"We overturned his apple cart for a while at least," Vek grunts unhappily.

He points out the distant towers of civilization to the others.

If the chest is wooden, and Garl doesn't reveal himself and try to open it in the next few minutes, Vek will stand behind it and hack it asunder with cold steel.

With the danger apparently passed Garl goes to work on the locked chest he labored so hard to retrieve.

Enoka puts away her scimitar. She shields her eyes from the sun above and looks to find shade if any is around, while she waits for the party to move on.

Garl works at the lock for a while, slowly and cautiously, and then with a reaffirming click he picks it and the lock is opened!

Glimble ever the curious one comes over to see what is in the chest after hearing the lock picked. "Well what do we have in the chest?"

Roseheart floats even further away if, from his untrained eye, there weren't any traps sought after...

Watching everyone back up, Vek joins them.

Garl notices that most of his party suspects magical traps. Does he try opening the chest, or wait for your magic users to do some detect magic and dispel magic if needed?

Glimble backs up as well realizing he is the only one that hasn't backed away from the chest.

Garl will speak up "Do you all know something you are not telling me?". With that he checks for traps.

Garl you check for traps but don't find any physical traps. There could be an invisible magical trap waiting for you though.

Vek continues backing up. He looks to the casters and croaks, "Better dispel the thing. Better safe than sorry."

DM: Is this the only chest that was being hauled out by the guardians of the fleeing Fatman?

Roseheart responds to Vek "I don't have any spells that could remove magic from the chest. Now, if you wanted it burnt to a crisp - I'm your man" He says with a chuckle, releasing some of the built up tension from the chase through streets of Skullport... "I have a rope we can tie to the thing and maybe overturn it, but that's about the best I can do.."

Glimble speaks up "I used my only dispel back in the alley as we had planned remember that's when the fatman's illusion vanished."

OCC: is the chest made of wood? I could use warp wood on it.
