12 - Fight in the Forest
Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Tella - once she gets back up she can see where Vek is about to try fighting the oil gargoyle. Vek is in the way of the beast somewhat for simple direct attack spells.

Glimble if done reloading looks for a target to shoot.

Round 2
Roseheart and Glimble survey the forest, looking back at where Vek, Tella, and Enoka battle the oil slick beast.
The fire is getting larger, the orcs are definitely going to have to deal with that and the entangle zone as they come charging in heedless of the danger.
Suddenly a group of melted things emerge from the trees closing in on the pair (Roseheart and Glimble can both act this round freely they won't reach you until next round). They emit another round of wretched moans, and below the yellow puss you can see vestigial organs of some sort, twisting and heaving. They are the most horrifying wretched things you've ever seen.
Meanwhile, as vek closes in on the ebony greased thing, Garls spare and then Garl appear out of nowhere and he backstage the beast. While it doesn't appear to damage it much, it distracts it, and then Veks sword goes to work. He strikes the beast with sweeping blows, using his shield to block the hissing streams of black blood that burst forth.
Enoka and Tella huddle down amongst the trees, there may be more of these this ngs out there... You are both still near the open chest, with its fortune.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Roseheart looks this way and that at the chaos around them until the rotting whatever-the-hell-they-are things emerge. He quickly fires off a spell that will keep them at bay! With outstretched hands and a sharply spoken "electrica mortem" he directs bolts of electric death to this foul things.

Either one works if it takes out a majority of their forces. Plus as mentioned we are outdoors.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Tella - are you going to wing a fireball out to decimate the orcs? You should be able to detonate it Past the entangle zone.
Glimble, your shot was at the melted things that just slipped out of the trees near you and Roseheart? Or at the orcs?

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
Vek frowns as he sees that the chest merely holds useless riches and nothing fragile enough to ransom for their lives.
The grim warrior's frustrations distract him as he attacks, and he slips in the oil trail of the ebon demon.
Vek: +3 Long Sword: To Hit: [1d20+8] = 1+8 = 9 . Damage: S/M: [1d8+9] = 2+9 = 11 , L: [1d12+9] = 10+9 = 19

Garl seeing that his attacks are ineffective tried to slip behind a tree and ambush the next thing that comes up.
Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
Round 3 -
Garl hides behind a tree just in time to see a black streak in the woods. One of those demon gargoyle things moving in an circle about your band. Garl sticks to his position, ducking down and allowing the shadows to swallow him.
Behind Garls spot, Vek pulls back his sword for another chop exposing an opening for just a moment. During this quick reveal, the black oily beast bites him, several sharp teeth crunching into his armor (10 damage). He knocks the creature back with his shield and then brings his sword down again and again, and back ichor flies once more and Vek sends it back to whence it came...
As Enoka recovers and huddles by the chest and the trees of the thicket, Tella looses a fireball just as Glimble shoots the lead orc appearing just over yonder. Enoka can clearly see Vek and his battle with the now dying oily gargoyle.
In the next group over, Glimble's shot wings the lead charging orc, and then the whole area goes up in a blast of red fire! The crimson fire ignites several small brush fires, and the smoke of trees and orcs fills the woods. There are now several fires ringing your position, the air may start to get bad here in a little while
With the orcs dispatched, you next hear a screaming shriek of a lightning bolt, tearing through huddle of melted things closing in on Roseheart. They explode in piles of acidic bile as white light rips through their huddle. There might be one or two left, but Roseheart will need to clear his vision before he can tell.

Re: 12 - Fight in the Forest
is anything alive and attacking near Glimble? If there is or isn't it matters as it changes my actions.

Tantos Vek, failed paladin:
His merciless sword as brutally efficient as ever, Vek ceases the slaughter long enough to scan the battlefield for any living enemies among the smoking aftermath of his friends' fearsome spells. He hopes he finds some.
"We need some alive to question about the Fatman's current whereabouts." Vek grunts as he swings his sword clean of black, oily blood. "Time is on his side. Time to hide, heal, regain his strength. Having the Fatman on the run and penniless is the best chance we'll have now... to kill him."
Vek's eyes keep scanning for movement.

Roseheart falls back with the group (am I by myself with these melty things?) to take stock of the situation...
