Hey guys, I'm Dave (aka Sulldawga) and I've been playing some form of D&D since the early 80s. I was big into 4e for several years but recently moved away from my regular tabletop game-mates so I'm strictly PbP right now. I'm in two games over on the ODD74 boards, run by Waysoftheearth and Makofan (both of those guys are members here, too, I believe) and I'm jumping right into a Dark Dungeons game here as well!

Yeah, I was a player and DM over at dndonlinegames.com for a while so I know all about "fizzled out" games. Comes with the territory.

I think someone (Argennian or Alethan perhaps) figured out that we only have 1 "completed" game in our Archived section.
But we've got a bunch of active games, and a real responsive Admin so games can be set up quickly.

I've done some PbP on other sites, but this is my preferred by far.

Hope the Dark Dungeons game takes off. That's a clone that I don't know too much about, of a system that I only played once, in a short lived PbP. I'm going to lurk for sure!

Yeah to keep a PbP game going usually takes a dedicated and excited group of players and a DM who isn't either too burnt out or too busy to keep up. I know I am slowly trying to grow as a PbP DM but for guys like me who are always busy it's a really nice pace.

True, I have found that I struggle to DM in person because I am admittedly not really quick on my feet I need time to think. In a PbP campaign it gives me time to think and process through decisions which works out much better. I also admittedly have limited time and the players I do know in my local area hate modules with a passion so it's either custom or bust.

I'm with you. The pace of the PbP game is much more to my liking when I'm the DM. Gives me time to be even more devious!

Heh, very true. As a pbp DM, you get a lot more time to think about and consider your game in a way that really isn't possible for off the cuff and spontaneous FtF gameplay. I like the chance to better consider each character individually, in addition to the party as a whole. Plus for a role-play junkie like myself, it's way beyond where most could accomplish or stand in FtF play!
