer her eyes and look away in time; failure means, for the duration of the combat (and longer), she will be blinded (-4 on attack rolls).

Just because Dorick is invisible, would he not still be possibly affected by the sleep spell?

Vernon slumps to the ground, narrowly avoiding falling into the well as he does so.

AdaRue falls to the ground unceremoniously, sleeping in darkness.

Kicking people to wake them up sounds right up Canun's alley.

Keebler fires an arrow at the "hiding" Yara.
Long bow (THAC0 19): [1d20] = 14, [1d8] = 3

Horatio tries to circle around to attack Raiff from behind.
Longsword (THAC0 19): [1d20+1] = 4+1 = 5 [1d8+1] = 5+1 = 6
Roll does not include any bonus for attacking from behind, not that it will matter with that roll.

Round 2
Sensing the tide has turned against them, Raif produces a small, glass flask and imbibes its contents. An instant later, the warrior disappears into a wisp of smoke which fades into a translucent, gaseous consistency that retreats through the set of double doors in the northern wall. The lightly encumbered Yara, seeing her leader flee, abandons all efforts of hiding and full-out runs for the double-doors.

Keebler takes aim at his fleeing target and lets loose an arrow, clipping her shoulder just before she slips through the double doors in the northern wall, where her progress has her nearly reaching the end of the hallway.

Inside the chamber, Junius swipes his scimitar in the location where Raif was, but his blade passes harmlessly through the air in that direction after his target vanishes!

The rest of the party is either sleeping or paralyzed, and Canun begins to kick them awake.

Keebler reaches for one of the brightontip arrows and fires it well over the fleeing Yara's shoulder. He gives his remaining brighton arrows a quizzical look, wondering if they fly as well as normal arrows.

Long bow, brightontip arrow (THAC0 19): [1d20] = 3, [1d10] = 1

Dave, can Horatio get into position to fire an arrow at the fleeing Yara, or is his only hope of attacking her by chasing?

It'll be close, but he can certainly attempt it. If the "monsters" win initiative, she can easily disappear around the corner before anyone would be able to get an attack in.

Horatio also fires an arrow at the fleeing Yara.

Long bow, brightontip arrow (THAC0 19): [1d20+2] = 6+2 = 8 [1d10] = 4
Does not include any bonus for attacking from the rear.

I don't need to say that neither Keebler nor Horatio will fire if Yara is already around the corner, right?

My initial thought is that they would need to commit to their action (e.g. an archer would lose their arrow like a spell-caster would lose their spell if their casting gets interrupted).

That said, without giving too much away, I wouldn't worry too much about ammunition at this point. Actually, upon second thought, let's just scrap tracking ammunition from here on out.

Fire at will.
