Bandy approaches Clay when he sees him sitting at a table for a meal.

"You must be Clay. Saw your post on the board and wondered if you still needed a hand. As long as we can get back here before the festival, I'm interested in a little walk-a-bout. Don't like to stay still for very long... and the extra coin would be nice. Names Bandobras. Bandobras Sandybanks. But you can call me Bandy."

He extends a hand.

Just realized that I needed to mention I am only willing to pay 3 people. Halfpint and Bandy are the first two. Anyone else want 15gp to take a short walk. It should be uneventful, but you never can tell.

Glad to meet you Bandy. I'd be proud to have you along. This is Halfpint. We traveled together recently. She's good with her bow. Clay explains the plan is just to head back to the Old Mill. The Userer wants an accurate map before deeding me the area to build on, which makes no sense to me. No one else is using the area, after all. But I'll try it their way for now. He explains to Bandy that there was a den of ghouls there, But they are cleared out and the land was blessed, healing the landscape.

The group will be accompanied by Morr (dog) and Asala (donkey), and maybe Maurice (owl) if he didn't fly off. If you two are game, there is that motte an hour or two further on that we could check out. There was a covered well I never explored last time I was there. Right now no one is living there, but I think Gus, the farmhand, is moving in there in a year.

Bandy nods pleasantly, but cautiously, at Halfpint. Then turns back to Clay, "Always up for a little adventure! Mostly because it seems to pop up where you least expect it! Tell me more about this motte..."

Irving looks over toward Clay. "Are you planning to return by the time of the festival? I'm not sure when my companions plan to depart on the next phase of our holy mission, but if we can make the timing work I am happy to accompany you and aid in taming these wild lands in what small way Incan."

"Sprinkles and I can go," offers Fingers.

Markd walks in and spots Irving and hears he is offering himself to a new adventure.

He approaches.
Good man. The priest has refused us help, but still insists I go look for this relic. I could use your help, and am willing to go as soon as we can. Can you perchance recruit one or two more. I am afraid my presence may weaken your efforts, so I will stay away best I can.

Irving looks over toward Clay. "Are you planning to return by the time of the festival? I'm not sure when my companions plan to depart on the next phase of our holy mission, but if we can make the timing work I am happy to accompany you and aid in taming these wild lands in what small way Incan."

Clay Weatherwax looks at Irving and is impressed by the mans presence. My own needs would have us back prior to the festival. If others in the group have a mind to wander elsewhere, it could take longer. We would be proud to have you along. This is Halfpint and Bandy. Do you all know one another?

When Fingers approaches, Clay smiles. That would be fine. But I have no more money to offer. These three were first. Are you still interested? We can set out in the morning! Clay continues on to describe that the group will be traveling at half-speed to ensure they do not get lost and so the map is accurate. We can explore the motte if the group wants to, It is just an ancient mound with some stones indicating it was a house. There is a cellar where I sheltered for a night. And a well, which I left alone. It is probably dry. If anyone wants to see about that, I have 50' of rope and 10 torches.

He asks Bandy and Irving what adventures they have been on and sights they have seen in this new world. He also explains that Clay has no interest in taming any wilderness, that it is fine the way it is.

My companions and Inencountered all manner of unaccountable things across the river to the east, much of which I found frankly quite confusing. I have no need to explore an old motte for its own sake--my holy mission still calls--but if it will make your residence safer and not interfere with my quest I will do what I can to aid you."

To Mark, he says, "If we accompany these fine gentlemen, perhaps they will be kind enough to accompany us upon our return?"

Crap. I just had this whole scenario in my head for Clay to go with Markd and Irving in exchange for a good word from the Bishop - so Clay can gain a title/lordship to the hex around his home. Then I remembered Captain Bremen is on that mission, so Clay is unable to join you.

Too bad.

Unless I find something better for Captain Bremen to do with his time... But he wants to be in that mission too.

Foxy O'Hare and Idriss the Entertainer return to town under Guardsman escort through the East gate, Foxy borne on a stretcher, at 8:00am on 23 May 2021. They take some time to rest and recover, catching up to the Game Date of 25 May.

Silent wakes suddenly and muzzily lifts his head, looking around the room. He's in the common room of the tavern. He recognizes some faces but not others. It seems busy. His head is pounding from sleeping at the table he was sitting at. He has no idea how long he drifted off for, the fatigue of him recent foray having finally caught up with him. Demanding payment.

He stands, stretches, and lumbers over to the bar to get some food and drink.
