Round 1

Though several of you get shots off before the battle is joined, only Quinn's spear connects, taking out Boranz before he can rhyme again (6 damage). The rest of the exchange consists of unsuccessful blows.

The party is relatively well positioned in a doorway, but this means many of them cannot attack. If you want to tighten up to ranks of 3, that is possible, especially with the spear rank.

Torgyr backs out of front rank and pulls a flask of military oil from his belt. I'm assuming he was on the door when we breached, yes?

He lights the flask and lobs it into the middle of the throng of kobolds, taking care to throw far enough to avoid splashing his own party in the doorway.

Torgyr was ahead of the kobolds, so I assumed he was out of the front line before the kobolds hit.

Still a distance away from melee, Quinn will unstrap a javelin from his shield and throw that through the doorway.

Round 2

Zim downs a kobold in the front (4 damage) before Torgyr's flask detonates, bringing down 3 of the kobolds in the backs ranks.

Ranulf downs his opponent (7 damage) but his followup misses. Solaine tags one with her Voulge (2 damage). Quinn's javelin passes harmlessly overhead, and the kobolds are not able to get through the armor of the front rank.

Emm steps forward into the spear rank, then skewers a kobold (7 damage). Randolpho misses with his sling.

The remaining 4 kobolds, who were out of the line of the group's fire start retreating toward the north door, terrified.

Torgyr grunts with satisfaction as his incendiary engulfs the kobolds and lifts the stock of his crossbow to his shoulder. He fires off a bolt at the retreating kobolds.

When the kobolds exit, Quinn will enter the room to retrieve his javelin and spear, checking over the body of the kobold he skewered.

So, is the plan to take some potshots as they flee, but otherwise let a few stragglers escape? (The alternative being trying to run them down)

While I'm not happy about letting the kobolds get away, I'm less happy about the idea of chasing them through an area that is unknown to us and that they know well.

"Zim, Emm, Audi. Come guard the door with me while the others search the room. We don't want those bastards coming back with reinforcements and catching us unawares." Ranulf and Zim will take the front line with Emm and Audi supporting from a back rank. Ranulf will loan Emm Lucille (i.e. his arbelast) in case she needs it.

Just housekeeping at this point, but...

As the kobolds move to flee, Ranulf cuts down two before they can do much more than back up a few steps. Torgyr downs one with a well placed crossbow bolt to the chest. One makes it to the door, and opens it, but Randolpho downs him with a perfectly placed sling shot before he can get out the door. None escape.

The group establishes a perimeter, and search the bodies and the room. The kobolds have small handfuls of copper only (you find 200 cp between them). Aside from several smashed (and looted) crates, there are also several thin, threadbare blankets and a bunch of rat jerky.

The door leading north from this room is ajar, and you can dimly see a long table in that room.
