Captain Bremen
Seeing the myriad merchants arriving daily for the festival, Captain Bremen walks over to a few likely (and more wealthy) candidates. Good morrow. Congratulations on getting by the goblin raiders. Of course, now you have human beggars and thieves to contend with. My name is Captain Bremen. I'll be heading out on the 3rd of June on a mission from the Temple, but in the mean time I'd be willing to provide security services for your stall. Keep an eye open for anything untoward and deal with it swiftly and quietly as possible.
Dude is BROKE!!! Of course his preference is to guard the ladies finery stall, but he'll take most anything. If there is an armorer with a heavy crossbow, he'd offer to do that in exchange for a swap of his light crossbow (and quarrels, of course).

The newly arrived merchant look over Captain Bremen, then grunts in acquiescence. "It'd be good to have someone who knows the locals... things sometimes get dicey over festivals. Free ale, and all." The merchants negotiate among themselves, agreeing that 5gp would be an appropriate rate for almost a week's work. The smithy also offers to exchange the newly-purchased light crossbow for a heavy one in lieu of that payment.

Captain Bremen nods to the smithy and hods out his hand. It's a deal then. I'll only take time off for the archery competition then - and check out the quality of that fine crossbow. It is a step down from his position in the southlands, but a step up from poverty. And a way to make a small name for himself with the local militia.

Before leaving the Chapel of Baudh, Piers will see about borrowing a child's drawing slate and some chalk from the "Sunday School" supplies (see below). After that he will proceed to the general store and purchase a set of 8 torches for both of his new companions. He'll also purchase 2 extra days unpreserved rations for all 3 of them.
2 gold, 1 silver, 6 copper deducted for rations and torches

13 July:
Ablesforth wanders the town purchasing a backpack, bedroll and 7 rations for Brother Dolph. He purchases a silver holy symbol of Eruanna. He converts what is left of his gold to 3 platinum and donates the rest to the infirmary.
Rough math performed with about 10 GP donated to the Infirmary afterwards.

During the days of the dragon crisis talks, Foxy O'Hare talks to the farrier regarding the warhorse in the stables.
"I am surprised Albrecht hasn't polished his helmet and girded his loins to mount this creature and face the dragon. These brave knights and templars of Gaul who deigned to face the goblins, will they arise to face the Wrym? Sell me this warhorse and find me a lance and I will joust with this Crimson-claw myself."

The horse merchant chuckles at Foxy's bravado. "Flame o' the North will be more literal if'n you do that! Don't go disappointing my daughter by dyin'. She's still practicing her little toy bow every day."
He offers you the warhorse for only 250gp and throws in the saddle, tack, and a Lance.

Foxy O'Hare
Foxy checks the horse over, giving it the run around in the parade ring. She checks the ankle fetlocks and shins for splints, hooves for wear, its' girth and broadness of shoulders. She grooms the withers and blows into its' nostrils, counts the teeth and bridle bit.
"It has been gelded I see, like so many other males in this town. I will need to have words with the Duke, if he wishes to have his pennons to be carried in battle or mine? Did Galavan throw its' last mount for he wandered in alone from the prairie? 200gp should buy the horse but I look forward to more than one joust with the dragon. I need it barding too, tight and blinkered over the forehead so it shies not or gets distracted on the periphery. I should seek out the forge masters for their advice, leather for speed or chain for security?"
Foxy checks out her purse."Find me a newly cut Ashwood lance, they are most supple. It has to have a forearm brace fitted to steady my shoulder on any impact. No more than a medium weight one for I doubt I have the strength of arm to raise a thicker one. Harness, mouth bit and bridle, saddle and blanket. I can manage the 20 gold to cover the expenses of those."
In principle Foxy will agree to buy the horse but we need to negotiate on the price. Presently she has purse enough to buy the extras' and keep her around town. Ideally the Duke should pay for the horse or at least furnish her and the horse with a suit of armour.

Re: Town Business (Gaul)
The price was 300gp. I posted a CHA roll for you, which you passed, so I had him lower it to 250gp and throw in the tack/lance. Consider that the culmination of negotiations.

A large badger noses through the door to the general store, followed by Clarabelle, a young girl from the Farrow farmstead. Clay re-introduces himself to the patron and asks Clarabelle to pay the coin. She stows the food in Clay's old backpack, dons it, and they depart.
