An austere and officious village elder, devoted to the village and his duties. "I enjoyed myself, I don't get to do much science fiction. But I hated putting on the makeup. I had to meet with Fred Philips two hours before and after every shoot, and I'd still find green and white marks on my clothes on the way home!"

Re: Episode Guest Stars (NPCs)
Jack Klugman
starring as Carlax, the Romulan Agent!
Whether you are a fan of crime shows like The Naked City and situational comedies like Harris Against the World, or your cerebral sensibilities allow you to watch only the best anthology programming television has to offer, you will be pleased to recognize the handsome face and unusually versatile skill of Jack Klugman. He makes a riveting performance as a Romulan agent, one of Star Trek's most fearsome and memorable race of villains, and as usual brings a certain rare, dark humanity to the role not usually seen in science fiction boogeymen.

Re: Episode Guest Stars (NPCs)
Randy Boone

The male romantic interest in this episode is played by Randy Boone. Born and bred in Fayetteville, N.C., Mr. Boone has just the convincing rugged stance and youthful verve to portray the troubled Coxan lad, who must choose between the proud heritage of his people and the inner call of his heart for justice.
Introductions one and two.

Re: Episode Guest Stars (NPCs)
Yvonne De Carlo
starring as Ursula Norton!
One of the shadowy arch villains of the episode is played by the titanic Yvonne De Carlo, who is taking a temporary break from her duty on The Munsters to guest star. Her menacing portrayal of the femme fatale still can't hide her sense of humor on set: "It's funny, usually for a space fiction program a guest star has to put on lots of makeup, but I'm glad that in this case I get to take a break from all that!"
