Greetings!
Greetings!
Hi there!
My name is Roberto and I'm from Brazil. My first RPG experience was back in the early 90ies with the D&D black box. Later I played other games like AD&D 2E, Vampire: The Masquerade, LOTR Adventure Game, Arkanun (a Brazilian game system) and others. But after testing these other RPGs, my group kept the black box for the coming years (expanded with rules from magazines and rules borrowed from other games).
After 1999 the group was solved, I joined some games at the university (always as a player, I was mainly the DM for my old group) but never got really into gaming again. I tried to join a "virtual tabletop" campaign, but gamedays were hard for me to attend, so I gave up.
But now I'm here, after reading through some of your nice adventures I feel that I found something I can join and have fun without compromising my routine. So I hope to join some of the games in the near future or maybe just keep watching.
Anyway, congratulations for your nice forums, people!
Best Regards
Roberto
ps.: I know my English skills are not very good, but I hope they are not unacceptable.

Re: Greetings!
Ahem...nitpicking linguist hat...ON!
It is not "Hola", that is Castellano. Roberto's native language would be Brazilian Portuguese.
So you would say "Olá" or, if you want to get less formal the simpler "Oí".
That said...
Hope you find a game soon and have fun!

Welcome to the Unseen Servant, Roberto!
Don't know about your spoken English, but your written English looks just fine; don't you worry about that.
Playing options generally show up quite often, so I'm sure it won't be long before you have a chance to join in.
Cheers,
Al

Obrigado! Howdy Roberto! And welcome to a fine forum with lots of good folks!
Winter is coming...
Re: Greetings!
Welcome Roberto. The only Portuguese I know is 'No ano que vem' and I'm not sure what that means.
It's from one of my favorite songs of all time: http://youtu.be/lfx5xu2lAs0
Let us know if you have any questions or need any help. I'm sure you'll find a game to jump into, so good luck and thanks for joining.

Welcome, Roberto!
I'm confident you'll be able to find a game to join before long, and the great thing about play-by-post is, the format is extremely flexible. Players from all time zones and with any number of varried schedules should have no problem participating in this type of game.
Good luck, and welcome aboard!

If you're concerned about your English skills, I should really be worried about mine (and it is my native language)!rremedio wrote:ps.: I know my English skills are not very good, but I hope they are not unacceptable.

Thank you all guys!

Yes! Everything looks nice here.hedgeknight wrote:Howdy Roberto! And welcome to a fine forum with lots of good folks!
"No ano que vem" means "In the next year". I didn't know that song yet, no really my kind of stuff, but still enjoyable. So far I've been checking rules and tutorials and spying all the games. I'm in no hurry but I hope to start playing soon.ToniXX wrote:Welcome Roberto. Thank you! After reading through some of the games I believe the play-by-post games are the best way available for me to get back into RPG. I have no real life group, no enough free time to join virtual tabletops, but I have more than enough time to check the games daily and post every time it's required. So, I believe I'll be cutting some orc heads off soondmw71 wrote:Welcome, Roberto! If you're concerned about your English skills, I should really be worried about mine (and it is my native language)!rremedio wrote:ps.: I know my English skills are not very good, but I hope they are not unacceptable.
