Ch. 1: Finding the entrance to the Tomb
Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
OOC: I'm going to be kind here and assume you do not pull the rope while Xale and his follower are still in the hall. Don't get used to it.
When the dwarves finally crawl out of the hall the rest of you give the rope a tug.
The door swings open with a creak followed by the rumble of moving stone. The ceiling of the hall collapses raining down boulders. A cloud of dust billows out of the opening as the hall way is filled with stones and rubble.
OOC: Mason -1 rope

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
After stopping coughing from the dust Halbrad exclaims:
"Oi! That nearly put me off me birches! Good thing none of us stayed in the hall..." then turning to rest of the party he adds, "What to do now, my friends?"

OOC: 40' of rope noted.
Mason clasps Fosco on the shoulder as the roof caves in. "Good work my man, nice workin' with ya. Now let's see if we can't find the right way in there."
Turning to the rest Mason continues. "Well, that wasn't set as a trap for nothing, spread out, there has to be another way in."

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
Xale rubbed his holy symbol of the God of Portals and Locks and muttered mostly to himself; "Well...it appears Dalt is enjoying testing us to see if we can even find the correct Portal into the Tomb..."
With that; the Dwarf just shakes his head and gets back to studying the area for any other possible entrances to the Tomb; Malvexa hovering nearby protectively....

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
The party spreads out searching and probing the rest of the eroded hillside for other entrances.
It's Xale that first notices something, maybe it's his dwarven eye for stonework or maybe a gift from his god? Either way, the dwarf sees something odd about the way the sand and gravel have eroded in a spot to the east. When that spot is probed the earth gives way revealing another opening in the hillside.

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
A slight grin spreads across the Dwarven Warrior-Priest's face and he gives a quick prayer of thanks to Dalt before calling out to his fellows; "Come here please my friends. I believe I may have discovered a way into this tomb....or at the very least; another false lead for us to cross off the list."
As the party gathers nearby; he points out the opening in the hillside....

Mason returns to the dwarf looking at his discovery.
"Well done."

Fosco agrees."Yes, very well done indeed! Now I guess I do my job...search for traps." Taking out his pipe and placing within it a large amount of pipeweed Fosco lites up."Might as well enjoy it now. Never know when I can have the chance to enjoy my pipe once we get inside this place."After a few puffs he travels along side the new discovery looking for traps and secret doors.

Malibran approaches the newly found entrance as his companion searches for traps. He makes sure not to stand too close, though he begins thinking of the words to some of his healing prayers in case they are needed.

After a thorough search you find nothing. It's just a hole in the dirt.

Shall we try digging as with the previous hole? the druid suggests and will assist with the dig, as well as his soldier follower.

Halbrad is verily and mightily pissed off and the dark genius who designed this hill and wickedly makes the party waste precious time in fruitless digging.
With a mighty groan, he feels himself assailed by righteous anger and despair. A horrid transformation take hold of his countenance, face twisting and turning in a feral sneer with eyes agleam with rage, a sight that would surely strike terror into the heart and being of small children, innocent animals and expecting mothers. From his throat begins to issue something that should not be said in polite companies and is best reserved for the darker environments where foul knaves play and prosper.

But his better nature soon takes hold of the peasant hero and after but a moment, with a clamping of hands over his mouth so no profanities may issue forth, he is back to his normal self.
Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
"By all means, let us dig." Mason falls to his knees at the hole digging to enlarge it.
Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
Worren says, "It doesn't look like we all need to dig, anyone care to take a closer look with me at the abandoned campsite Edgar located?" He then begins to walk in the direction of the abandoned camp.

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
A bit crestfallen now that his discovery doesn't seem to be an entrance at all; Xale glances over at Worren and then shrugs his shoulders and says; "Certainly....let us check that site out as well; and if it proves fruitless; we can return here and attempt to dig our way in."
Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
Mason continues to dig, kicking and pushing at any stonework. "There's gotta be a hole here somewhere,"

Re: Inside The Tomb (game thread)
As you approach the campsite you find the skeletal remains of the horses. It appears that their owners tied them here and never returned. Weathered and cracked saddle bags lay at the foot of the tree. In the undergrowth nearby the remnants of a wood box can be seen.NJWilliam wrote:Worren says, "It doesn't look like we all need to dig, anyone care to take a closer look with me at the abandoned campsite Edgar located?"
