Baxtaw spins around the corner and casts one of his Magic missiles around the corner. Who speaks goblin let them know we have alot more of these magic missiles. We will pick them off one by one. They can all die or help us.

Bremen rolls his eyes in the dark. So... I guess you don't want to try making then think we left. How long before you run out of the spell then? He suggests to Piers that, perhaps he could target the opposite side of the table-barricade, blinding the goblins, allowing the adventures to charge with less chance of being hit.

If Baxtaw wants to go the route of magic missile-ing then, I think you can just roll a bunch of damage rolls and Marullus can do with it what he will.

Piers could take that as casting light or darkness to blind the goblins, but darkness would make it difficult for Baxtaw to target the goblins.

Magic Missiles don't miss. If Osuna has Farie fire it could confuse them, possibly make them panic.

I wasn't sure how that worked if the goblins are in a mystically created pitch blackness. Don't you need to see something to target it?

Lug takes a second sip of the potion (+1), then sits on the stairs a turn upwards with his torch, waiting for the others to finish below. Osana ascends and waits with Lug.

Bremen fires another magical blast down the hallway, Piers shouts more threats. The goblins seem to hold ranks.

(Baxtaw, how many of your missiles do you shoot? Otherwise, do you go with the "silent for 40 minutes" plan?)

Date: 9:20pm, 25 July 2021
Light: None (-4 penalties); Lug's Torch (until 10:00pm)
Effects: None
Injuries: Lug (severe wound), Bremen (moderate wound), Baxtaw (minor wound), Stantz (minor wound), Clouson (minor wound)

The goblin's hallway is lit with torches. Baxtaw's missiles can shoot 150' so he can see them and hit them. If you cast Darkness there, it will blot out the light there (15' radius) but also prevent magic missiles. (You can shoot in bows with -2, not -4, penalty due to the crowded conditions.)

Bremen doesn't have any magic missiles. That was probably a typo and meant to say Baxtaw. But it seems that Baxtaw and Osuna escaped retaliatory fire from the goblins. Maybe because you can cast magic missile and then release it later, not taking time to aim.

The response above was meant to address this - the posted roll showed that it failed as an attempt to intimidate them and the goblins hold ranks.

The goblins do not shout a formal response. Piers do hear some ribald joking about where you can shove the magic missiles, followed by laughter among the goblin's fellows. Lug and Osana sit together further up the stairwell.

Your party sits in the darkness, hoping to surprise the goblins when they get curious and come to check if you've really gone. True to their nature, they eventually do - you hear the whispers among them and the clinking of their armor pieces as they proceed cautiously down the hallway. Your ruse is unsuccessful, however - before you can spring your surprise with the light spell, a goblin shouts, "They're still here! Get back!"

There are eight goblins forward of the barricade, about 20' from you in the hallway. You're currently in darkness.

Bremen lights up a torch and walks toward the portcullis. Next time you try and storm a mountain-hold, Baxtaw, I'd suggest bringing some siege equipment. Or some way to subdue your enemies.

One with Lug and Osuna, Bremen asks Father Clauson to tend to the large man's wounds. He tries (in vain) to lift the portcullis. Anyone game for trying the front entrance?

Baxtaw- Lets move out and look for another entrance or cry your asses back to the the city. Where you can wait for the fully healed dragon burn it to ashes. And if you think you can just run to your tower. Let it be known he said that he will destroy all men. Baxtaw heads up the steps past Lug. Hands him his potion of healing. Here heal yourself up.

Please pause the gate-related conversation. Right now we're in a combat round and Bremen is fleeing. That needs to be adjudicated before you start roleplaying being snarky up the stairwell. :) Baxtaw, Piers, Rowina, and Crowgar are still left facing the goblins - I need Baxtaw to address the goblins (or fleeing) before he posts with those up the stairs.
